Junaid Khan has a track record with his.
No sooner did he topple Kohli in "that" ODI series than he went AWOL for the last two Tests in South Africa - when he was the spearhead with Umar Gul injured - claiming that he had chafed the skin on his leg by rubbing against a door handle and it hurt too much to bowl.

Just throw akmal out of the team and select umar amin or khurram manzoor in place of him. ..atleast they are selected on merit..akmal is totally out of touch nd full of controversies. ..
I donr care bout Junaid khan he is a finished article but so is chota akmal.. this guy is the most foolish people around just o common sense.. there is a saying in hindi " bas chale aate hai muh utha ke' he is that sort of guy.. with no senses

The thing is, international teams can't buy talent. What you have is what you have. You have to manage the immature ones, not exclude them.
Hadlee & McGrath as well, but here JK is probably suffering from high fever for couple of days.
Instead of his body mass, more concerning is that how a pro fast bowler suffers from high fever.

Must be, but Junaid has never been close to having this much muscle mass. Always looks really too thin in my view.
Back on topic, lots of bizarre rumours flying around about this. Media having a field day as usual.... unnecessarily dramatised I reckon.

His food poisoning has nothing to do with him looking (very) skinny- thats just a combo of poor diet and lack of weight lifting. Food poisoning is followed by water/fluid loss and hence dehydration, so most of weight loss is in the form of fluid and can be regained within days,

Reports are umer is found to be at fault acc. to management, as a result chief selector is too angry on him and he is most likely to be dropped from CT squad.

All things aside, Junaid Khan looks like an anorexic catwalk model.. How is this guy supposed to run in and bowl fast. Heck he looks bulkier in my dp which is a picture from 5 years ago.

I think they will have to request ICC for that and give a reason for the replacement. So, i think he might get away considering the tedious process of replacement.

I doubt that umar will be banned or punished although i hope he is banned for at least a year. He pass his fitness test through corruption before pakistan cup. Must have too many good connections in pcb as compare to junaid.

I heard on a news channel that neither will be dropped from the squad. Seems the most likely output although I was extremely dissappointed to hear it I must say. Having Amin/Haris and Yamin would have considerably improved the squad.

As the report above clearly suggest Junaid Khan failed to defend his case.
It's incredible how people are bashing Umar Akmal even though he is spot on this time. Junaid Khan clearly faked it as he has done few times in the past as well. He just didn't think this game was important enough to play so he didn't bother coming to stadium. I know Umar Akmal should not have put it this way but people painting Junaid as a saint need to rethink. Junaid Khan comes off as thoroughly unprofessional player. An average bowler who got so many chances to become a good bowler but he didn't work hard enough. Look at his fielding, his batting speaks volume of the level of effort he puts into his cricket. His bowling didn't improve at all and he was replaced by the likes of Anwar Ali.

Umar Akmal comes off as a thoroughly unprofessional player. An mediocre batsman who got so many chances to become a good batsman but he didn't work hard enough. Look at his belly, his batting shows you the level of effort he puts into his cricket. His batting didn't improve at all and he was replaced by the likes of Mohammad Rizwan.

Junaid's only mistake was the video. Things could have been different if he had not done that video.

PCB decides to warn Akmal, Junaid
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to warn both middle-order batsman Umar Akmal and left-arm quick Junaid Khan that they will be suspended for four to six weeks if they do not improve their conduct.
The two had got into arguments when Akmal, while leading the Punjab team against Sindh at the Pakistan Cup in Rawalpindi, had commented on his team combination before the match in these words, “I am just told that Junaid is absent. I am surprised. The manager and the coach have informed me that he is not going to play today. This is shocking information for me as captain.”
Within minutes, Junaid released a video message on his social media account from his hotel room expressing displeasure over what Akmal had said.
“I am disappointed to hear what Akmal has said about me. He tried to give the impression that I ran away from the match. In fact, I am dealing with food poisoning and I have duly informed the team management about this. The team doctor has advised me rest,” Junaid said.
After the incident, the PCB had formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter, which has now completed its inquiry and sent the report to chairman Shaharyar Khan.
An official decision in this regard will be announced in the next couple of days but some sources close to the development told Dawn on the condition of anonymity that the committee had recommended four to six weeks ban on both the players.
As both the players are included in Pakistan’s squad for the Champions Trophy, to be held in the UK in June this year, suspending them now may cause problems for the PCB and it would be difficult for it to find their replacements.
Therefore, the PCB has decided to warn both that they will be suspended if they do not improve their behaviour.
“Yes, it’s going to be a warning for Junaid and Akmal. They now have to show exemplary conduct to avoid suspension,” the sources said.

Childish behavior from both but Umar Akmal was more in the wrong here, should have covered up for Junaid officially saying he wasn't feeling well or had an injury e.t.c.

Nothing wrong in what Umar Akmal said at the toss, as we need straightforward players. But we are not sure who was telling the truth. What if Junaid is lying? What if Junaid intentionally didn't come to the ground after getting dropped for the game? You never know.

Lahore - May 17, 2017: The Pakistan Cricket Board has imposed a fine i.e. fifty percent of the match fee, to Umar Akmal and Junaid Khan for their misconduct at the Pakistan Cup 2017 held last month in Rawalpindi. The Board has also warned the two players that they will be under observation for a month starting 18th May and reoccurrence of breach of discipline will lead to one month suspension.

I think Usman Shinwari, Sohail Khan, or Rumman Raees would've been better options than Junaid Khan. Actually maybe even Anwar Ali too.

Anwar Ali???
Junaid took 1 wicket at 169.0 with a economy of 6.99 in three matches at the Pakistan Cup. Anwar is the lesser of the two evils. He took 4 wickets at 50.3 with a economy of 6.15 in 4 matches at the Pakistan Cup.
I think Junaid will get destroyed at the Champions Trophy. Wahab's 111 is in jeopardy.

OK but Anwar Ali has proved internationally that he's one of the worst bowlers ever to take the field. Junaid atleast has some notable performances in India, against SL, that over against SA, etc.
