Misbah speaking ahead of the final Test against West Indies, also the farewell Test for himself and Younis Khan:

"There is always pressure in any game but this one is special as we have a chance to make history"

"This (being the last match for YK and him) gives us an additional motivation and I hope that's the case with the team too"

"We will be looking forward to this game as a normal game, and focusing on it as we would do as players"

"Sometimes emotions can come into these situations but we will try our best to do our jobs"

"I am not disappointed about the 99's; I will take that (as a positive) and think its better than scoring a zero, like I did in the 2nd innings"

"I believe in never holding back and giving your 100% and then take whatever comes your way and be thankful for that"

"We know that the West Indies are a good side and they have beaten us but if we can perform to our potential,we can beat any side"

"We cannot live in the past, the pitches in the past two games were both different to each other and this pitch is also different and its a different game scenario"

"It was a tough time when I took over as some players were retiring also and there were different issues with match fixing etc as well"

"We were a young team and it was great to see how we emerged as a top international team, especially in the Test format"

"We haven't been performing like that in the last few series, but I have no doubt that we have potential to do better"

"Younis and I as role models have shown to this young side that we need to be more disciplined and determined, and once you do that hard-work, you can achieve anything"

"There are always regrets as you always believe you could have done better but as long as you have given your 100% then there are no regrets"

"You are playing against good oppositions and you have to give credit to them but all you can do is try"

"I am happy that I have given whatever I had in me, to the Pakistan team"

Wow, I had totally forgotten that this was their last match... Will be kinda sad to see them go, let's hope they can leave on a good note.

What a wonderful human being and one of the greatest captains of Pakistan team: Salute!

Well mannered men will always rise to the prominence. He will get his due.

To Measure how a person's leadership skills is, one needs to see where he started and where he is leaving it.

Started with YK, Inzi leaving, a huge void to fill. Team in shambles with internal problems (Fridi, Akmal brothers). Core players getting banned. Ajmal losing his mojo. Hafeez getting banned, Gul losing form, Sabbir still not panning out, not performing well...

Leaving with, Azhar Ali, Babar, Sarfaraz, Hasan Ali, Yasir. New core established. Team's internal problem resolved. Amir coming back. Unearthing Shabab.

Making team believe that they can be the #1 team and taking the team there.... True leader. Salute.

What a difference in Moyo's going and this.

Legend . . and his legend is every more legendary, because it's not because of his great batting! It's because outside of Pakistan, he is probably one of the most respected cricketers and leaders we have ever produced . . it's because he has led his country with pride and honor . . it's because he has been a fantastic ambassador for his country . . it is because he is leaving his team with his head held high, as opposed to when he took over amidst ignominy and calls of Pakistan's ouster from the circuit . . It is because he has brought a sense of calm to the team . . it is because he has brought a sense of discipline to the team . . it is because he has MADE A TEAM . .

Not the most innovative . . not the most blessed/talented cricket . . yet a legend!

Misbah Ul Haq . . Thank you for everything! You have definitely written a beautiful chapter in the history of Pakistani cricket . . Pakistan and Pakistani fans may be divided in their opinions . . but Cricketing fans across the world are united - You're a legend, sir!

Won't miss him, but thank you for your services to the nation.

:salute

Whatever his shortcomings, whatever he got wrong. There is no way he can be criticised for his efforts for Pakistan cricket and what he did when Pakistan cricket was on its knees in 2010.

He took the Pakistan cricket team from being the most hated team out there to one of the most popular teams.

One of the most level headed pakistani cricketer , played with honor and dignity and took us to number 1. Will never forget the pushups and sight of misbah holding the mace.

Both these posts sum up my feelings.
