An extremely good player who gets overhyped by some Pakistani fans and overhated by his hater fans as well.

He should now separate himself with rizwan if he wants to have a solid comeback to his career.

I firmly believe rizzu ruined everything for him. Otherwise he was a great player.

I never viewed him as a Kohli level all format batter but he should defo be in the patheon of greats had rizzu not ruined him.

Their is still time however. Its time to take a stand and have babar regain his form in the upcoming wi series. But he can only do so if he kicks rizzu out of the team and out of his head.

Rizwan should stick to test cricket on a permanent basis as he is a pretty good test player but thats about it.

No need to spread his inactive and outdated playstyle in odi and t20.

I should have interviewed him

In fact I would have grilled him.

Do you think Babar will ever realise why he started flunking ever since Misbah became coach and Rizzu became his buddy?

Can he recognise this fact and just seprate himself from the crowd or use his influence to kick rizzu out?

The irony is that rizzu damaged him so much, that anytime rizzu gets dropped Babar goes with him.

Whatever he does or doesn’t realise,

By the time I’m done with him….

He will know it, and will seek repentance for his crimes towards Pakistan cricket!

PakPassion has just released its most powerful documentary yet — the definitive story of Babar Azam, Pakistan’s modern great.

🎙️ Told in two parts, this film dives deep into Babar's cricketing journey — the teenage prodigy, the ODI run machine, the Test survivor, and the captain who rose and fell under the weight of expectations.

🔍 What’s Inside?
📌 Part 1 – The Rise of a Prodigy:
  • From his LCCA and Muslim Club days to breaking records in the 2010 and 2012 U19 World Cups.
  • Dominant debut years — especially his iconic three consecutive ODI hundreds vs West Indies in the UAE.
  • Mickey Arthur’s belief and how Babar became Pakistan’s best across formats.
  • His heroic 196* vs Australia in Karachi — a knock that silenced temperament critics.
📌 Part 2 – The Captaincy Era:
  • His unexpected captaincy after 2019 and the “weight” it added to his elegant shoulders.
  • The duality of success and failure — leading Pakistan to two ICC knockout stages but crumbling at the final hurdle.
  • Shaheen vs Babar, dressing room fractures, and rumors of outside influence.
  • The heartbreak of the 2024 World Cup losses to the USA and India, Naseem’s tears, and Babar’s silence.
đź’¬ Join the Discussion:
  • Was Babar’s decline as a batter linked to his leadership role?
  • Could he have become Pakistan’s greatest if he hadn’t been made all-format captain?
  • Did the PCB mishandle a generational talent?
  • What’s next for Babar Azam?

He's had enough time to iron his issues and become a better player. He hasn't. Multiple batting coaches who have worked with him have confirmed his work ethic is poor, he doesn't want to get out of his comfort zone. His fitness has declined in the last 2-3 years. Accepting the captaincy and then stubbornly sticking to it ruined him.

I think that infamous match vs India in the Asia Cup is the big inflection point of Babar's career. Ever since then, Babar hasn't been the same and the team fell apart after that. Pretty sure that was his last century too vs Nepal in that tournament and nothing since.

I wish we could know what the internal discussions were like with the players after that because something definitely happened there. A lot of Babar/Shaheen chaos ensued after, the WC was a disaster, bowlers simply forgot how to take wicket and it led to a very dark period for about 2 years in Pakistan where it seemed like they didn't even have any meaningful Bi-lateral wins let alone success in world tournaments.

Truly a shame what's happened to Babar. He was a shining light in a devoid batting culture with the expectations he would go down as the best batsmen in Pakistan's history but he is looking more like a what if at this point. Still time for him to turn it around but he will need a significant upturn in second half of his career to reach the heights he once had.

There is a bit of this. Coincidentally ever since Rizwan made a real comeback and hit his purple form. Babar started to decline or at least wasn't progressing as we saw he was before in all formats.

I may have a theory in the making but for now that's all I can tell.
