Took his time to hug Shadab and Shadab also obliged - no sign of any security chasing him?

Is this something which we want to show the world?

Nice gesture from Shadab, even if it was a bit dangerous. Need to have tighter security to stop these guys.

Mamoon was this you? :))

Wheres the security? Why wasnt he stopped

Huge security breach

The love for Cricket and his Hero is very laudable. Shadab also reciprocated with a nice hug. That man will remember this moment for his entire life.

Apart from the massive security breach, the broadcasters also showed his face on television. The standard practice in the world is that when a person runs on the field of play, the broadcaster zooms out and does not give publicity to the person so that he doesn't have his 2 minutes of fame. Other people will now be emboldened by this by thinking that we could be shown on TV as well.

As will the security teams of potential visiting teams.

I don't think Shadab should have hugged him:

Could have had anything on him such as a knife
Also may encourage others to run onto the field

Shadab and Hassan Ali are narcissists who love to lap up the fan adulation

Didn't Kohli do the same recently

You must understand the special circumstances in Pakistan

We have just about resumed international cricket with promises of presidential level security for teams but we cannot prevent an intruder from running on the field?

Whilst it is commendable to see Shadab respect a fan the concern is it could have been a terrorist or suicide bomber. Complete lack of security here.

Chill down everyone, they get checked top to bottom many times on different scanners before being let in stadium. You can't get in with any such thing like gun pistol or knife etc. And after they are in the stadium they can't literally stop 40,000 people from not intruding 100%, and we have those iron grills also in almost all Pak stadiums, even though this should be discouraged bit i don't think it was this big a deal.

He wasnt gonna stab or carry a weapon. With 10 security check points, it was not gonna happen.

Streakers exist in all parts of the world.

What this guy did was foolish because streakers in pakistan pay a big price. Guy is gonna get an FIR registered against him now.

Sports will always have pitch invaders. Pakistani stadiums already have the junglas built in to control such people.

However, you will see one off incidents. The police does make sure no illegal weapon is taken in. You cant even take in powerbanks.

Thus, after all checking, the fans in the stadium wont be having weapons. But pitch invaders are expected

Maybe the guy ran from the vip area where grills dont exist.

In other countries, pitch invaders/streakers get away, in Pakistan they probably get an fir and locked up.

Shot dead on live TV, khuch zyada nai hogya bhai? and anyways as said before, he could not have any harmful objects due to all the checking. Plz don't make it a bigger deal than it is.

From reports:

A fan, identified as Mohammad Waqas, was taken to a local police station after he ran onto the ground, breaching security protocols, during the second Pakistan vs West Indies ODI here at Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday.

According to the sources, a first information report (FIR) is likely to be filed against Waqas who was first interrogated by the local SHO for more than an hour.

Later on, he was taken to the police station in a police van.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official has told a media source that neither the board nor the International Cricket Council (ICC) has any law to deal with this case. However, local authorities are directed to look into the matter.

Look into = beaten black and blue to ensure he never even dreams of running onto the field again.

Ruturaj Gaikwad pushes away groundsman trying to take selfie inside team dugout

video featuring Ruturaj Gaikwad, asking a groundsman seated next to him to move away has been doing the rounds on social media. The incident occurred during the first rain interruption in the fifth and final India-South Africa T20I at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday, June 19.

Rishabh Pant lost the toss for the fifth straight time, and the hosts were put in to bat yet again. However, just as the fielders took the field, the rain started, calling for a 50-minute delay. As the groundsmen got together to ready the outfield for play, a snippet put in by the host broadcasters was shared by a Twitter user, and has been doing the rounds since.

Gaikwad was seen seated padded up in the Indian dugout, and a ground staff personnel sat next to him, asking for a selfie. Gaikwad can be seen pushing him aside with a tap on his shoulder, asking him to move away.

Gaikwad’s reaction could have stemmed keeping in mind the covid-19 precautions. Moreover, no one outside of the team’s contingent is allowed inside the dugout.

However, fans on social media were quick to criticise the opener for his behaviour, with some even pointing out the Chennai Super Kings - the team Gaikwad represents at the IPL. Interestingly, the MS Dhoni led side has won six Fair Play awards till date - the most by any team in the competition’s history.

Omg - talk about extreme overreaction/exaggeration. Calm down guys. This is a nothing story. Much more interesting things to discuss surely.

And then you have the likes of Jarvo who have made a profession out of doing this sort of thing.

I know people will say it's just a bit of fun, but it's only a matter of time before an incident like the Terry Alderman one happens again on a cricket field.

I think this type of thing shouldn't happen as it can be a security risk.

Imagine a psycho running toward the pitch to harm a player.
