A couple of those deliveries were rapid!

The batsmen showed poor defensive technique and the wicket was helpful but this lad is something to build on!

What i noticed from this video is that he is not ready. Has raw talent, impressive talent. But not ready. But that is expectef because its his 1st match.

Also some of the lbw decisions looked dodgy, and batsmen's techniques were atrocious.

Can't deny the immense talent though.

He is fast .
Shades of irfan in the bowling action.

What a damn talent we have at our hands here.
Junaids 9 wickets in his very first game and looks not a day older than 18 (I met him). What do you make of him?

How does he remind you of Asif? I see no similarity between the two.

By watching the video, definitely, has the talent. Some of those lbw decisions were questionable. The pitch was favourable to pace bowling, want to see how he does on surfaces that are not so conducive to fast bowling.

I don't think anyone has been so excited about such a young fast bowlers since the days of Amir.

MMHS..3rd wicket..the ball swung in the air??

More than swing, he is using his height exceptionally well. I can see only the wicket taking balls, but most of the batsmen are caught in between forward & backward movement, which indicates, he must have set them with shortish staff & then put one up on target. And, he can bowl round the wicket.

Kid should be on board to the flight of Auckland ..... Need a little polish on run-up & delivery stride, then he'll be able to bring the ball in (his out swing) even more late - but that won't happen in QEA, needs pros to work with, only way he can get next level guidance, if he is with PAK team. And, hopefully kid can avoid Aaquib Javed - he'll fix his bowling style ...... at the cost of bowling skills.

A few jaffas in there but what about the atrocious techniques. Club level batsmen.

Can't take anything away from an 18 yr old boy.

Kid is incredibly raw but I feel he is once in a generation talent

He needs Azhar , Waqar or Wasim.

As others have pointed he is using his height properly unlike many tall pacers.

needs some work on his non bowling arm

He recently signed 1 crore deal with BPL for two sessons.

You wouldn't sign someone for that much if he isn't that good enough

Looks good... definitely aided by green top and dodgy techniques/umpiring decisions. Let's see how he grows from here. Definitely not a finished product yet.

What an exciting talent this lad is.

Yes some of the shots weren't great but to take 8 wickets on debut at such a young age is brilliant.

Looks a great find.

A couple of those deliveries where sped up by whomever edited this video. 0:27 and 0:40 are examples.

This fast forward effect is so annoying . Totally misjudged the bowling speed at a quick glance through the phone screen .

What a green top

The wicket is not bad, just very pace friendly green top but a good wicket. I have played lots of cricket in Rawalpindi and wickets there for couple of months after the rainy season are hard and green, most of the time.

Agree, awful batting and not so great umpiring, but good bowling nevertheless.

Agreed but hey, if there was ever a Pakistani cricketer whose age is not up for debate, it's this guy. In fact, I suggest he grow a beard otherwise people are gonna pull his cheeks off.

Pretty good talent. Would like to see him in Pak squad in an year's time. Probably he can get in after PSL, who knows. As he can grow into a better cricketer by being with the Pak squad.

At such a young age he knows when to give it a push as we can see couple of deliveries were pretty fast and he knew he cant ball with same pace from the start of the day till the end.

This guy is getting attention from Indian media like times now also about the debut spell.

Couple of the wickets were not out and no foot movement from the rest of the batsmen.

If he wants to be selected in national team then he must continue playing in domestic and reject all t20 leagues

What makes you say that? T20 Leagues have more media coverage and the quality of cricket is also higher there. Playing against other international stars in front of bigger crowds will improve bowlers more than playing against some low quality batsmen in empty stadiums.

People writing him off already from the comfort of their armchairs - amazing.

Give the kid a chance, let's see how he does.

many people expected his pace to be higher, around 140...

Looks like a trundler tbh.

"Tbh" . Yeah sure.

He looks anything but a trundler. Pace is there surely, perhaps not 90 mph like he was touted to be but we can never be sure without the speed guns. And these are just wicket balls..we havent seen entire spells of his to have an idea of his pace. Not a finished article by any means but then its his debut and he is 17.

Honestly, the same posters who write off young talent are the same people who complain about Pakistan playing TTFs.

Green mamba.
Batsmen were so poor in technique.
I am not so excited. But this lad is talented no doubt.

Danny Morrison on commentary just mentioned that Waqar showed him this video. Was impressed.

The criticism is ridiculous and attention seeking. Folks - he's a kid. What do u expect? 90mph yorkers and crazy swing every ball?? Imagine a video of an 18 year old wasim, waqar, holding, lillee, marshall etc etc. You would see raw talent and some faults. This video shows poor batting, poor umpiring and a bowler friendly wicket. It also shows a kid with all the raw ingredients required to make a great bowler. The pace will improve without doubt. The run up needs working on. He has a great deal to learn. Am i excited? Yes! The talent is there.

Give him a chance.

Impossible to tell how quick he is bowling unless we have some experts on bowling speeds with the naked eye.
