[VIDEO/PICTURES] Mohammad Amir and Shahid Afridi clash with Afghanistan's Naveen-ul-Haq in the LPL

This is such a big deal for this minnow board. It’s like their Harbajhan v Symonds fight

So this has now become a full-blown one-sided diplomatic dispute now.

Always is with this pig headed lot. I wouldn’t be surprised when the BCCI sacks them and moves its interests out of this country because of how complicated they are in dealing with matters. This is a board/ a cricket identity that is at liberty with reality.

Gets a bit silly when the National Cricket Board has to get involved to defend their player.

Well I believe it’s because they must feel offended as to how ‘senior’ Pakistani players have made their young Afghan player look so badtameez, and that he has no stature to sledge or argue with Players like Amir and Afridi. Clearly they are insulted and have therefore drawn up this list of club level achievements to make him look like a certified superstar of Afghan cricket.

Don't think Amir really said that. But PCB should be blamed to allowed any player to play in Afghan league.Their Cricket board along with players are too arrogant. Imagine if they win Asia Cup they will rubbish other team publicly in their newspaper.
Also our players don't have any self-pride. If Afghan Cricket Board is always disrespectful to our board and ungrateful to our previous support, why these idiots need to play their league matches for some $$$?

28 year old men pretending to be teenagers LOL :)) :))

'U19' should be the last straw ACB should've pulled to hammer home their support of an incident which was totally on Naveed (or whatever his name is). Not a single guy in AFG U19 team was U19.

This is ICC's fault. They are too lenient to ACB.

The Afghanistan players need to lighten up a bit. Not everything needs such an aggressive response. It doesnt look good. And they and their fans have had a history of doing this against Pakistan. It just doesnt look good

Some of these Afghan players are nobodies yet think of themselves as superstars don't they.
Does that mean they have to stay quiet while getting abused? When you dish out, you need to cope something back too.

To be fair, it's almost always the Afghans starting things.

It gets a tad embarrassing.

Afghan players, Afghan fans, and Bangladeshi fans are the three most emotional groups in cricket from what I've seen. With the former two being unnecessarily aggressive.

Amir has a history of arrogance and using unparliamentary language. His own Pakistani national team mates complained many times to the PCB and reporters about his poor behaviour and attitude towards them

Things get worse when people like Amir take this internet delusions to new lows by taking jibes at fellow Afghans in the real world, no wonder the two groups of people often end up rioting.

If what Naveed alleged is true, then Amir was asking for trouble and it shouldn't end there, the matter should be investigated, and if any witnesses support this claim or if it got recorded in stump mic then Amir should race serious disciplinary action for being a jerk

Having said that, i find Afridi the biggest culprit in this fiasco who needlessly thought it fit to poke his nose in the matter. You are a 45 year something retired bloke, show some maturity and try to diffuse tensions. Surely even Naveed or anyone in his place would listen respectfully if a retired ex cricketer talked sensibly. I am sure someone like Misbah, Younis or Inzi bhai would jabe done so much better. Umar Gul and Yuvraj were exchanging words, we had Sehwag and Akhtar going at each other often but Inzi or Ganguly would always get involved as senior cricketers are supposed to. To deescalate not to put further fire.

As for Naveed, welcome to top level cricket.

Not in a million years would Amir have said that lol, he isnt a confrontational person like that unless he takes a wicket.

Sounds like a load of tosh constructed to mask his own silly behavior, Amir probably had words but to imply someone is beneath another person is quite a serious thing to say, i don't think Amir would stoop that low.

He has literally match fixed, gone to prison for it and then retired from Test Cricket at a young age to focus on making money in T20 leagues but it's too much to assume someone this greedy and sneaky would say something so disgusting? Okay then

Kandy Tuskers won the match, Naveen had the last laugh. If Amir had not said anything disgusting to him the reaction would not have been so severe. He was going at him after the game has finished. Point is, something has been said to get that type of reaction from him.

Yes, Younis would have dealt with it smartly. I wonder if he would have dragged him to the changing rooms to beat him up or held a knife to his throat?

So he made one awful decision (match fixing), was punished for it with jail time and a long ban. And then later found that his body could not keep up to the demands of Test cricket after 5 years.

Really not as bad as your biased post makes him seem.

Words are exchanged on the field, people sledge leave it in the moment, don't start tweeting about it for 48 hours after the event making it a bigger issue then it is, then justifying your actions with some lame line about he said the whole afghan nation is under Pakistan's feet, that is just nonsense.

Your making an assumption if someone makes a mistake in the past they should be tainted and associated with any guilt going forward for the rest of their life, to me that kind of thinking is as bad as the sneaky behavior itself.

Many of our players are money hungry greedy individuals just like WI players and don't have any self-pride. How many English, NZ, Aus, Ind, SA players tried to book themselves franchise leagues from all over the world? They deserve humiliation. Still I don't think Amir would have said that.

Ah the romanticised notions of humanity suddenly materialising inside someone after a setback.

A Zebra never loses their stripes, Tigers don't lose theirs either. What I am trying to say is, people very rarely change and Mohammad Amir is most definitely not one of those that has

going easy with being "aggressive" ...

Afghan fans are hooligans and joke to sports fans... witnessed the bully mafia style at the WC-19 game against us .... they were pushing and punching children and women only to be taught a lesson by some Pakistani supporters when they suddenly started apologizing and begging ....

I have seen games in a stand filled with Indian, Bangladeshi, English, Aussie fans ... always had fun banter ... Bangladeshi fans are becoming much mature as well (they didnt start well too)

hope the afghani "wana b " gangsters can become better

There is no room for parliamentary language on the cricket field :)))

Lucky he is not a zebra or a tiger then but a human. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, your perfectly entitled to your own opinion if thats your outlook on life.

Surprisingly didn't have any words for Shinwari and Anwar Ali today, hammered in his penultimate over game won by Dambulla.

I hope not. Why would you invite a bunch of ill-mannered brats who have nothing but contempt against your team and your people? The less said about ACB the better.

Focus on bigger and better teams. We can play these nobodies and put them in their place in the world cups.

Your post is nothing but emotional. Pakistan and India have played in worse conditions. The arrogance of our fans doesn't match our performance.

The afghani kid is bang out of order Maybe hes wanting to put his name out there because lets be honest nobody had heard of him before this fiasco

Passionate fans of mediocre teams are usually very emotional and throw tantrums. Indians fans used to be like that in 90s and early 2000s. Bang/Afg fans will grow out of their immaturity with time and team success.

Told you Amir never said that lol.

Trust me, most if Indian cricketers will play all T20 leagues around the world if BCCI allows them. Also, there is not much money to be made in other leagues. Even Aus players skip BBL. Indian cricketers will earn more money doing endorsements in the free time. India is to cricket what USA is to baseball. 80% of cricket fans live in India. There is no real incentive for Indian players going out of India.

dont see anything wrong in that.

Amir did do a crime, and he will be sledge about it.

Look at the sledging that SA did against Warner....... This tweet by Amir is dumb, he has exposed himself to the world that his trigger point is 5 years jail time.

Hope more international cricketers pick this up and give it to amir. If AMir acutally does bowl well :P

The afghani kid is bang out of order Maybe hes wanting to put his name out there because lets be honest nobody had heard of him before this fiasco

He seemed a bit too excited and emotional right from the start.

As if this was his big day to make the headlines.

How did he get picked in a T20 league in another country then?

Not the first time ive seen his name either, think he also played in CPL and BPL must have something about him needs to calm down tho and not run before he walks

You have high hopes of Bangladesh there.

Pathans are hot blooded people & easily wound up , this new generation of Afghan cricketers need to learn from the likes of Nabi & Staniczai how to channel their aggression or they’ll be in everyone’s bad books

They wont be in india bad books

Unfrtunately Naveen couldnt play against Amir again because he has been dropped by his LPL team. :smith

As Team India and the Afghanistan cricket team both ended their ICC World T20 2021 campaign in the Super 12s group stage of the marquee T20 tournament, there has been a lot to ponder upon for their respective team management to come back stronger with improved performances for the ICC World T20 2022 in Australia that is less than a year away.

However, with not many crucial changes in the core groups of both the Asian sides expected in the near future, one can safely deduce that the nucleus of both teams under newly-appointed T20I skipper Rohit Sharma's Men in Blue and the Afghan skipper Mohammad Nabi will remain intact for the T20 World Cup next year down under.

Looking at the brighter side for Afghanistan, young Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq recently expressed his admiration for Team India's pace ace Jasprit Bumrah. Naveen-ul-Haq stated that he would be happy even if he became half the bowler Bumrah has been during his career so far donning the blue Indian jersey. Bumrah is one of the best fast bowlers across all formats in the world right now and is the first-choice bowling spearhead for skippers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The 22-year-old opened up on the tricks and trades of Bumrah that he finds inspiring in an interview with News9:

"I admire him as a bowler. Such a cool and calm customer of the game. The way he carries himself even in the toughest of situations is a great example to learn from. I will be glad if I even become 50 percent of the bowler he is. He is simply terrific," said Naveen-ul-Haq.

Naveen-ul-Haq then went on to reveal that he was unaware of the similarities between his and Bumrah's bowling actions as he heaped praise on the senior Indian cricketer for exuding a cool demeanor even during tough scenarios on the field.

"Even I didn't know I had a similar bowling action to Jasprit Bumrah. Before this T20 World Cup, no one had pointed this out. You know the similar load-up or the hyperextension. It was during the match that I saw it on the big screen that our bowling action was being compared and I was like 'wow!', there is indeed some similarity. After that match, people started to ask me about it. I feel the bowling action comes naturally. But the similarity is completely a coincidence," he said after seeing the analysis on the big screen during the match.

Naveen Ul Haq has opted to play for BPL.Good luck to him.He wasn’t going to set PSL 7 alight so won’t be missed. No one is obliged to play for any franchise league.Players are free to choose what is best for them.

It's pretty obvious why he opted out. Afridi would've put him in his place. He's a nothing bowler anyway so I don't understand why he was picked in the first place.

I hope he is not picked by any Pakistan team again.I have nothing personal against him.He should told QG about his unavailability when the draft took place.I don’t understand why QG picked him.

The attraction for any T20 league is how high they pay the second and third tier category players. Can't blame players in the PSL who got picked in the lower categories for opting for the BPL if the BPL picked them in a high pay category.

This is the first time the PSL clashed directly with the T20 league of another country and this situation.

If this does not push the PCB and the Franchises to improve the financials and economics of the league than nothing will

It was right to pick them in lower categories. For example Moeen Ali’s performance in PSL was very poor. The same is true of others.Money is the most important consideration for all T20 players so l don’t blame them for going to BPL if they are getting better contracts. It will have no impact on PSL because Pakistan has enough local talent.Overseas players are picked to make games but more interesting and give PSL a greater audience. They help PSL branding. The quality of overseas bowlers and batters is not better than local players.

In a recent interview....Naveen seems to have learnt his lesson:

“Shahid Bhai also is my senior. He just told me to be humble on the ground as such things send bad impression on Tv,”

The Afghan fans and several of their players seem to have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to Pakistan.

What they forget is that many of the Afghan players have been helped by Pakistan cricket.

Amir insulted the youngster Mohammad Harris the other day, today this foul mouth was doing batameezi with Tom Curran. Like look at the score board mate.... Got hit for 3 fours...

You can try to spin it any way you want; but Naveen ul Haq was an idiot on that day and was the one who instigated the whole thing.

Love Amir’s aggression

Better than hugging the opposition

Those hugs hurt the opposition more than this toothless frustration which you are apparently calling aggression. The fixer is probably the first player in the world to sledge every batsmen after they hit him for a boundary what a clown absolutely done and dusted that’s all he’s good for antics.

He has earned the right to abuse anyone he wants when bowling

In summer 2017, Mohammad Amir broke the back of India’s batting powerhouse

That clown was giving a send-off to an emerging player.😂

Rejection and embarassement from Pakistan fans have got to his head.

He's doing this drama against local players. I dare him to do this to Pollard or Hales. He will always be reminded of his past like Harbhajan did. #Fixer ko sixer

when Malik dropped his catch, poor guy couldn't react, he quietly walked back to his run up

He's a absolute embarrassment, shameless cheater that lives on one or two past performances forever.

Seems Naveen no stranger to such things on the cricket field. Problem child.
