Since 2021 he hasn't even crossed 25 one single time in multiple t20 world cups. He averages 13 with an equally poor strike rate.

In 11 matches, This includes knocks against namibia, USA, ireland, canada, scotland and Netherlands. He couldn't cross 20 runs against any of them

He has also opened in a lot of those matches.

Even if it were T10 cricket & he was made to Bat down the order, with the team cornered, he is the only batter I’d have confidence in trying to fight out of the situation; he is a modern ATG in the limited forms and just built different.

The biggest shame is that Pakistan have had this elite top order batter all these years and just one ICC trophy with him, historically we’ve had trouble in the top order and for a team like Pakistan which use to have a square bowling attack and players while inconsistent, could still win a match for you - building a team around Fakhar would have been worth its weight in gold.

When you look at the game these last 10 years and how it has evolved, the teams that have done well had a stable opening pair who were tasked to fire on all cylinders from the go, posting huge totals, and that paradigm translated to the overall team strategy.

It was only recently there was talk of making Fakhar captain before he was thrown under the bus to make way for the lipstick fraud. It was a great idea really but was put out super quickly because it would have created a terrible scenario for those who conspire against Pakistan.
