Thanks for sharing the video, been looking for footage for some time. He’s the only pacer who impressed during the U19 One Day Tournament this year, the rest had okay-good performances but this guy was head and shoulders above the rest. All the other leading wicket takers were spinners.

5th highest wicket taker (top 4 being spinners) with 19 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 17.

2/26 in the final.

The information I have is that he is from a very humble background. I believe that his family are mazdoors (unskilled labourers).

He is rumoured to be pretty fast and was spotted by PCB coaches a couple of years ago.

Today he has been signed by Deccan Gladiators for the T10 League.

Big boost for him to get selected for a foreign league at such a young age and without any domestic experience.

Very rare to be signed just off the bat like that! Thanks for letting us know Saj bhai. Mushtaq Ahmed runs the show for the Deccan Gladiators, doesn’t he?

This is Zeeshan in 2017.

Actions similar to Hasnain

Reminded me of Hasnain too. He must be good to be selected without domestic experience. Reminds me of when Quetta picked Hasnain and this lad.

Well according to people around him this lad is creating a lot of interest amongst the PSL franchises.

Honestly we need to give these guys some confidence to express themselves. Compare this (possibly promising) young talent to someone like Pat Cummins and there are miles between them just in terms of self confidence. Its unfair and a real flaw in our society today where we prefer these guys as somewhat "miskeen" or pliable. Really up to us to back up a couple paces and let them express more of who they are.

Just compare the Mohd. Amir at 18 to this guy and the difference really is how he speaks up and expresses himself. Not being too critical I know he is young and may well grow up a bit but would have loved to see some more confidence and self expression, just my 2 cents.

Looks decent height, just above 6 feets. Because I know Masroor and Asad Shafiq are of similar height(seen them together in pic)

Zeeshan is 6 foot 2".

He used to look after his family goats for a living as his father wouldn't allow him to play cricket.

He's been clocked bowling at 140kph.

He was spotted by Mohammad Masroor at the Under 16 open trials in Karachi where he was selected and he then went on to help them win the title. Then he played for Sindh Under 19s and helped them win the title too.

Zeeshan Zamir- A real Prospect

I have just watched the lad, and he has a nice action and he is also quite tall. He will become a real prospect in a couple of years time. He was bowling well into the late 80s. Finally a right armer who isn't a midget.

Yes looked ok didn't he.

Ignoring the fact that he got carted for 23 runs in 1 over.

I worry about what a young player will get out of playing in such a tournament, apart from the financial benefits of course.

Will lose his natural flare, will become a defensive bowler, will be more cautious of not leaking runs, will lose his natural pace and will become another of of so many trundlers around.

Comes from a very humble background, no? I’m sure this is the first time in his life he’s ever gotten any notable amount of money, and this will do wonders for his family’s ease and convenience. That in turn can ease a lot of pressure from his shoulders and make him more confident about pursuing cricket as a career with the full backing of his parents. Many cricketers often retain a lot of financial insecurity especially in their earlier years and that often scares some folk from doing something with their careers (Jamshed Ahmed) or pushes them closer towards spot fixers and bookies.

Despite the shoddy performance, he has a nice mentor in Mushtaq Ahmed on hand and many top names all around him, which is good exposure for any aspiring cricketer and helps them feel more at home when they move up to higher levels of cricket. Hopefully he can pick up a thing or two from them and not worry too much about his economy rate.

Nobody is denying the kid a chance to make some money. He's entitled to earn a living.

My point is in terms of his development as a cricketer, what would a kid in his position actually learn from what really is a pretty poor 10 over slog league.

Decent height, run up, action, energy through the crease and pace. A lot to learn but decent ingredients at this age.

Again like any other decent young bowler or bowler we have produced in last decade, trajectory of his career will be dependent upon the development aspect and obviously his own willingness.

This is where national cricket academy needs to play its role and working with the players so that they can achieve their full potential.

The stats very irrelevant to me, i wanted to see a tallish bowler with a nice action and he had that. The exposure alone ensures that Sindh coaches cant ignore him and he will get a chance to play FC sooner rather later. An excellent young prospect, lets see how he develops as many have fallen by the wayside.

There are too many variables to mention but his intelligence, injuries, opportunities, are some of the most important ones, and ultimately these will determine his career.

To get in the sindh team you have players like tabish , anwar , sohail khan mir hamza their senior bowlers

Then you have shahnawaz dhani

Other bowlers are azizullah and the young muhammad umar

Too many journeymen blocking development of younger players like hasnain and zameer especially qea games

Preferably people like tabish and sohail khan need to retire .

As long as he doesn't exclusively play these types of leagues. He can just treat it as a bit of fun but then needs to understand that true development will come from playing proper cricket games. Even T20 games are better for his development than the 10 over rubbish but like I said it's a bit of fun. The extra money and exposure will help too.

These T10 type tournaments are literally organized.so that bookies can make some money

Just saying... Be safe

Good to see he wants to play test cricket , new shortcut to test cricket , T10/T20, Haris Rauf did it ( almost ) why can;t he.

I get your point but he actually seems young and his age...unlike the "17" year old tougher looking Nasim Shah.

What is he suppose to do right now? He wasn't picked in the domestic cricket so sit at home?

He is a good talent he needs to play domestic for sindh very decent pace for his age.but going to be tough to get into to the sindh team with husnain, dahani, tabish, sohail, umar and azzizullah

Move teams, Balochistan could be a possible team

Him along with Ahmed Daniyal are yet another cases of premature hype. Let them play handful of FC, List-A and domestic T20 games before giving them a ride in the hype train. Both seem average to me.

Picked by Islamabad United as Akif Javed’s replacement who is in rehab post surgery.

Islamabad United’s pacer Akif Javed is recovering from a surgery and will not be available for HBL PSL 6, fast bowler Zeeshan Zameer has been included in the United squad as Akif’s replacement.

Good replacement pick by islamabad hopefully he gets an opportunity to perform

Love to see how he performs for Pakistan U19s on tour of Bangladesh - high hopes for him.

He's been signed up by the same management team as Shaheen Afridi, Haider Ali etc.

I'm hearing good things about the kid and they feel he could be the next big thing in Pakistan cricket.

Why is he in the probables for u 19 squad 2022.He will be almost 20 by then. Are the pcb trying to change his age?

You can play u-19 till you are 20. If he is below 19 years and 364 days at the start of the tournament he is OK.

Talent Spotter coming soon on PakPassion.
