Every time Amir charges in to bowl to Babar in the PSL, the atmosphere crackles with tension and once again Amir showed who’s boss. It’s almost becoming a habit now: Babar walks in, Amir sends him back.

Even though it's one sided, I like the little rivalry; it makes the PSL a little bit more fun to watch

When a batsman is down, it can be really tough for him.

All it takes is one match winning knock to get back on top.

Amir seems to be all over Babar while Babar is oblivious to his technical issues for years but won't work with anyone to try and fix it.

Any reason for that particular reaction? And was it directed towards Viv|

Babar needs to thrash Amir really hard, as Amir has always made fun of him.

Currently it's not Amir vs Babar but Steyn vs Professor vibes

It's less likely that Babar comes out on top. Amir has always been reasonable in his criticism. Babar doesn't have much to bash Amir on. That adds a lot of mental pressure, on top of him being mentally defeated right now anyways

Babar right now is in lowest point of his career , he is very low on confidence.
Babar is at point in his career where teams have found him out hence the struggle. First it was Int Cricket , Now a low quality league like PSL. The honeymoon period for Babar Is over where he got to play back up teams all year and stat pad his way to fifty plus average

I don’t even know why this is being billed as some rivalry. Amir is way above the level of someone like Babar.

His true rivals in this PSL are guys like Warner and Munro. Proper players!

I’m more excited to see Amir v Harris. Maybe even Amir v Sahibzada or Yasir Khan later on. These boys will actually try to take down Amir in the powerplay

Speaking on a private TV channel, the former captain Younis Khan lauded the left-arm pacer for setting up Babar Azam before his dismissal:

“When Mohammad Amir was bowling the first over against Babar Azam, he was not trying to get him LBW out. The first ball he bowled was a bouncer, followed by a delivery in the corridor,”

“Amir used his experience and set up Babar very smartly by starting off with a bouncer. As soon as he realised that Babar is in his comfort zone, he bowled an inswing and got him out.”

Good to see Babar getting the heat now , but he has been unable to counter it so far. It is more of a mental block atm than any problem with his technique.

Fawad Alam heaps praise on Mohammad Amir, terming him as one of the smartest bowlers. Speaking to a local news TV channel, he said:

“As far as Amir’s ability is concerned, there’s no comparison. He is one of the best and the smartest bowlers we have had [in a long time],” Alam said.

“After Mohammad Asif — I mean after the early 2000s when we had big names — the two premier pacers we had were Asif and then Mohammad Amir.

“I believe after Amir, we did not get many smarter bowlers. Skill is something every player who represents Pakistan has. But intelligence — that’s rare.”

“Mohammad Amir knew exactly how to get Babar Azam out, and you can clearly see the pressure Babar feels when facing him,” he remarked.

“When a batter knows he’s up against a smart bowler, he’s aware that the bowler understands his weaknesses. And Amir makes full use of a batter’s shortcomings.

“The more you talk about Amir’s skill and intelligence, the less it feels like enough.”

Babar is a perfect example of a player who bought in to his own hype and never improved and took his game to the next level, as a result. Now he has regressed and I don’t think there is any way back for him.

Can anyone explain, why Amir has a grudge against Babar? I feel very negative vibes from him when he plays vs Babar. It feels like he has a point to prove to him. I don't remember Babar ever saying anything negative towards Amir.

Not a big fan of Babar but I feel bad for him here. He's being outdone by his biggest critic, a retired player, and someone who Babar kept out of the team.

That's got to be embarrassing.

Amir is not in Babar's good books either. He's been kept out of the team under Babar's captaincy. Amir does not agree with Babar's style of play and has criticized him on TV.

PCB overruled Babar when they brought Amir back into the team for T20 WC. Amir confirmed that he received a pretty cold shoulder from the team upon his return.

So, I think the grudge is from both end. Though Amir has been walking the talk on the field by owning Babar.

Theirs no grudge, he literally stated on interview that he doesn't take Babar seriously.

Why this OTT celebration when fixer doesn't rate him at all?

It is up to him now. Either he will perish , a lot of talented players have perished before OR he goes back to his childhood coach and work on his flaws for at least 6 months . In those six months just shut yourself away from all kinds of games and media.
