[VIDEO] Haris Rauf loses composure and gets into a fight with a fan

The title of this thread needs to change. It gives the impression that Haris is at fault while no culpability for the fan.

Not acceptable. It's the fan who needs to be called out.
Its Haris’s fault. He could have taken 2 seconds to give the fan a picture and let him walk away happy. (Its not like there was a huge crowd present) He chose the opposite and got the result he got. No sympathy in light of his bowling in the last over against the US. Dont want to face fan onslaught? Dont show them attitude especially when your performance has been poor.

Don’t discount Saya staging this whole thing to take the heat off the players. It’s far fetched I know, and this seems pretty real, but Saya are very shady.

Its ridiculous to see how everyone is pouring there support for Rauf on this on twitter.

What the fan did was idiotic but what Rauf was about to do was even more stupid.

If cricketers are giving support to Rauf on this, than im glad cricket isnt played in USA, or else our cricketers would be in some deep trouble.

Even seeing the support here from UK posters shows that alot of people are not aware of the law....

Difference is you or I or anyone else here ain't a celebrity. We can punch someone in usa and get away with it.

In usa media attention is everything, if a celebrity does this especially a foreign celebrity then oh oh. Big big governmental problems incoming.
Even if a non celebrity assaults someone, that is good enough to lead to a civil law suit and enough to get you amount of money to pay of your mortgage.

Its all about if the other party wants to press charges. But yes, him being a celebrity would had meant paying extra.

Posters and cricketers defending Rauf have no idea the bullet that Rauf just dodged only because of his wife. And that is more problematic if we plan to play cricket in USA.

Even inzi got off lightly during the alu incident in the 90s, but that was Canada aswell.

No one is supporting Rauf for threatening to hit someone.

You need to read what everyone is saying.

They are talking about provocation etc.

US justice system does not care about provocation.

Whoever would had punched first, US justice system would had bankrupted that person.

90% of the people (cricketer and fans) are supporting the reaction of Rauf by showing sympathy and endorsing what he did. Yet to see one cricketer that says how Rauf reacted was more problematic.

The fact that even the chairman saw no issue in this, just shows how much deep trouble PCB could be in future

If every single Pakistani cricketer thinks how Rauf reacted is alright, than i hope we never get to play cricket again in USA.

Rauf and Pakistani players are real softies.

Do they even realize what the players in the 90's used to face whenever they lost key matches or games against India?

Wasim Akram's house was stonned and egged for heaven's sake. The 1999 WC finalist team was harraassed in public for a whole month where they would be abused by fans, in contrast this team got showered with dinners, rewards and adulation for fluking their way to the 2022 T20 WC final.

You think it's perfectly okay to stone a player's house, harass players and abuse them?

And Yes the 1999 WC team had to face NAB inquiries, read Wasim Akram's and Shoaib Akhtar's respective autobiographies where the players were called to the NAB offices. Personally speaking, the current players need to toughen up.

You think it's perfectly okay to stone a player's house, harass players and abuse them?

Obviously not but the Pakistani players need to understand that they have to deal with both the good and the bad. The same Awaam which rewards them massively with fandom, rock star adulation, sponsorships, hero worship will also punish them when they perform very badly and under perform because of grudges.

Despicable behavior by the fan. Having said that Rauf should have developed more thick skin being a cricketer in the subcontinent. Still no excuse for the fan’s behavior. Also what’s up with “India se hoga” lol, Pakistan se gaali nahi padti kya ise? What bubble is he living in

Indians are very happy with his and his team's performance. Why'd they abuse him? :p

Very easy for you to say that behind your screen but same way Haris was riled up by couple of words, you took out crucial minutes out of your life to share an opinion on someone who doesn’t even know you exist.

I think a lot don’t understand that this has probably builded up for many weeks, it’s absolutely normal to lose composure, it certainly isn’t the first time (Kayne West, Cantona, Hazard etc) these things happen.

This became personal when it was OFF the pitch, he wasn’t on national duty, this was done in front of his wife and abuses were made at his father. I fully back Haris here.

Haris has disgraced Pakistan repeatedly. He deserves this and worse. No sympathy for these traitors.

So if you refuse to give a picture, I have the right to call your mother disgusting things?

What insanity is this? Cricket has nothing to do with basic decency. Haris can be the worst player on Earth and it would still not give anyone the right to say those things that the other person said.

Haris has disgraced Pakistan repeatedly. He deserves this and worse. No sympathy for these traitors.
The only people who have disgraced Pakistan in sports are match-fixers. Haris may be a crap bowler but he has not disgraced Pakistan. Don't let a stupid game of cricket define your morals. Haris, or anyone for that matter, can concede 36 runs in the last over of the match to lose a game and it still wouldn't allow anyone to call his mother with that disgusting thing that that person said.

Stop being soft. Pakistan manners count for nothing unfortunately. These players only know one way to be treated. They deserve this.

Disgraced? Traitor? Grow up and base your post on logic and not emotions. You are acting like he got convicted for fixing or spot fixing.

Yes he isn’t the player he was pre marriage, yes he played poor but blame the management that keeps selecting him and stop using terms that don’t even apply to his situation ie traitor, including abusing his father.

Russell crowe got arrested for throwing a phone at Hotel clerk. Haris Rauf luckily didn't do anything stupid like assaulting him. If the fan wants to press charges he is free to do.

If I were there instead of haris I sure would have given that guy taste of his own medicine. I would have surely punched that loser guy.

Haris was kind of right in calling that guy Indian. Indians do speak like that generally.
When they curse they use those words often.

In Punjabi gaalis words like those are not used.

You really have to be a certain type of wierdo to harrass a stranger like this. Why do some hang around people they don't know? Get a life. I wouldn't care if anyone famous walked past me and nor would I beg a conversation.

Fan cussed at him first! If you think Harris is at fault you are jahil! Chacha ky society ho and u have no education

Fan was a clown & never say anything when a man’s with his wife . You are free to went your anger within limits at the ground. I can understand the anger of Rauf .

However there is too much to lose than gain for a famous sportsman in such a situation.

If he assaulted a fan he may harm him , be charged or even get himself hurt & maybe his wife . You don’t wanna throw your career away for an idiot.

He was probably the worst pacer so will be dropped, a break may do him good

It’s hypocritical if you ask me.

Hypocrisy is when corruption takes over all institutions claiming they are free & fair in the interests of the public .

Since this new government the nation & the team also are a complete mess . Nobody is there on solely merit .

This fan was an idiot but don’t compare him to those wanting justice .

Nobody should behave this way but the dark reality is a massive number of Pak fans don’t trust this setup of national cricket , from top to bottom .

This is one of the lowest times of a Pakistani cricket fan . Embarrassing

I think Bangladeshi fans usually throw stones at the opposition team. Maybe a lesson to learn there.
He just talked sense and you, just to sound like a smartass, took a dig at BD.

What’s the point?

As he said, Indian fans aren’t really known for their character worldwide either. So, you’ve got plenty of lessons in your own backyard if you’re looking

Haris should be punished for his aggressive behavior in charging at the other person.
Verbally disrespecting family is bad but showing aggressive behavior in public warrants punishment from ICC.
Thats the difference between living in Punjab vs US. He is lucky that the other guy did not get injured or is pressing charges. Haris would be in jail otherwise.

I agree with egging houses abusing players to an extent etc.. to vent out frustration but saying BC MC and your wife is for sale etc.. is just not on bro that too infornt of his wife

That shows you how far Pak cricket has fallen. It all started with the SF loss vs India in Mohali. Players were happy and content with reaching the semis. They didn't care for the meek surrender when chasing a below par score. The fans also welcomed them as if they had won the WC. Now compare this with the QF loss vs india in 1996. The anger from the fans showed that only winning the WC was acceptable, nothing less.

Don't feel sorry for him at all. This miserable sell out posed with the police in uniform, the same police dept who was kidnapping women, molesting them, torturing protestors with impunity.

Absolutely unnecessary to mention 'India' here when that fan himself claimed he's from Pakistan.
There is no need for every player to react and tweet about this and Rizwan the drama queen never disappoints, there is no need to for him to mention India in his tweet yet he does.Players are using this video to gain sympathy and trying to sweep their poor performance under the carpet.

Being a cricketer in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh isn't easy.

Indian cricketers probably have better sensitivity training. In social media era, smart phone era, players have to be taught how to behave in public. There should be some basic cultural training that companies force us to take.

Who is Johns fella. asking for apology lol

"It is irrelevant whether the person who disrespected Haris Rauf was from Pakistan or India. What truly matters is that this individual lacked values and manners. No one has the right to disrespect any human being, especially in front of their family members. Such appalling…"
It is relevant . Nobody have right to use Indian words in wrong way.

Because many Pakistanis think only Indians speak like that, they keep forgetting majority Punjab is in Pakistan.

Some of the old Pakistani Punjabi uncles in US will make even Gangs of wassyepur look like PG.
what are you talking about? There was no punjabi spoken in the video. It was urdu

These players have zero takers in Pakistan. Entire social media is filled with posts i.e. this is a clear desperate Saya Corporation stunt to try and deflect the heat from the players but the writing is on the wall.

He is a traitor. Didn't want to play Tests. Stop being a softie. Softness has destroyed Pakistan.

If im not wrong then once sarfaraz Ahmed was also face similiar type of incident where fans were abused him and he was with his child

To be honest, it's wrong for an Indian to abuse him. Generous pie chuckers like Rauf should be appreciated by the Indian public.

Every tom dick and siraj hits him for a six :). Thats our standard these days… we barely scrapped through ireland game. We deserve to do qualifications for every tournament. Even Afghanistan, is better than pak team now.

This was Rizwan's tweet
It is irrelevant whether the person who disrespected Haris Rauf was from Pakistan or India.
Rizwan is attempting to create confusion surrounding the nationality of that fan, when there shouldn't be any. Wasim Badami revealed in a show with Basit Ali that he spoke to Haris Rauf, who assured him that the fan was indeed Pakistani.

The fan shouldn’t have insulted his mother. He should have only insulted Haris. But the point is the entire situation could have been avoided had Haris not shown arrogance in refusing to spare 2 seconds to make someone happy.

1) Racism
2) Homophobia
3) Transphobia

Sports people have to be taught about this given that they are playing global leagues and the laws are different. Kamran akmal got involved in couple of this recently.

All the training actually goes to the bin when someone says a word about your family.

Not really. The training is precisely for situations like this. You are a public figure. What if some 10 or 15 people doing the same thing?

I understand. But actually doing it i.e maintaining your composure would be so, so, so very difficult. A man can take all abuses except anything against his family.

Wow they have pulled it off

Players are going to escape again.

Everyone is faking sympathy online to get the heat off the players.

No surgery will happen. A couple of players will be made scapegoats and thats it.

Same old same old.

It seems Saya Corporation recruited an English teacher to write text messages based on inputs given by Pakistani cricketers in Urdu. All tweets are unique and have passed plagiarism test. :ua

Key words are 'Values', 'Disrespect', 'Right', 'Disgraceful', 'Humanity', blah..blah..

However, Oscar Rizwan might have asked for more masala content, which is why the teacher added one more key word: 'India'.:genius

I can fully understand the sense of righteous anger one would feel when insulted especially in front of family/wife.

But sometimes you need to learn when to backdown - especially here in the US - and I am not exaggerating - where people have access to guns fairly easily - you never know when you run into a trigger happy mentally unstable person. Best to avoid unnecessary confrontations unless your own life or your loved one's life is in danger.

Just a few months' ago a couple went to see a movie at night and had a little altercation with a bunch of rowdy movie goers making noise in the theater. The rowdy bunch got ejected out of the movie but they lay in wait and attacked the couple in the parking lot. In the end the couple while pressing charges thanked their lucky stars they did not get shot.

Rauf at the end of the day could have been charged for assault if he proceeded with his confrontation physically irrespective of the heinous nature of the provocation. And worse - wrong time at the wrong place - he himself would have been stabbed or shot - better just to avoid unnecessary confrontation - you might just end up with a bruised ego and nothing else.

PR damage control - not buying it

Yes let’s side with a lout who has behaves like an uncouth yob.
Says more about you than Rauf…..
Yes for the greater good. Can’t allow players to escape the consequences of their poor performances because of this incident.

This reminds me of :inti

Surprisingly intelligent people can keep two thoughts in their minds at the same time

1) The players performed badly and deserve to be replaced
2) It is wrong to abuse players

Maybe too many fans lack intelligence

why would you want everyone here to know about your LLB knowledge? :p

Apparently GHQ is unhappy with the players and have given orders to Mohsin Naqvi to tighten the screws around the team and the players. Let's see what happens, plenty of speculation in the media

- The PCB is now going to strictly enforce the 2 + PSL T-20 league policy where the PCB still reserves the right to refuse permission to players on account of form, discipline

- Babar's removal as captain

- Crackdown on Saya Corporation and limiting the number of players an agent can sign

- Strict enforcement on fitness, nutrition standards for the players

- Issuing strict instructions to players to prioritize Pakistani domestic cricket

- Demoting under performing players in central contracts

If Rauf was in his mind in a happy place, he would have agreed to the fan photo.

Its just deep down he realises and now knows, he is a rubbish bowler who cannot even set his own field (last boundary vs USA).

And can we please save the shock horror show here, these players are also foul mouthed.

Amazing how these chamchey completely butcher the English language in interviews but write queens English in tweets

This is more than enough evidence of thee fake image/persona they have wanted to convey forever
Extremely valid point.

You have to be a certain kind of lowlife to heckle and harass other people going about their day to day business, in their own personal life.

Exactly what a certain cult of people from a particular party have been doing in the last 3-4 years.

Harassing their political opponents in their personal lives wherever they come across in the streets. Chanting slogans and calling names.

This is well taught by their cricketer-turned-politician leader.

It is not surprising at all that the public thinks doing such stunts in someone’s private life is OKAY.

Down with such clown acts.

Haris Rauf is not 'other' people. He is meant to be a professional athlete representing his country.

He is a public figure. If he doesn't like the limelight, he can retire.

If you’re a public figure, it does not automatically mean you have to tolerate vile and pathetic behavior of your critics/haters/opponents in your day to day personal life.

Sure, all he can and should do is ignore.

But we should not condone such lowlife behavior which has been happening a ton in the last few years and being normalized by a certain cult following party.

First it was a saazish by Indians, now it's a political party. Next we'll be hearing it was the Illuminati or the like that was behind this outrage.
