[VIDEO/PICTURE] Mushfiqur Rahim loses his cool at a team-mate after taking a catch

No, it’s the fielders’ fault this time.

Mushi is often hyper, but he called it loud this time and that fielder should never have approached - I have seen players dislocating shoulders or loosing teeth in similar clashes. Mushi was loud & clear that it’s his catch (should be as well, he is WK with gloves).

But yes, instead of on-field, he should have actually landed that punch in dressing room - the guy could have learned there after. I am sure every coaching staff has taught him many times ....

I'm disappointed to read this post.

Mushfiq has acted like a professional buffoon, a proper bully, and he had the guts to do that because the other player was a nobody.

That poor guy's reaction to Mushi's punch says it all. His dreams of pro cricket crashed.

Mushfiq will never show this punch to an established player from a Test nation. He has a ton of inferiority complex and likes to bully poor kids.

BAN him for a few matches.

He is like this from his young age - he actually had a go at Mashrafee when Mash was the superstar of BD cricket and Mushi was a teen aged WK.... Mash was resting at first slip and attempted a Keeperes catch, Mushi dropped it .... yes, Mushi didn’t show punch to Mash. But, the guy doesn’t have the sense of who it’s when angry.

I don’t think Mushi or any BD cricketer will do anything such to foreigners - be as team mate or opponent. It’s not about guts or attitude, rather most BD cricketers are polite with foreign cricketers.

I am reading this few times here in PP - what infariority complex the guy should have? He is among very best cricketers of his country’s history, among top players in contemporary world in his area of skill and has led his nation in Test, ODI & U19 level, has played international cricket for 15 years now, has a masters from one of the top public universities in BD, developed a business with his bro in law and he is involved in several charities (that doesn’t mean i am justifying his act) - only thing that comes to my mind is guy is dark in complexion & 5’2” in height .... no wonder it’s a Pakistani forum.

He did something wrong, has apalozised for it and he is rightly punished (and be sure, BCB will deduct his amount - won’t return it back later), I think we should move on here.

I felt really sorry for the fielder.

He looks like a young kid, just making his way in cricket. I mean how will he have felt after that humiliation from a cricketer that he probably admires and has a lot of respect for.

What an idiot! You simply can’t do that to your team mate. Well done to the other player keeping his cool.

Big overreaction on Mushfiqur's part. Can't do that to your own teammate.

The fielder was at fault but way OTT reaction from Mushfiq. Things could have gone really wrong if the other player also lost his cool.

What I meant to say was he thinks of himself as superior and with the attitude that he can do anything with junior players or teammates. A bully to be more specific.

Bullies only prey on weak targets. Like here. The way he showed that punch to the poor kid trying to make his mark in BD cricket. Shameful.

My point, he'd never do it to a person equal or above his stature.

He thought of the poor kid as 'i can do anything because he's weak'. In that moment.

Now he has apologized. That's good. And you're now saying he's rightly punished while earlier you weren't saying he should be punished. I guess that makes things good.

It was a very very punishable offense . Glad we agree.

I never said he shouldn’t be punished- rather I actually said, he might get away without a ban because Raqibul is Match Referee.

Different players have different expressions under pressure, but that doesn’t mean you would take the opportunity to bash him personally or his team culture. For Kohli or Younis, you’ll see me writing same thing - highly competitive & hyper individuals, pressure often gets better of their good sense.

That guy actually said for a dolly like that you need nagin hands? which made Mushfiq mad :cobra

Mushfiq is known in the public to be a rude guy, Bangladeshi cricketers all get into their head. These nobody's become somebody then act like shahrukh khan. These mediocre players should be playing against hong kong, oh wait they even lost to Hong Kong. :ssmith

Nice guys are Mustafizz and Liton Das, other Bangladeshi cricketers are as rude and morally corrupt as Emran Hashmi's characters in movies.

If this happens in England, the Senior is in Jail for assault on a minor and that’s the end of his career. Also the guy may get beaten to a pulp by other parents at the club before the police get a hold of the perpetrator

This was early 2000s lol, this was the time when you appeal badly the umpire would ask "what are you appealing for ?" like a school teacher.

Kudos to the other player for keeping it cool.if it were me I would have beaten this midget mushfiqur to the pulp.

Here we go again, Mushfiq again threatens to hit another team mate during a game. This guy seriously needs some help.

This was in the same match I believe. This incident went unnoticed.

What did the victim do here to deserve the ire of Mushfuqer? In the previous act, I could understand that the victim tried to mess up a catch, but what happened here? Is Mushfuqer suffering from some mental issues?

The funny thing about this is the Bangladeshi players barely react to him, obviously used to his antics of him being all bark and no bite, and simply get on with the job.

Had he tried that with a marauding Shaoib Akhtar he'd have had his Keepers gloves wrapped around his head.

Most likely family up bringing issue. Either he as brought up like spoil brat (Lack of proper religion upbringing)or suddenly he became too powerful and rich from nobody.
