No comparison between Pakistanis and Indians as far as sportsman spirit is concerned.

You can't speak for how every Pakistan fan will react, so this yet another poor response from Sarfraz and it didn't make much sense anyway. Embarrassing!

Hehe it’s possible to ask a follow up question based on his comment that Pak fans won’t ‘boo’ Smith but cheer for him instead. The reporter probably was a nice guy :D

Ya looks like the reporter wasn't an Indian.

For people like you any word comes out of Sarfaraz mouth is embarrassment. He is the Team Pakistan Captain and representing the country. He can ask for his fans to do just what kohli asked his fans to do... Now if you don't like like its not his fault...:shhh:shhh:shhh

In my opinion really good answer. Didnt comment about Indian crowd and rightly so but confidently talked about his side of the fans.

That was pretty poor from Indians. They had no business booing Smith on the field. Pakistani fans will not boo Smith and Warner not because they do not like to troll but because of their indifference to the incident.

Another triggered Sarfraz fan, who cannot address the fact that his hero cannot speak for how every Pakistan fan will react. To cite that none of them will boo Smith because "Pakistan fans are not like that" is just an ignorant response, so yes it was nothing but embarrassing.

Who said he cant? He has claimed something on behalf of his fans. Now unless you wear a Pakistani jersey and boo smith in the ground, his statement is perfectly valid.

Ya Indians had the nerve to cheer while they played IPL and now booing ... as I said Hypocrites :asad2:asad2:misbah3

He cannot control the actions of Pakistan supporters. What people don't understand is the problem with this response is that, if he's turns out to be wrong (and a section of Pakistan fans do boo Smith), it will backfire and make him look like a fool, as he will be questioned about his pre-match claim (probably from the same reporter).

He knows his people. You have a problem with him knowing how his fans' nature is? Lol

Ifs and buts. Come back If he turns out to be wrong.

Pak fans are a rare breed, there is more chance of them calling names to their own players like “Selfie”, “Parchee” etc than booing players of other teams. :faheem

Post marked. Tomorrow will be interesting.

Poor Comments. You just can't generalize and judge it based on action of few people. Some people on this forum really hate and feel inferior and those doesn't represent their entire country. Similarly the people who insulted smith doesn't represent entire India

Indian have always come up short on sportsman spirit. Be it their players or fans. Examples are Eden garden incident, kohli saying leave India, dhoni wearing those gloves, gambhir saying don’t play against Pak, monkeygate etc etc

So we are clear - wont allow any remarks about Amir's past in this thread. Perfectly good thread gets turned into a slanging match and that wont be tolerated

Any issues go to MRR

I don't understand why these guys want to stop the heckling and booing. Smith and Co messed up, heckling is part and parcel of sports. The English with their costumes etc was hilarious to see. I would hope other nations fans make some light hearted jokes/costumes too. It makes broadcasts fun and sports overall fun.

I'm not saying abuse the players. However, light hearted heckling and booing shouldn't be discouraged.

What sort of dumb questions these are? This is not soap opera. Other day one idiot asked "Rabada called you immature".

Sarfaraz not one to mince his words. “Abey g o r a y.... sandpaper kahan rakha hai?”

Spot on.... I was at a Ramzaan tournament in the DHA Karachi stadium and all these guys Afridi, Gul, Shehzad, Hafeez were playing and whoever would stand next to the boundary would have his nickname chanted.

Selfie was the funniest since he actually started to take an imaginary selfie to respond to the chanting :))

Pak fans actually booed Imam when he was disrespectful towards Watson in PSL final. Indian fans wanted India to boycott the World Cup. Lol no comparison.

Has been the theme of the press conferences so far.

Journalists are getting dumber and dumber.

What is Gul's nickname?

We are good at self-deprecating humor, unlike Indians we have thick skins and can actually take some criticism . Most Indians, at least online seem to think that any criticism is a personal attack on them .

What does calling a cheat have to do with the sportsman spirit.
These Aussie players were rightly called out for bringing the game into disrepute and they have to live with that for the rest of their playing careers. What they did was pre-meditated and well planned. They need to be constantly reminded of that until they play the game.

Not seen the video..however based on a lot of the comments; maybe he could have re-phrased his words ever so slightly and add in something like respectful behaviour should always be evident.

Pakistani fans and players are at a different level. Be it sportsman spirit , size of heart they are the best.
Only exceptions are when someone started chewing the ball or when spectators disrupted the match that they thought Pakistan will lose.

Think Sarfaraz may need to worry about fans booing him - rather than Smith!

WE can't brag about our cricketers but at least we can proudly boast to have more big hearted fans! :sa

Agree and in the case of Smith & Warner, by giving these players a pass you are actually condoning cheating. Everytime, these Aussie players take the field, they should be reminded of their transgressions

How can Pakistani fans boo Smith....when their poster boy was Afridi....who liked to eat the ball

That wasn't the fault of fans. Plus, we've seen many 'fans' of other countries who never had the iota of self-reflection. So props to Pakistani fans.

Pakistan fans are saving all their energy for this Sunday.

I hope those Indian cricketers were jumped on twitter to attack Pakistan are given a good earful.
