Shahid Afridi not too happy the end of the match with Afghani bowler Naveen-ul-Haq, who whilst playing for Kandy, was repeatedly abused Amir during the match.

Amir hit Naveed for a 6. He also swore at him after he hit that 6.

Naveed kept coming back with his own profanity after bowling a few dots

They just kept going on and on. Eventually the game was over and they kept swearing whilst Amir was walking offf.

Afridi didn’t do anything, Naveed was complaining to him about Amir I think.

Even i would hurl profanities at Amir if I see him, so cant fault the Afghan boy too much there.

Love to see it. Any clips of the Amir incident?

Can we see a video of when Amir hit him for six? And all the stuff that happened then?

Finally!

I was sick and tired of all the laughing, jolly, happy and overly paid faces of cricketers these days.

Need a bit more of this please.

Some of these Afghan players are nobodies yet think of themselves as superstars don't they.

Afghans are new to cricket and don't know how to conduct themselves. They are also very volatile. They
go to pieces when under pressure. They don't have the temperament to play cricket. The other problem is
that they lived through civil war for last 40 years which has scared them mentally.Aggresdion on the cricket field is a means to vent their anger.

Their playere are a big name in big t20 leagues

What a sad day for Amir tbh. A new low. Beefing with random no name Afghan bowlers.

They are still very new to cricket.Yes they have a couple of good
spinners so what?.They are too volatile to play a game like cricket.
They even fight in the dressing room.Their CEO was sacked this year
on the grounds of misbehaviour. It was too early to give them full membership.

Good stuff by naveen.
Amir isnt doodh ka dhula wa, he often misbehaves woth players.

Doesnt matter how experienced you are. South africa sledged warner remember.

Besides knowing amirs past, hes an easy target for any player

cricket has lost the on field rivalry ...
i think there should be a series between pakistan & Afghanistan..
their last Match was a thriller..

The current India/Australia series is next level cringe at the moment

Afghans are too uneducated and hot tempered in general.

The thing I hate the most is the fact that they misbehave with Pakistani cricketers, despite living and playing domestic cricket in our country, when their own land was in a miserable situation where they could not even earn a decent living, forget cricket.

To be fair, some of them like Mohammad Nabi do appreciate that Pakistan and PCB helped them in their development in cricket.

Cricket is so much more fun for the viewer with rivalries like this, arguments and players swearing at each other. As long as when you come off the field it's settled with a handshake there isn't a problem.

Don't know why people want cricket to be this boring game with smiles and happy faces.

I think India vs Afghanistan drawn match in Asia cup had more thrill as it went till the very end and even then there was no winner.

Out of a 100 reasons for anyone to speak against Amir, I am sure you chose to do it because he dissed the man in your picture on twitter.

Ì think Afridi only asked what happened and then told him to cool down.

Firstly said: "kya hua?" en then "Thanday hojao"

Yeah I think the stuff about “I was scoring hundreds before you were born” is exaggerated. These Afghan/Pashtun cricketers are all cocky but they all respect Afridi

Thanks but no thanks.Afghans should keep playing with
Ireland and Zimbabwe until they improve their cricket and manners.
Pakistan C team can easily beat Afghanistan.

Thats not the problem!

It was first Amir who cussed out the bowler after hitting him for a 6.

No player would appreciate such language used towards him, and the two had a back and forth.

Its just in the heat of the game.

I have a feeling something was brewing during the match. Amir looked switched on today but still wasn’t any good tbh.

Lolz. Amir is a genuine final winner player. He has owned many so called legends when it was time to perform.

I'm sure if he was able to handle a big final heat, then he can handle nobodies swearing at him.

I've asked Amir what happened and things had been said by the Afghan player, well before that 6 by Mohammad Amir. In Amir's words "there was a lot of badtameezi from him".

Lala is very diplomatic. Doubt he would be making things worse. Also like you said all these Afghanis respect Lala.

Afghanistan is getting worse and worse.Dozens of people die every week
due to violence between different factions.

I watched the match live. Afghan bowler was shouting obscenities before Amir hit him for six.

This Afghan bowler was acting like he is an all time great. He is a club
level bowler but as people have witnessed these Afghans are very cocky.

This could be due to an inferiority complex or their domestic system.
There have been case where brawls have taken place on the pitch
during matches in Afghanistan.

He is literally the only Afghan player who looks like a respectful man.

Lol who is this guy? Never even heard of him, some 2nd XI Afghani player getting under the skin of Afridi and Amir? :))

Congratulations to Naveed/Naveen (whoever he may be).

This confrontation will probably be the highlight of his career. Here's your 15 min of fame boy, enjoy it.

It would have to take place without fans as the Afghans have shown that they don't know how to behave, and then you will get the wrong sort of Pakistanis turning up.

For the decades long Indo-Pak rivalry fueled with genuine geopolitical grievances, the crowd has never descended into the sort of lawless violence that we saw from the Afghans during 1 WC game.

Whilst I can understand people’s reservations about Afghans and their attitude in general, I do feel that this is simply a case of two cricketers who we’re getting over competitive.

Amir, from what I have observed is quite a fierce bowler when switched on, you don’t want to be dropping catches off of his bowling because he can give you a mouthful to ruin your day if you do so with his temper. Must have triggered this Naveed guy at some point because I saw him for a couple of games and I thought his behaviour was quite decent, he seems like a guy who just bowls, gets smashed but goes back to his marker and keeps running in.

I've asked Amir what happened and things had been said by the Afghan player, well before that 6 by Mohammad Amir. In Amir's words "there was a lot of badtameezi from him".

Is Amir a reliable narrator?
Afridi should be asked or some other team mate.
Afghanis are definitely badtameez but Amir might have let his ego get the better of him.
Can't really believe either Amir or Naveen.

But it does set poor example in front of young Aghanis when your another upstart is voluntarily trying to pick up a fight.

Don't think Afridi was feuding with him rather he looks to be playing an elder wise guy telling the newbie to cool down and let it go in sort of "bara strict bhai" way.

If Afghanis think of picking up a fight with Afridi, they may as well think five or six times.

There should be a gif of Afridi here. Could be a good meme material. Also a PP emoji of Afridi with that angry face.

Some of the previous generation of Afghanistan do respect Pakistan I believe. The likes of Nabi, Shahzad, Hamid and probably Zadrans.
The newer ones are more fueled with venom and think of Pakistanis as their enemies.

It was a good sight seeing Imad putting Afghani crowd in the place at the WC and Malik doing the same in Asia Cup.

I think we should let this slide instead of speculating the rrasons and bringing the attitude of whole nations in question. It happened , lets keep it between two individuals.

Why would Afghan players have inferiority complex?

Afghanistan has been destroyed partly by foreign invasions and party by
internecine conflicts.Afghanistan is synonymous with war, drugs, corruption, guns,
terrirism and blood feuds. This has a very negative impact on youngsters. They lose
self-esteem.To vent their anger they find scapegoats

I want to see some international Cricket between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Should be fun

Naveen Ul Haq is now retweeting childish insults on Twitter. This guy really needs to grow up.

Man...a Pak Vs Afg series should be quite fun. Why isn't PCB inviting them to tour Pakistan? They'll be much more competitive than Zimbos and also do some badtameezi just for the kicks. :ashwin

Watch the 18th over. Amir, after smashing Naveen for four, missed one delivery and Naveen started mocking him. Amir replied with a 6 in the 20th over and Naveen couldn't control his humiliation after that.

Well, I certainly missed it lie but a Pakistan vs Afg series in Pakistan will be really interesting. Afghans will get good crowd support too and it should be competitive too. If I cant have India vs Pakistan, I definitely need Pakistan vs Afg. Despite some peoples ego here, An Afg is a very competitive side in Asia and would give is a run for our money unless we prepare flat batting decks

There are still 3 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan
so they will get plenty of support.

I didn't watch the match so I was asking if Amir could be trusted as a reliable narrator. If you ask both, their stories would be different as it is always in a duel or a fight. That's why I said need to hear it from someone not involved in the fight. But I guess if it was this evident, then maybe Naveen is to be blamed.

I think the problem is with the younger afghan generation, the previous generations have almost been hidden away under the shadows of Pakistan, they now have a sense of independence and have started to do well on the cricket field which has inflated their egos, a lot of their players are being picked up in these leagues and all of a sudden they feel 10ft tall. I was at the world cup game the last time these two played, some of the scenes i saw there were absolutely disgusting, i hadn't even witnessed in a football match with double the amounts of fans fuelled with alcohol. Defo a rivalry to watch for the future.

Yep, can be the new India v Bangladesh.

India and Pakistan can see how good each other are based on how they beat Bangladesh and Afghanistan respectively.

And does that give their players license to behave like they do?

No, I don't support such behavior but to say that they don't have the talent or temperament to play Cricket is completely wrong. Their journey as a Cricketing nation is very inspiring and have earned their FM status.

A good message for not only a young cricketing nation like Afg but, also for some other young players. I personally like bit of aggression and competitive nature but that shouldn’t be done at the cost of the overall respect towards the game and opposition.

He is literally the only Afghan player who looks like a respectful man.

No he's not. Asghar Stanikzai was a good bloke, so was Mangal. In fact, the older statesmen were mostly a grounded bunch. It's the newer generation that's a bit unruly.

Mohammad Amir speaking in an interview:

"He [Naveen-ul-Haq] is a youngster and will learn soon as this happens when you are new to cricket; Even when I started off, I had this habit of getting into trouble with every other batsman"

"This is cricket and things happen in the heat of the moment - its nothing personal to be honest"

"If you look at me nowadays, I am very friendly with everyone; I dont sledge batsmen; One should focus on their bowling and all aggression should be left for the time when you take a wicket; Expressing aggression without a reason is of no use as a bowler, it simply wastes your energy which is best used in getting the batsman out"

Speaking about his six

"That's what I said, it would have been better if he had been putting his energy to get me out"

"At the end of the innings, I was a little riled up also and as you know the heart rate is already"

"Shahid Bhai was trying to make him understand that these arent the type of ethics we should have, that he should not behave like that with his seniors, that he should be a gentleman; This is cricket and you get hit for 4s and 6s but you can also get wickets"

Afridi doesn't get wound up easily on the pitch. This kid needs fo learn some respect.

This kid needs to show some respect. I'm not trying to be rude here, but his career is small and he's just a fledgling. This type of attitude on the international level will only get the ICC to impose punishments and etc.

Anywho, I want to see a Pakistan vs Afghanistan series, particularly because I doubt that most of our batsmen can negotiate quality spin. It'll be a challenge, but I want to see it happen as well.

There were some heated moments, but the Afghan kid overdid it.

Yes there is aggression and it's needed in cricket, but he was behaving like a lout and the behaviour wasn't becoming of a professional cricketer.

In fact if he behaved like that in some of the leagues I have played in, he would have had a bat wrapped around his head!

Is this true? True or not, this is a new low for Amir tbh.

I doubt Amir said that. Whatever you say about him, he isn't that dumb to utter such rubbish. Just the Afghan player looking to rally the fan base in his support.

successfully led Afghan U25 side to only the semis. U25 Afghans couldn't even win the U19 tournament :))

Yeah that exactly why I said they will get good support. Hope the series goes ahead

I hope not. Why would you invite a bunch of ill-mannered brats who have nothing but contempt against your team and your people? The less said about ACB the better.

Focus on bigger and better teams. We can play these nobodies and put them in their place in the world cups.

Very well said. There's no love lost for us by Afghani people. Let's keep our interactions limited to ICC tournaments.

No need to do them any favors. They should be persona non grata in PSL as well. Their behaviour at the world cup was appalling. The things their fans got up to does not even happen at India Pakistan matches.

Pathans are hot blooded people & easily wound up , this new generation of Afghan cricketers need to learn from the likes of Nabi & Staniczai how to channel their aggression or they’ll be in everyone’s bad books
