[VIDEO] Did Ben Stokes actually refuse to shake hands with Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja or is this just negative propaganda from Team India?

Whether Stokes shakes hands or not is his choice, why are Indians always crying about something? One day they’re triggered by someone wearing a green shirt, next it’s a tantrum over a handshake. India are getting pathetic day by day . Seriously, man up FFS

NB. all teams should declare in a 5 match series whenever England is a bit sick of bowling, even when our captain is overbowled with a dodgy hammy and limped off the field. be nice!

Throwing tantrum over it and harrasing batsmen was strange. Stokes asking was fine and India refusing was fine.

If I was making the call , I would have asked Eng to bowl all overs after seeing the tantrum. It's a 5 tests series and having opposition longer in the field would have tired them more.

Exactly.

It was all ok and both were equally in the right to (a) ask for and (b)refuse a draw

But it wasn’t ok when some England players decide to throw their collective toys out of the pram. A self righteous fit of moral indignation doesn’t suit.

Me, after how England behaved, I’d have made it a point to bat to the last ball of the day.

naa mate, not everyone is ponting.
Even Kohli would not have taken this BS from Stokes.

Stokes anger wasn't justified but he did shake hands. Instead of lying that it was Gill's call, Jadeja should have state the obvious that he was after his century milestone

Tbf we left the poor guy hanging just a few minutes before. He was probably still shaking with embarrassment. Cut him some slack people.

I don't like this idea of declaring draw before the scheduled time. It means fans don't get to see maximum cricket.

Would they partially refund the fans for an early finish? :inti

Why Stokes celebrated when he hits a century? Isn't he celebrating his personal milestone there?

“You want to get a Test hundred against Harry Brook?” Ben Stokes asked Ravindra Jadeja.
“F---ing hell Washy, get on with it. Get on with it mate!” Brook goaded Washington Sundar.

“How long do you need, an hour?” complained Ben Duckett.
“You shake our hands and it’s done. You want the hundred, that’s what you want. Embarrassing,” concluded Zak Crawley.
Oh man Washy should've taken all remaining overs to get his hundred then..

It would have been funny if Jadeja and Wash took it down to the last over to score their tons and prolong Stoke's agony. They really missed a trick there.

Seems like India doing brilliantly to draw a game now almost feels like a loss...

The insecurity levels are just off the chart

Not sure why some are surprised our media is having a field day with this incident. Ashes is clearly the standout rivalry for us and boy, do we love a good England meltdown!

This should also add some extra spice/drama to the Ashes.

Every single post here and media everywhere is calling out England being whiners and you are going in some other direction lol
I'm saying team India is not involved in the criticism storm..which is rightfully deserved .Indian team didn't make a comment saying it was up to the players..that's all

Typical, Indians celebrating a milestone in a non winning cause.

India is the factory of soft/lost runs.
Yea, Pakistanis are the king of meaningful runs as evident from their 100% loss record in Australia in Tests since 1998. That's 27 years now, losing every single Test match in Australia. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: 🐒 🐒

Australian media and cricketing fraternity has come down heavily on Ben Stokes and the English for yesterday’s downright embarrassing and shameful behaviour from them. They’re being labelled a bunch of pompous spoiled brats typical Brits. Even the Indian media has not hit them as hard as the Aussies are doing.

Ashes year. The psychological war has begun.

Aussies still rankled by England having "moral victories" in matches they lose and claiming they have invented attacking cricket all of a sudden.

Lyon weighs in on the final hour drama in Manchester

Nathan Lyon had his say on the events that unfolded on Day 5 of the fourth Test between England and India at Old Trafford.

Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon has reflected on the strange finish to the fourth Test between England and India that saw the tourists continue to bat on despite being offered a draw by home captain Ben Stokes.

Speaking at a sponsor event for Australian Big Bash team Melbourne Renegades, Lyon delved into the incident that saw Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar bat on to notch hundreds as India kept their chances alive of drawing the five-Test series.

“Get them out. Don’t let them get a hundred,” Lyon said when asked how England should’ve responded to the matter.

England and India are currently engaging in a fiercely contested ICC World Test Championship series, with the hosts leading 2-1 going into the final Test.

Stokes and Co are also set to face off against Australia in a five-Test Ashes series Down Under later this year.

Opening up on his expectations from the big home summer, Lyon conceded that he is prepared for England batters coming out all guns blazing against him.

“I totally expect them to come out and attack me.

“I think every touring team says they’re going to come and attack the spinner, so I’m pretty used to that now.

“Guys trying to attack me bring me into the game. So I’m looking forward to that. I’ve got some plans, and I’m already writing down a few things I want to try to put in play and work on.”

A key figure in Australia's mace-winning 2023 World Test Championship campaign, Nathan Lyon explains the competition's significance to him.

The Australian off-spinner was all praise for England's positive brand of cricket, and how the team has evolved over time.

“That’s England and the way they’re playing their cricket, so it’s amazing theatre and something I love viewing.

“I think Bazball has changed a little bit, they’re now honestly talking about ways of how to win games and not being too reckless.

“But the conditions over here, it’s always been a great competition between bat and ball and that’s the way Australia’s produced wickets like that.”

Australia and England will kickstart the five-Test series from 21 November, with the first Test scheduled to be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

‘That final hour isn’t reserved for personal goals’: Dale Steyn and Tabraiz Shamsi spar over IND vs ENG Manchester controversy

Steyn: “Shamo this onion has many layers to it, and each one will make someone cry. The only issue I see here is the one thing people aren’t realizing, the batters weren’t playing for 100s, they were batting for a DRAW. That was the goal. Draw the game. Once that was accomplished, and a result was out of the question a handshake was offered, that’s the gentlemanly thing to do right? It’s not then the time to realize they safe and now say no we’d prefer some free milestones… although within the rules, just seems a little, well, odd. That said, they did bat well, and maybe with the last hour approaching they should have been more aggressive in reaching those milestones, at least then, we could all agree, no team tried to out do the other in this weird situation.”
