Hassan Ali speaking to the media at end of Day 3 of the ongoing game against Sindh where he took 3/40 for Central Punjab

He was asked if his injuries were due to his unique celebration:

"I want to say in clear terms that I have no issues related to my celebrations; The injury and fitness issues I have had were due to other reasons; I took 3 wickets in this game and have celebrated in the same way; I like my celebration as that lifts me up and motivates me too"

very un natural movement which puts pressure on his nerves and back every time he pops up and down, may not be the cause but it is a very silly thing to keep doing if you are already suffering with injury.

Hassan Ali injured his neck with that celebration. He needs to be practical and stop with these cheap theatrics. Akhtar's celebration of aeroplane or Waqar's celebration of lifting his bicep and moving his fist close to his face is perfect.

Murlitharan loved to aimlessly dive like a Dolphin in the field for simple things which could have been fielded normally till he injured his shoulder in the 2002 Sharjah Cup final and his inability to bowl in that match cost his team badly. The doctors even told him to stop these childish antics. Same thing happened to Shane Watson who unnecessarily dislocated his shoulder in 2005-06.

Hassan Ali got thoroughly embarrassed by Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan in the 2018 Asia Cup and the 2019 ODI WC. He has done nothing of note yet. Needs to put his head down and actually achieve something before having such an ego and over inflated opinion of himself.

I mean I'd rather Hasan Ali's celebration then, say, Qais Ahmed doing frontflips and whatnot after taking a wicket. But ya, I agree.

I don't know if this celebration can affect his back. But he definitely shouldn't take the risk.

Anybody remember him doing this? :91:

And too bad he's being remembered for his celebrations than his actual cricketing performances - which you can barely count on one hand.

I wouldn't call being Player of the Tournament in the Champions Trophy "nothing of note".

Hilarious!

Unfortunately, our players are very good at mastering such silly celebrations. It should be natural, not something fake like this. Btw he never forgets to do his celebration, even when he is picking a wicket of a tail ender in domestic cricket.

Speaking after leading his side to their first QeA20 win:

"This is our first win in 6 games and this was a win we had been waiting for as it has lifted us and I can see that all our guys are really enjoying this win"

"I have been captaining my club and senior district sides, so I have had some experience of captaincy; I have also been playing international cricket for the past 3-4 years so I also learnt from that"

"I am enjoying captaincy; It was a challenge but I like challenges but thankfully everyone performed and we won the game"

"I am coming back from multiple injuries but I have taken 5 wickets in this game; Conditions were hard for bowlers but as a professional there is no excuse for not taking more wickets but things are getting better, day by day for me; Please keep on counting the wickets and enjoying my celebration style and wickets as well"

"I have been away from the Pakistan side for a while but am working hard to perform well and make a comeback, and to show my fitness to everyone"

"This is my second back-to-back game and I have bowled short and long spells, have run hard whilst fielding, and made runs also - so all things are getting better for me"

"

Who started this stupid celebration trend anyway? Shahid Afridi?

Brett Lee had a unique celebration way back in early noughties. Shoaib Akhtar used to run with his arms perpendicular to his body after taking a wicket.

He needs to keep working on his batting too , he can easily add good 25 runs at number 8 9.

A lot of people might come at me for saying this, but Hasan Ali is one of the best fast bowlers we have had in recent times. I don't think he can be the ODI bowler he once was, but in test matches, there is a sure need for bowlers of his calibre.

Imagine the bowling attack of Shaheen, Abbas, and Hasan Ali. He can bowl long overs and has good performances as well.

I'd be interested in him making a comeback on the basis of good performances in domestic cricket. He is injury prone now, kind of like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, so Pakistan Management should not make him play all formats upon comeback. He should play tests only in my opinion.

Hasan isnt a test bowler Does he have the fitness to be playing for 5 days on the trot bowling 40 overs in game and playing back to back tests? I dont think so

Neither does he have extreme pace or the height or consistentcy in line and length to be a successful test bowler

The pick of the bowlers for Central Punjab in the second innings was their captain Hasan Ali, who added three more wickets on Saturday morning.

The right-arm pacer took four wickets for 66 runs and his match returns were 5-114 from 32.5 overs.

He was quick and hostile and finally looked like his old self.
Great to see him back.

I get your point, but if I were to suggest a format where we have need of a bowler like him, it would be test matches. Anyone who bowls around 140kph is almost a guaranteed selection in the Pakistan T20I team, whereas we are much more "picky" in terms of ODIs.

Hasan Ali might not be the player he once was, but if he can prove his fitness and temperament through good performances in QEA, he should be considered for selection, in my opinion.

Why may he not be the player that he once was?
Did you watch him bowl in the just concluded first class game?
He hasnt lost his fitness, strength or agility. His issues were injuries and not so good rehabilitation.

He is still in his peak years and is only going to get better the more he plays, provided he doesnt get unfit again.

That's really good to see, and yes, I saw the bowling. He is vital for Pakistan if he can regain complete fitness. However, it really depends on what the new chief selector thinks.

Will he bring Hasan Ali back into the team following a very poor 2018-2019 international season?

I hope he is tried at least by the time of the South Africa series to see if he can still be useful, because at the moment, Haris Rauf is seeming like he wants to take over the remaining slots in white-ball cricket.

We desperately need a right-arm fast bowler in white ball cricket, and Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, and Hasnain are competing for that slot. He has international experience, and is a good middle overs bowler, which is why he is so vital. Almost all three will concede runs, but almost all 3 will pick wickets. Now it depends on the performances they put out.

Met him in a gym in Dubai about 2-3 months back and was working very hard on his fitness. Spoke to him briefly, has firm hopes of getting back in team and if he has a solid season and if he remains fit I believe he can. Also a useful 9 too with the bat.

I think that shows his character he had a very poor season in 18-19 also had a injury recently despite all that he wad committed to regain full fitness and actualy committed to play longer format that takes massive character.hassan has one 2 things on his side than rauf and husnain dont is that hassan is s decent batter better and is a excellent fielder if they wanted to he can become a decent all rounder but i would like to see him play for doesmtic games and not be brought right back in competition is going to only tougher with more youngesters coming throw

You build fitmess it doesnt happen overnight once he starts playing more games match fitnsss will be alot better

He can stil be a decent option 3rd seemer and his batting is also a plus along with this feilding

Not a fan of the celebration personally. Think it is a bit corny plus the sounds are a bit dicey in terms of what it may be implying.
