Wasim's comments on twitter

Where is this boy??? We have serious talent flowing through the veins of our nation and no platform for these kids to be discovered. It’s time we do something about it #TheFutureOfCricketIsWithOurYouth

That's whole subcontinent problem.lots of talented kids keep playing raw cricket without proper facilities till they reach their teen age or adulthood their career takes priority and they give up.
only solution is School cricket that is affordable and available to everyone who aspire to be a cricketer.

Great skills for a young kid. Another left armer in the making....this is Wasim Akram's legacy still paying dividends.

Bare foot and not wearing sports clothes either.

Looks really good doesn't he.

Am I the only one who watched this kid bowl for 5 min without blinking an eye?

he is :aag

consistently accurate.. if in the right hands, he could do go on to do wonderful things for the country...

Action similar to Amir.

But he's pitching it much fuller compared to Amir, to hit the stumps.

Amir can learn a thing or two from this kid.

It's amazing how his action seems so natural and the way he releases the ball at such a young age. I was bowling 4 wides in an over at the same age!

This is why bowling with tape ball is so helpful at young age, because its significantly lighter and smaller, yet goes fast in the air to keep you interested. See how many deliveries he can bowl with same action without tiring or straining his arm? - Also, look at the arm speed he is developing at such a young age. All those benefits helped us in past with those battery of fast bowler. You cannot give a hard ball to 5/6 year old and tell them to play with it...

Yes. But I think Batsman should practice with either tennis or hard red cherry if they want to excel batting. Practicing batting with tape ball hinders some skills.

Obviously most coach will make them practice with red ball or hard tennis ball.

Great vid and this kid has potential so long he is nurtured carefully, fantastic for his age

First and the third delivery were an absolute beauty. Need to find out who this kid is and get him proper training.

Looks like an amazing talent, hope he can be discovered and be provided with good infrastructure to develop.

He might be talented but i don't think we can gauge anything by just watching that clip.

Please do let us know when you find out more. Definitely want to help Get him whatever is needed to keep him going!

Please! I have seen some great balls being bowled by kid's in the park! We get carried away so easily! There will be million's like this kid in Pakistan.

Hopefully this kid can be found soon and gets a good passionate coach like Mohm Amir got at 11 years of age

Looks impressive.Very impressive! Best of luck for the future. I used to practice like this.Good old days.

Impressive indeed. Looks like there are people around him who are very much aware of his potential. The voices and the claps in the background suggest that.

Some more details of this child....

Lives in Chichawatni and his name is Hasan Akhtar, he is in year 3 of his school - he is 6.5 years old

His father is a farmer and he is the youngest of 8 siblings

His favourite cricketer is Wasim Akram and if he invites Hasan to coach him, he will be happy for it

He practices 3-4 hours a day bowling in his house

When he plays against older players in his village, they are afraid of facing him

Great to know he's dedicated to his bowling, 3-4 hours is a lot of bowling time. :)

MIG bro, I will be happy to donate if PakPassion would like to send him some sports clothing/cricket equipment or perhaps sponser him.

Just watched this little boy bowl, amazing have such action and control at that age.

Way too young at this stage to get professional coaching or adopt cricket as his career.

Amir's career is there for everyone to see. A Jimmy Anderson on green tops, an average bowler in UAE type conditions. Unless you have the slingy type actions like a prime Waqar, Akhtar you wont be succeeding in grave yards.

Talent Watch: Do we have find new future Wasim Akram ...?

King of swing Wasim Akram sees a huge potential in his kid, he encourages that this young Kid Hassan Akhtar should be given serious coaching as he has special potential to be new Wasim Akram caliber bowler for Pakistan.

Agreed. Let the kid just enjoy bowling. If you force him into coaching and make cricket a bit like school, that love for bowling might disappear.

I remember when a young Md Amir came to the scene in 09/10, there was pure un adulterated joy on his face when he was bowling. It was a pure love for bowling and the sport. And thats what made him special. That joy is gone now, and he is not the same bowler anymore.

Every kid starts playing the sport for that joy and by making it a 'school' this early, it might curb his enthusiasm for the sport.

The kid looks good. However from this to if he becomes a cricketer, there's so much uncertainty and so many variables. Even genetic plays a role, what if he doesn't become really tall and what not.

Point is, it's amazing to see kids like this and I hope and wish and pray that he becomes a solid cricketer and we have a Chichawatani Express in about a decade or so.

Best of luck for the little one.

All these high-profile former players who are saying help this kid - it will be interesting to see what they actually do for him. My guess is - very little or nothing.

Precisely. The control this kid has over his lengths is something many international fast bowlers struggle to achieve. :wahab

The swing is incredible. The wrist position perfect.

Hope he has a relative in the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Amir looked the same at a younger age. It means nothing when it comes to bowling on wickets like UAE, West Indies, grave yards.

Has a name with a combo of Hasan Ali and shoaib Akhtar.

He is too young to be coached me thinks. All he would need is proper nutrition at this point. Hope his dad is a rich farmer. Being the youngest of 8 siblings has disadvantages.

Good to know more about him and hopefully can get the right help when he is ready.

His elder brother says:

Wasim Akram hasn't contacted the boy but it would be good if could get in touch.

No one has really stepped forward to help.

A few local clubs have come to say that they will take him but their father says they won't just give away their son to any old club etc. - said kids education will not be effected.

It will be a story for the ages if this kid becomes a star for Pakistan. Long road ahead and there's no certainty of anything but he's got the raw tools to develop into one.

Did they say how old is he? Looks around 8-9.

What about the PCB, don't they want any redemption? Why can't they take responsibility of nourishing him, provide him with greatest & latest setup, let him groom further for cricket (that is if the kid wants to be a cricketer, otherwise just let go)?

Takes too much effort to put down the chai, Super biscuits, travel in a car driven by a chauffeur, go to the village where the kid is, bear the smell of sewage, talk and work out a long-term plan and emplore that your word remains faithful.

I saw a video today where Wasim Akram was giving young Hasan a 1 to 1 session. Whether this is the start of something, or whether it was a publicity stunt, I do not know...

Wasim Akram giving some tips to Hassan, hope it isn't any publicity stunt thing and he actually works with him.

Even it is a publicity stunt, this is huge for the kid. Imagine getting a one on one session with the greatest bowler our country has produced. At age 6! It would mean the world to the kid, and will open many doors in the future. Good to see his father is having emphasis on education as well.

Who knows - maybe this youngster and the leggie from Quetta will be playing for Pakistan one day. The new Wasim and Warne :ma

Can't view the video, is there a link anywhere

He is bowling on a full length pitch and at 6.5 years of age bowling at 130 km/h easily . The only reason that ball didn’t bounce off the pitch is because he is only 6 and his height is small

Whats the point of doing all this now when the kid is only 6 years old? So much can happen b/w now and when he actually can take up cricket professionally for a living? He may not like the game anymore and may want to do something else or he may no longer be as good as perceived. Amir's experience is there for everyone to see.

I see people studying music or musical instruments at an early stage not necessarily to become a professional . If they want that as a profession , then the base will be already there. Same here.
