Sunny looks terrific for his age.

Seems like a narrative is being build for India to tour Pakistan.

Sunny always had special respect for Pakistan Cricket. I remember during 1992 WC someone one in Star Sports asked Gavaskar, who does he want to win in the finals. He said Pakistan because they are our neighbors. I was really young and his answer made perfect sense to me. Now I understand that it was a loaded question and he was brave enough to give that answer.

He has turned quite bitter and became a BCCI cheer leader recently.

But yeah all of our elder generation remember Sunny G very fondly.

In fact, most of them rate him as Indias greatest player, ahead of Tendulkar.

Glad to see this sort of interaction between our players and Gavaskar. I have a feeling that we might be the final generation to experience this type of interaction between the two nations.

I remember when he was on the Kapil Sharma show with a retired Pak player, might have been WA. He was telling a funny story of Miandad taking the mickey out of some Indian trundler when Pak and India were playing each other.

These players had good camaraderie back in the olden days.

Look at Babar when Sunny is talking about shot selection. He is listening attentively. Thats the sign of a good student of the game. Always trying to learn something.

Look at the way Babar carries himself around Gavaskar, not only his words but his whole persona/movements, you can feel he has genuine respect for the ATG and is eager to emulate him.

In those days they had a fierce rivalry on the field, most of them used to sledge each other like crazy but off the field they were the best of mates.

Maybe because in those days cricketers, especially sub-continent cricketers, were making peanuts, thus they carried a comradery as nonwhite cricketers. Anyways both countries have gone to the dogs.

Once saw Krish Srikanth when he was admiring some Pakistani cricketers. He had genuine respect for them. Perhaps that moment made me watch Pakistan cricket more.

This is why Babar is a very likeable character. He is so humble and a brilliant bat.

Nice, everyone looking good and showing respect to the legend, except one guy not showing any decency , he is an embarrassment the way he carries himself and behaves, look him in the video clip.

Great, wonderful.

India legend Sunil Gavaskar met Pakistan captain Babar Azam recently at a private gathering. The former India player also interacted with other luminaries there, including former Pakistan player Mohammad Yousuf, who Gavaskar asked, “Abhi bhi aapka record hai na,1800 runs ka? Test cricket mein (You still hold the record no of 1800 runs in Test Cricket?) to which the latter nodded affirmatively. Yousuf is the current record owner of scoring the highest Test runs in a calendar year when in 2006 he played 11 matches, 19 innings and amassed 1,788 runs.

Gavaskar also presented Babar with a special cap signed by him and was also seen discussing shot selection with the Pakistan captain where he was heard telling him that there would be no problem if a batter’s shot selection is based on the situation.

Allan Border has always maintained that Sunny had the perfect technique for any batsman he has seen till date. I just wish Sunny weren't as ill tampered during his career. Would have saved him some trouble. I remember reading back in the mid 90's that he was so ill tampered as a child that his parents took him to a psychiatrist to check whether anything was wrong with him.
