Mechanics are pretty good for someone of his height and age. Why do they have to ruin the video by speeding it?

Some of these deliveries have been sped up so much it is beyond funny, but he definitely ticks some boxes.

Who is he playing for at the moment?

I wanted to ask you why do you think Ehtesham is still ignored by LQ?
Now they have Shoaib too. Do you think he will get a chance soon?

Aaqib Javed goes from saying Ehtesham is ready to play for Pakistan a year ago to not even selecting him for the Australia tour.

He had just come back from injury so his pace was down during the RS tournament but still can't believe they ignored him.

I like Aqib for few reasons i pointed in some other threads but bnda over ho jata hai.
Ehtesham will play for Pakistan, Salman will pay for Pakistan, xyz is 150+ etc etc. Bhai thora haath hola rakho.

I don't know man. Unless Aqib makes a case for him or someone influential spots him, I don't see any immediate chances. But this is Pakistan, things could turn around in a matter of months if someone claims to "discover" him.

Bowling on brown wicket in Pakistan domestic cricket must be 1st in the last decade. This lads basics are decent with a nice gather but the left arm is hardly used. As with these so called talented players, it seems that the only place they are seen on a bigger stage is the PP website. Some day the PCB will actually do its job and organise cricket in Pakistan.

I saw this video yesterday evening and was about to post it here for comments, he seems pretty good...raw but has some swing and knows how to seam both ways, plus a very tall guy for his age as well!

We need someone besides Aaqib to work with him because all the ones who have worked with him are usually all hype but no actual results at all

If we're to have any chance of winning a series in Australia, we desperately need some tall fast bowlers who can hit the deck hard and extract bounce from a good length.

Hope this guy is properly developed.

Hope he gets the right type of coaching to help him.

Too often these bowlers get in the worng hands and disappear.

He needs to look after his back. Not get injured and remain fully fit. He will be an asset for Pakistan.

Why is he not playing in the Regional Cup?

Or why wasn't he selected in the U19 squad?

Maybe Aquib Javed got to him before we could save him.

Another one lost to the 'expert'

Looks really impressive. Hopefully one day we'll see this guy and Shaheen Shah Afridi open the bowling attack for Pakistan. :akhtar

These guys this tall WILL hurt their back- happens to almost every fast bowler.

All depends how much you support them to bring them back. McGrath and Starc both had back issues as youngsters. But the support from the board for rehab was there. In the 80s Oz lost 6’8 Bruce Reid, lefty who could swing a brick both ways because of no support. Back when we were desperate for fast bowlers too.

Arguably if WI had looked after Ian Bishop their reign may have lasted 5 more years as an Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop trio.

Need to keep this kid in the system even if he struggles for a couple of years.

Not sure about 6'8" (that's 2.03 metres!!), but kid is definitely tall enough, probably more than enough. Nice, clean action, though not sure if it's good for his back. Looks too lanky for a pacer, but time is in his side - if he is genuine 18 (may be 1/2 years in it), indeed lot can be done. AT that height and high arm action, if he can hit the seem at even 134KM on business spot, awkward customer to handle.

I wish he is focused on using the new ball - at his physique, trying to master conventional PAK old ball tricks might end his career even before starting seriously. Long back, SAF had a pacer in early 1980s - Vincent Van Der Bijl, similar height and a bit of high arm action, but at most fast medium; ended career with almost 900 FC & List A wickets, many for Middlesex for a combined average of around 17!!!!!

Don't see why Shaur Ahmed is not part of any PSL franchise.

If IK was part of any franchise and would have seen him just once than Shaur would have been running in.

NCA wakeup and atleast call him to High performance centres. This is high time to work on his fitness and make him a real deal in next 2-3 years.

Hasnain, shaur and Shaheen. Future bowling of Pak looks mouth watering☺

Hope he gets the right type of coaching to help him.

Why wasn't he part of the NCA Camp?

Curtly Ambrose was one exception I think who remained fit all through his career, Courtney Walsh was relatively injury free as well

Hasnain, Shaur need to be developed like Shaheen. Need to be playing domestic cricket regularly.

Yes Arshad & Musa are talented but Musa is short.

I see more potential in Hasnain and Shaur compared with Musa and Arshad.

Musa is already bowling at around 90 MPH. In the India U19 match he looked to be a proper fast bowler. Bowled with aggression and intent. Bowled Rapid Bouncers and yorkers. Musa/Hasnain if groomed properly will provide competition to Hasan Ali and Arshad Iqbal to Mohammed Abbas in tests.

Junaids Have you seen this thread? This lad, Shaheen and another tall pacer ( maybe Arshad 6'4") should form the pace attack in South Africa when Pakistan tour. They seem tall enough to succeed . Your thoughts?

It's a matter of time that this guy picks up a 10+ wicket haul on the green mamba pitches of Pakistan!

He certainly has all the raw materials.

Needs to be fast-tracked into the national squad.

He should be, but he won't be. Apparently, he won't be ready until he's played domestic cricket for a few years, had his action changed to please those on here who obsess over such things, dropped two yards in pace and been injured several times. I understand the fear of blooding youngsters in tests, but T20Is and ODIs? You're losing in the latter format regularly, how much worse can it get?

Saj are management aware of him?

At the very least he could be a useful net bowler in light of the upcoming test series (the rest is up to him).

Saj any idea about his development at NCA ?

Is he unfit at the moment ?

Aqib Javed will transform him into a 5'8" back of a length guy somehow.

With fast bowlers dominating PSL this year, such a shame he is not featuring. Anyone know what the latest on him is?

a bit off topic .yesterday karachi king 12th man was ali imran do you any detail about him?

dont see why people are really fussed, the psl shows good fast bowlers get a chance eventually.

pak have shaheen to play the role of the tall hit the deck seamer if needed. dont need another XL bowler, need pacey, technical bowlers, and this kid doesnt look all that quick.

Big difference between 6'4 and 6'8. Accurate bounce at 6'8 is pretty much unplayable.

shaheens taller than 6'4' im pretty sure, even still, the fact has he has disappeared means either he ain't quick and /or accurate, without which his height is pointless.

has he ever even played a professional game?

Shaheen is 6’6, heard a commentator say that.

Has he played any domestic cricket last season?

He's 18 and 6'8. He's got plenty of maturing to do.

Shaheen is 6’6, heard a commentator say that.

Bishop is 6'5. He said Shaheen is 6'4.

Saj any chance you can show Mudassar Nazar this footage please? Shaur should be fast-tracked to NCA.

Was my class fellow in school, never thought he would reach there, but given the fact that we are facing great dearth of batters, he may as well get into our side.
Relies more on conventional shots, there is nothing outrageous about him, but given that fact that he has been groomed and educated properly, he might just be good enough.

I guess in class 5 he didn't score well in mathematics, and on open day (result day), his father said to the teacher that he want to make him a cricketer and that marks don't matter that much. His family has been extremely supportive throughout his life, and father also owns a club I guess.

PS: Being one of his fellows, I dearly hope, that he turns out to be good enough and makes our school/college proud.

He plays for PTV and played in a televised match recently i think semi final of one day cup where he scored 100 off 60 balls and then got selected for Pak A too though the innings was scratchy.

Personally he doesnt look special too me and has technical flaws.

Cool.

Which Islamabad school are you talking about?

I hope we get some world class player from Islamabad soon. We have a few players now playing in PSL who are from Islamabad like Imad Wasim, Musa, Haris Rauf and Ali Imran.

Ohh I think i got it who he is. Did hear about him.

I studied in Islamabad College for Boys G-6/3. Sadly we havent produced a u-19 / A team cricket player but have produced few musicians lol.

There is another batsman Shahid Ilyas from Islamabad Model college for Boys G-10/4.

We've never really had tall fast bowlers who can bounce batsmen out in our history. Our pacers have tended to rely on movement than hitting the deck hard.

However the development of bowlers like Arshad Iqbal, Shaur Ahmed and Mohammad Hasnain is intriguing. Bowlers like this will allow us to compete in places like AUS and SA where you cannot rely on swing with the Kookaburra ball.

Where the heck is he ?

Maybe he has left cricket and have joined a uni or something. No trace of him.

Shaur was out for most of last year due to.... you guessed it, stress fractures of the back. He had no coaching and no help with fitness, that's what happens with the existing cricket system in Pakistan. If you're at the NCA, you have a chance. Otherwise, you don't.

Anyway, he worked on his fitness with a PCB doctor (hopefully that's a good thing) and is back to full fitness now.

He was told by coaches to work a bit on his action to avoid injuring himself again so he's working hard on that. Using his left arm more in his action now. He still needs to follow through straight and avoid falling away but he seems to have identified that as an issue. However, he's doing this on his own, pretty much.

The sad thing is that he was all set to appear at NCA after impressing someone in the set-up, but he got injured just a day or two prior to the scheduled appearance at NCA. Since then, he hasn't really been in the picture. And below that level, the support and coaching system is just woeful.

We need to start sending coaches abroad for training, or tell the NCA coaches to train them.

This guy could turn out to be a menace if he can find some decent coach to support him.

Waiting for this guy to be groomed and come into picture along with other young impressive pacers we have got.

Did he get into any 2nd eleven?

Unfortunately, he is out of the picture at the moment. He's training hard and taking part at his local club games though, but there is no substitute for match practice and competitive cricket...
