Given the current chaos surrounding the 2026 T20 World Cup, your question is being echoed by many frustrated fans. We are seeing an unprecedented breakdown: Bangladesh has been replaced by Scotland after refusing to travel to India, and Pakistan has officially announced they will boycott their marquee match against India on February 15th while still playing the rest of the tournament in Sri Lanka.

Whether the tournament should be cancelled is a massive debate—on one hand, the "spirit of cricket" feels broken; on the other, millions in revenue and the dreams of 18 other nations are at stake.

What do you think guys, what should happen next?

It’s not my call and it doesn’t really bother me but Arnab Goswami is the one calling for the World Cup to be cancelled.

It's up to Indians.

If they have any national pride, and dignity, respect for their citizens and respect for their dead, they can listen to Arnab and refuse to host and say we will no longer tolerate these open palm slaps from Pakistanis and Bangladeshis.

You do realize when his relationship with the government is back where it was a few months ago he’ll say something totally different? 😃. Stop watch the media circus.

He is a patriotic man and his patriotism is burning brightly here brother. He is known as the voice of India for a reason.

International sport doesn’t need to be under one nations control. Play this tournament as people need to make a living , then immediately withdraw from the ICC . Take 3/4 nations with you , the ICC will collapse. Nations can play bilaterals, more test cricket, taking out the circus . Players will be free agents , like the Bosman ruling , allowing them to leave and play anywhere . It’s just a matter of time ny

The irony is that this is what the cult want to hear and not want to hear at the same time. I think they call this quantum entanglement.

PS. Not palm slaps, but chitar bata chapals.

To be honest it seems like a bit of a farce at the moment. I wouldn't mind if the whole thing just got cancelled.

Also there has been barely any build up at all. If you take the 'Will Bangladesh come?' thing out then that 'barely' would have been nothing. It seems nobody is even particularly excited by this tournament so it won't be a huge loss to the world if it gets cancelled.

This World T20 got way too much hyped due to recent controversy. Lol :klopp :kp

Although we will miss Bangladesh every day @sweep_shot Brother whatever happened to your team was wrong and I condemn it.

Thanks. :inti

All the anti-Indian sentiments aside, I think there are too many ICC events. They are arranging 6 ICC events every 4 years (including the 2 WTCs). That's simply too much.

Interest gets diluted.

I think ICC should scrap Champions Trophy, have 1 ODI WC every 4 years, have 1 World T20 every 4 years, and have 1 WTC final every 4 years. There should be 3 ICC events every 4 years instead of 6.

World t20 will happen every 2 years due to money involved but name should be changed to t20 international trophy or something similar as its not seen as a proper world cup. Champions trophy should be put on hold for next 5 years tests should stay the same as at least bilaterals between 2 lower ranked teams have some value currently.

Too many ICC events.and yet BCCI failed to win any silverware during peak BCCI years.

Indians wanted more ICC tournaments so they could win and show off, yet have nothing to show for it but a begging bowl.

CT should be scrapped.
WTC should be 4 years long.

This can make things more appealing.

LOL. Yup.

Last 13 years, they have only won 2 ICC trophies (one was A Micky Mouse T20 Cup and another was a rigged CT). :inti

A lot of pakistanis, particularly the overseas ones, love watching Arnab Goswami - tis a kind of stockholm syndrome I guess.

Alot of indians like yourself come over to a pakistani website. If thats not stockholm syndrome than i dont know what is.

Thing is, Goswami is an indian. He represents india on the media

He represents India quite well actually. It represents the absolute jingoistic and absolute maniac level of Indian nationalism quite well, which is now quite common in many Indians

No, he doesn't. He used to have a certain kind of prominence maybe a decade ago.

He is mocked by a lot of Indians these days for his blind pro-govt views. Maybe the Modi fans follow him.

Yes he does. Arnt the Modi fans in majority in India?

I don't think that is true. Current govt is a coalition government, not purely BJP. But I defer to the wisdom of @Red-Indian @Bhaijaan @Bhaag Viru Bhaag @Devadwal on how popular Modi and his politics is.

Social media gives you the impression that everyone is pro-Modi but a lot of it is his hired hyper-active IT cells too.
Modi has done a lot of good things, especially for the infrastructure, defense, trade, economy and on the reduction of corruption (will always remain a work in progress) but under him we have also witnessed a division in the society where he needs to do better to bring all Indians together regardless of all kinds of divisions. And no, not everyone is a Modi bhakt regardless of how you guys perceive Indians to be. Think of it this way- there are many who like Imran Khan but there are many others who don’t.
A perfectly healthy democracy is one that doesn’t just survive, but thrive under different opinions, perspectives, and diversity. We have some way to go before we get there.

No.

Just because Pakistan wants it ( BD is irrelevant)?

The event will happen, fans will enjoy it, even if Pakistan boycotts it entirely.

Of course Pakistan will be missed, but don’t overestimate your importance.

I don't trust the news on these 'good things' that Modi has done given how huge chunks of the Indian media are controlled by Modi-friendly billionaires and the independent/adversarial outlets are harrased by his government's tax and police agencies.

Nobody should - the results must speak for themselves. Perhaps we could discuss this in TP. Don’t want to derail the thread.

Hahaha... indian now crying for cancellation... what a fall this is for them

Moye moye moment

Here's how a toddler begins when they want to get attention.

They start by making a lot of noise and screaming. The adults ignore them.

Then they try touching you or pulling your clothes. The adults ignore them.

Then they cry and pretend to roll on the floor, about how adults are totally unfair to them - the adults ignore them.

Then they say they are leaving the house and will go - the adults ignore them.

And finally when they still don't get the attention, they want to break things and spoil the entire thing.

Pakistan fans think exactly the same way .

This guy is hilarious. He's like one of the dumbest presenters I've ever seen. He is doing well for himself though....getting a lot of views with his drama.

This applies to india more than anyone else

First it was the loud noise we’re the richest board, we run cricket, we pay everyone.

Then came the pulling the clothes tactics ie hybrid models, venue demands, picking and choosing like the rest of the world exists to accommodate you.

Then the crying and rolling on the floor a d threatning to leave the house theatrics IE handshake stunts and dramatic statements about not wanting to play Pakistan. All performance, no backbone.

Finally the slap by an adult to put the child in its placse: when BCB refused to visit india and Pakistan stood firm about not playing india, Suddenly the chest-thumping and claming to control didn’t look so intimidating.

🤣🤣🤣

Bcb has been kicked out of the world cup

Pcb has committed harakiri, you can celebrate all you want

They weren't if they wanted they could have played in india and your female dancers would be welcoming team Bangladesh at the airport

But

They refused to put their foot in india

Kicked out would be if you had refused them to play in India and Sri lanka but you gave them the option to play in india which they refused

That's no kicking out thats called bangldesh showing you middle finger

Arnab is the voice of India.

Sad to see the behaviour of his countrymen.

They prefer Star Sports TV rights over their country.

While I disagree with Arnab on every issues I can still consider him a man of integrity.

These Indian posters opinion goes wherever government asks them to. It's sad to see human beings reduced to this.

If indians had any dignity they would ask ICC to take away their hosting rights. They have suffered enough humiliation.
Toddlers crying and throwing a fit for attention doesn't humiliate the adults. They might feel a bit embarassed they they didn't teach the kid well, but that's the extent.

Pakistan and Bangladesh's behaviour is very much like the escalating behavior of a toddler desperate for attention.

A spanking is long overdue.

But when arnab goswami was giving fake new that india has taken over karachi and lahore
Same indians were doing monkey dance over it

Now they disowning arnab 🤣🤣🤣
Show me when arnab claimed india has taken over karachi or lahore.

Or continue LYING like you do with every breath.

No one cared what bd wanted they were told to accept what was given then thrown out, bcb president was praying for a miracle

From what I see, there was one idiotic board doing nonsensical things. Now they have two more for company to stir the pot.
