Shaheen Shah Afridi at a presser:

"Yes the wicket is good for fast-bowlers, if you bowl in the right areas you will get success"

"I have worked a lot on fitness, and I work with Waqar Younis in the nets on bowling with a good line and length and Alhamdolillah, I got success because of that"

"The Almighty has blessed me with the honour of taking my first 5 wicket haul, in front of a home crowd and in my country"

"I feel very good about this (5fer); The fact is that every bowler who has the ball in his hand feels like a leader of the bowling attack, and I always try to make sure that I bowl well"

"I felt good because in the past I had taken four wickets twice but today I took a 5fer"

"We have learnt a lot from our batting performance in the first innings, and the way we are playing we hope to get to a good total"

"The team is working hard in the game and we are sure that we will win this match"

"Wicket has some cracks so the spinners could get some help, and that will also help the fast-bowlers"

"We are hoping to score well and give them a big target and then our bowling will have a chance to do well in the final innings"

"I have always liked playing Test cricket, and I have worked a lot on my fitness when I returned to the Pakistan side after recovering from Dengue fever"

"I would like to give credit to Abbas as he bowled well to take 4 wickets after from a point where he was not getting wickets, and he did really well to improve himself"

"It did look as if Abbas would get five wickets but when I got the 4th wicket, I felt that I could get the fifth wicket too"

"Just like in batting you have partnerships, also in bowling you have partnerships; so if a bowlers can bowl maiden from both ends then wickets will follow"

"I am going to see what my workload is then I will see about playing in leagues" [Question was asked about his involvement in county and Hundred]

"To me all batsmen are the same, as a bowler its your responsibility to get them out; Both sets of players are undoubtedly good players but my job is to get them out"

Great talent, hope PCB don't over use him in meaningless T20's and bi lateral ODI's. He shoud be allowed to earn money playing leagues, but PCB should keep an eye on his workload.

Bowled with excellent control, moved the ball both ways. Deserved his 5 wickets, needs to be looked after and brought along.

Great talent. My only worry is Azhar over bowling him because he can't rely on Yasir.

This is the time Pakistan appoints an young captain. An younger captain would try to build a core group with young players. Core group starts with Babar and Shaheen has joined the group. Naseem has to prove a lot before joining this group. If Pakistan wants to be a force say in 5 years or so they have to start building right now. There is a case of overbowling him. Happened to Irfan pathan when he was 19. He was made to bowl 50 overs in a Test match.

He is lucky to have a great bowling coach , his wrist and seam position is wonderful. Bringing the ball in which Wahab Riaz could not do after 10 years of international cricket.

Continues to progress - the sky is the limit for him.

Writes his name on NSK Honour Board.

Great performance. He has been looking like the leader and best bowler in the side for the last few games. He looks a changed bowler. He's swinging it into the righties, his pace and fitness has increased. I also love his attitude, he is aggressive and not afraid to get in the batsmens face and sledge, and he is humble off the field. He has a very bright future.

He has already mastered LOIs, he is starting to get there in tests now too. I am very excited to see him bowl in England and New Zealand in helpf conditions. The good thing is that Pakistan are preparing pace friendly tracks to support our pace bowlers, this one is turning too. They are moving away from those Boring pancakes and the wickets are actually acting like a wicket from the West Indies or even NZ, with turn. That is A recipe for good cricket.

Agreed with young captain suggestion and time doesnt look far when probably Babar will be captaining the test side as well.

However, dont agree with Irfan Pathan comparison. Pathan was exceptional with the new ball swing but had absolutely nothing other than that, pretty average height and not too threatening pace without swing and his action didnt allow him to do a lot in flat conditions and older ball. Rather than polishing his bowling skills he tried to focus on his batting.

Shaheen's new ball in dip is just couple of months old and developed with hardwork, working with Waqar and NCA, he has been creating impact with his pace, height and seam movement before as well. No doubt he will have to be managed well but he isnt a one trick pony.

Shaheen has a bright future. I really hope he is not over played in T20 leagues. It's better for him to play more first class cricket and test matches.

I would keep him away from T20 leagues. Have him only play international T20s and PSL. Play him in ODIs and tests. Maybe rest him for dead games so he is not over worked.

Really excited by his potential.
