He got annoyed. Simple as that. But should have handled it better.

Although it sounds like a dumb question, it’s not that easy to answer it. Good that he didn’t attempt to answer.

It’s simple.

He thought he was untouchable after taking a rag-tag team to the CT.

He refused to work on his fitness, game, promote new talent, and was too scared to stand up to the senior leeches.

So, he had no response because he knew it was true.

I've not been the biggest fan of Sarfraz over the last couple of years. Purely from a cricketing perspective he's just a shadow of the player he once was, he hasn't done himself any favours by looking out of shape, and no matter what you've achieved in the past (see Dhoni), if you are costing your team wins in the present, or captaining a side on a serious losing streak, you are going to get rightly criticised.

That said, I really do feel for the guy. He does seem a decent and likeable person, but he's faced a barrage of criticism including some really ugly abuse. Whilst I think it would be right for him to step down / be replaced, kind of feel sad how it's all unfolded for him / us.

Good answer bhai Sarfraz.

Bhai, that journalist insulted Sarfraz in the face.

Who asks such dumb questions that did winning a tournament was our downfall?

Why should sarfraz even answer and waste his time on such a question when the intention of the journalist is clear that hes looking for a reason to critisize Sarfraz.

Yes, sarfraz has his faults as a captain, but alot of times Pakistani journalists and even Indians aswell ask such dumb questions.

It is the video of someone who does not know what will happen next.

It’s a stupid question and deserves to be scorned

Adequate response in my opinion. It was a dumb question and Sarfaraz was right to curtly reject it.

What response would anyone else expect?

Stupid question and a fitting response

This is the response of someone who knows the guy infront of him is talking crap and fishing for a cheap quote for his website.

We don't have anyone else that could replace him as a captain. PCB needs to retain him as a captain, but have a tough conversation with him. He needs to step up his game big time especially his fitness.

If you critically analyse the question that was asked, you would be thankful that Sarfaraz didnt throw that coca cola bottle at this "journalist".

Do you see him as a captain in 2023?
What are his personal performances like since last 3 years?

I feel for Sarfaraz but a non-performing captain is a sickness for the team. He cant command the respect of his team mates who are performing better than him consistently. Its human nature. I wont like to take orders from someone who i feel isnt at the same level as me. Having said that, Pakistan doesnt really have many options for captaincy. Really tricky situation.

It's getting ridiculous. Sarfaraz needs to go ppst WC now and doesn't merit a place in the team. That doesn't mean we need over over criticize everything he does.

Opinion based questions should be deflected. The correlation was purely based on the opinion of a journalist

I agree with you, but as you mentioned we don't have options. Trust me, if we had options then I would be the first to say remove captaincy from him and kick him out of the team. He doesn't deserve to be in the team based on his performance. What is more frustrating is the fact that he hides himself lower down the order so he doesn't have to bat. He is sending likes of Wahab, Shadab etc. to bat ahead of him so he doesn't have to put. As a captain and a player he is hiding behind the team instead of leading from the front like a captain should.

The only other player who I think could be a good captain is Imad Wasim, but he is not't even guaranteed a spot in the playing XI. His performance is a lot better then Sarfaraz so it might not be too bad of an idea to give Imad the captaincy in LOI.

Some of our journalists think no end of themselves. The question was a stupid one and got the answer it deserved.

It's reality. If pak fans don't accept this then there will be more downfall in test champion ship too.

How this isnt a valid question? I am surprised that most people actually support sarf. You want results but you dont want accountability.

Coming to think of it. These fans do deserve the frustration that came along with exit of pakistan.

You won't find me supporting much of what saffy kaptaan says but I get this. Thy have performed relatively well this tournament and the entire media has been attacking them. Saffycould have used even harsher words if he liked.
