I was watching the big bash today and the commentators were speaking to Glenn Maxwell during the last over of the game with the in field mic they have. They were speaking to him on the game and as Haris was bowling Glen Maxwell then said Haris has just said this to him ‘I want to bowl Yorker not bouncer want hat trick’ but Maxwell put on a very strong Pakistani/Indian accent.

Did any one catch this? Should he be offended by that?

Meh. We should stop being snowflakes. Don't care enough to be bothered by it. He can do it @IPL if he's any good at it.

I love it when Pakistanis try an Aussie accent it’s hilarious

He's joking around. It was also stupid how the Australian U19 players were punished for doing something similar. Me and my desi friends do the same at times, as a joke, are we racist against our own culture?

It really doesn’t matter.

We’re not like *some* people who get offended over 17 year olds joking around on social media.

I’m sure Maxwell wasn’t even trying to be offensive

Then one could argue it’s like when a black person uses the N word towards another black person, yet someone who isn’t black can’t use it. So arethey racist to their own kind?

I was watching it and I didn't pick up any such thing. Maxwell's been signing about Harris everytime they've spoken to him and we need to give Maxi the credit for all praises he has had for Haris. Stop with this victim mentality.

We can do it they can't it's racist if they do it not if we do it

No evidence provided means we have to give him the benefit of the doubt. It is no more racist then Pak's attempting the Aussie accent. G'day!:wahab2

If you want to fish for racism and try desperately hard to be victimized then yes, you will hear a tinge of mock in his accent.

He's not racist but most aussies are I remember Ponting pushing Indian chairman

Saw it live thought it was funny and endearing. He's obviously not mocking the accent nor is he trying to be offensive. Just a light-hearted mimic of a teammate.

No. yes he did change his accent for those words.
But sorry no offense intended or caused
He has the utmost respect for haris

Not racist at all. It was all jokes. A non-issue, just like those Aussie U19 players.

Does this not come under the definition of "casual racism"?

We all joke around in our family in all kinds of accents, including Ind/pak regional, but that doesn't mean we look down upon any race. It is all good while having fun. Most of us act silly at times when having fun and people need to take it lightly seeing its context.

That was Damien Martyn

I must say pretty poor mannerism from Ponting. First he asked trophy by a finger gesture and then pushed the that guy away from the stage. This is no way to treat anyone irrespective of what you have won.

TBH he was asking for it. Just standing there and didn't feel like giving the trophy.
