[VIDEO] Mir Hamza - How good is he?

doesnt necesseraly mean hes partially blind, i knew someone who have had non-aligned eyes but could see okay.

But don't people usually have a weak vision cause of crossed eye..

Don't know much about crossed eye.. All i know my uncle has it and it happened as his vision started to drop

The brain matches the image from the two eyes and comes up with the best possible image.. thats how it usually works.. my left eye is pretty weak but I can see very well when both eyes are open..

My younger brother had the same issue, it takes a very basic 20 minute surgery to 'realign' the eye. Eventually over time it sets itself into the proper place.

He has just taken three top order wickets against west indies, good to see that we have a lot good young fast bowlers in our ranks. BTW i know this thread isn't about his performance but i didn't want to make a new thread so thought i will add this here.

Was wondering the same thing today. Maybe he made a pose like that, but I think he is cross-eyed.

He has exotropia, outward deviation of an eye. Can have problems like double vision and loss of depth perception, but I'm sure he's seen a doctor about this.

A South African umpire by the name of Diedriech uses hearing aids. One day his hearing aid suddenly stopped working and he missed severral snicks. The payers asked him if he is deaf and Diedriech left the field rather embarrased

@OP
following that logic half of the Chinese population is partially blind...

embarrassing indeed! :(

This guy is playing today for the Pakistan XI, should interesting to see how he bowls

I wonder why he didnt get a chance at the U19 worldcup , infact it is very surprising that he wasn't a regular before the U19 world cup particularly in Asia cup and Saf tour , That guy is well ahead of Ehsan Adil and Azizullah in terms of swing (can bring the ball back at the right handed batsmen at will) , He is definitely 5-8k more quicker than both as he must be bowling around 134-137k today.

Looking good, lovely shape on that inswingers but missing the mark here !

but how exactly is he ahead of Ehsan Adil? that guy is getting 5-fers every game in grade-I league.

I am impressed.
Some times he was erratic, but then he also showed tremendous control most of the time.
I rate him better than Ehsan Adil or even Zia
And also he is better than Anwar Ali.

Pakistan has suddenly looking good in Fast bowling department with the following bowlers showing the potential.

1. Umar Gul
2. Wahab Riaz
3. Junaid Khan
4. Tabish Khan
5. Mir Hamza

mate he is 5mph quicker than him and gets more movement on a flat track compare to Eshan's movement on Australian wickets, Eshan may have more control but the primary reason that Ehsan is getting lots of wickets is because the standard of batting is pathetic in our domestic circuit which is evident from yesterday's match when our top FC run scorer this season made to look tailender by veteran cricketers.

well first of all, our top FC run scorer has got those runs in FC cricket, a 4-day format which is a lot different to T20s. His performance yesterday shouldnt belittle his achievements in FC, let alone dismissing the FC system altogether.

There is no comparison right now b/w Ehsan and Humza, the former is playing grade I league and Humza hasnt made his FC debut yet.

Hmm , let see who turns out to better in future , but in my opinion Humza has alot more potential than Ehsan.

In the U19 Wc he was barely 80mph.

Kabir bro,

What are you smokin?

I was at the stadium, Hamza bowled pretty well. He is well built for a fast bowler. And I think with a little hard work and fine tuning, he will be among the top bowlers of the country.

His action and jump is quite similiar to zaheer. Only problem with him is that at his release his head is looking down i.e. not fixed. Needs to adjust that but he was getting some balls to nicely shape in.

He should be playing FC cricket atleast and in couple of years Inshallah he will increase his speed to around 137-142K and will gain more control so he will definitely be deadly with those huge in swingers at that pace.

The talent is definitely there.

& Muhammad Saad you say that the batsman Ehsan Adil is bowling to are poor, how about the batsman Hamza was bowling to yesterday?

I bump this thread not because he did anything of note, but he's one of the (too) many left-handed prospects in Pak but don't seem to be talked about that much... he posted his own bowling clips recently, so thought I'd put them here for all to have an idea

he looks short, what's his height?

Here with :wasim (so in terms of height he's 6'2''-6'3'')

I tell you what his outswinger to left handers is a good one, swings it big.

That a big advantage.

and swing it away from the right handers at 4.03

Oh wow, this guy looks an absolute amazing talent!

The swing he is generating is superb!

Good run-up,nice gather and a good finish. Looks decent but needs to add 3-4mph to be effective at the higher levels. Looks around 80-82 mph at the moment.

That's not bad for a 19 years old playing uni cricket. He is deemed quite pacey so it may not be full speed.

Looks good but there are a lot young fast bowlers ahead of him in the pecking order.
He needs to do something special if he wants to be play international cricket anytime soon.

Finally it looks like Pakistan is producing fast bowlers again, even if they're (mostly) all lefties. Wasn't a great phase when Rana, Rao, Sami e.t.c were the best we had.

Looks OK in the video but I feel some are going a bit overboard. As you can see his pace isn't really troubling the batsmen and his line is too wide most of the time. Obviously pace and accuracy will improve but I'd rather at the moment we kept it to 'one to keep an eye on' than hyping him up before he's even had a good domestic performance.

We have some righties too: Ehsan Adil, Asad Ali, Talha and some U-19s (I.Shah, I.Dad), also Prince :p

This one's has been uploaded more recently

Don't saw his name in any of the QeA trophy matches. Why isn't he playing?

Looks very good talent,
But what is the standard of the match in the video, why every player kit is different to other.

decent swing but its predictable and hes not very quick. if he manages to up his speed by 5 mph the ball will start swinging a lot later and he'll be a lot more dangerous. add to that a ball that straightens and i think he could be a decent bowler in 2 or 3 years time.

Don't saw his name in any of the QeA trophy matches. Why isn't he playing?

check out his profile, he played 3 first class games for karachi whites then got dropped due to poor performance most likely. too 5/210 from 3 first class games.

decent swing and pace with nice action, if he works hard he will come into national reckoning soon...

I think his pace must be around 130-135kph which is decent given that he can swing the ball...

I dont know why he was used sparingly in U-19 WC he definitely looks better than aziz-ullah from peshawar

Yes, he definitely doesn't top the picking order right now, but a leftie who brings the ball in to the RH already justifies the fact that we keep an eye on him.
In the last video you can see he hits better areas and on FB he said that he's working on his out-swinger (he literally always chooses the in-swing, but you need to intelligently depend on both to be a Test beast :wahab), and if you add some pace - he turned 20 recently, he will obviously gain more peace in few years - he can turn out to be special (even if in his pace is not all).

There's an insane sudden outburst of talented lefties in our dom. scene, so much that I feel bad for him, as few years ago he would have probably been talked (if not hyped) a lot more... perhaps we should offer him to our neighbours. :nehra

Never seen lot of him, but from the few bowling clips not impressive.

He bowled mostly outswingers in the second video. Maybe mastered recently?

So, in Pakistan, among the younger ones, Rahat, Sadaf and Mir can swing it both ways :)

a young left arm fast bowler who can already swing it both ways. Amir, Junaid and Rahat and now Mir Hamza. What Pakistan gonna do with these 4 players? Pakistan cannot play all of them.

Add Zia ul Haq, Nasir Malik and Sadaf Hussain, all good prospects in that regard, the last one taking 5fers for fun for quite some time now but hasn't the pace and some say could end up like Samiullah Khan/Mohammed Khalil on intl. level (contrarily to Zia and Nasir who both have good pace.) Let's see.

There's also Nasurallah Khan (just got a 5fer recently), who is now old because he simply began quite late (finished his studies first) but was rated higher than Junaid Khan by lots of PPers, because he had more pace and Junaid Khan, back then, didn't really seem to swing it both ways.
Since then Junaid progressed though. :kohli

But, yep, an overdose of talented lefties right now!

Pak should trade 2 of these prospects to India for a good batsman. For example Rahat and Nasir Malik for Kohli.

Nasir Malik is never going to make to Pakistan national side with his Ganguly like speed

Lol get your facts right mate , According to his coach Sabih Azhar he was bowling around 84-86mph couple of years ago. So he must have add atleast 1 or 2mph since then.

Nasir Malik looked like he was bowling at around 84-86mph in the video that was posted a year ago lol.

Yes Nasir Malik's described as one of Pindi's fastest guns, I'd think he's more in the late 80s than in the mid 70s à la Ganguly.
Also he's only 22 he has time to gain more pace, now you should look at the tools he already acquired (swinging both ways) and his potential... they can't all touch the 150s at 17 right. :amir

MashaAllah. The domestic scene is full of fine prospects as far as fast bowling is concerned. The competition is hard and a healthy one.
Hopefully we will se many of them in PSL. With only 5 teams it is almost tempting to not have many foreigners as I want to see our own youngsters.

Looks impressive but raw...a couple of years with a good coach whom does not tinker with his action and he will be ready to join the big party!

Indians kitnaay phaast bowler thay kaalia? :)

Any videos of Nasir Malik bowling?

Tons on clips of Nasir Malik (and Sadaf Hussain) on that Youtube channel

https://www.youtube.com/user/MsAehsan

^date from 2010, probably pacier now.

I hope he gets a game but it would be difficult even if they choose only from the lefties dpt (Zia ul Haq, Rahat Ali & co but traditional hacks like Sohail Tanvir too T_T")... as you said, some competition.

if he can bowl at about 85 mph, give him a chance at international level.

Adil has already played, hasn't he? He needs to add 5-10 kph. Even if you are a line and length bowler, you need to consistently get it in over 130kph. I cannot recall how fast Adil bowled but i do think he can add some pace given that he is only 19-20 years old

Zia? Yes, by all means bring him in.

Wohhh that is huge swing there for both left and right handed batsmen

Is the wicket extremely helpful?

If you look at his recent games played, he is really starting to pick up wickets..looks like he has improved as a bowler. Still a long way to go. If he keeps it up, surely will get selected for the Pakistan team Inshallah.
