It was a pretty ordinary over barring one Yorker. That last ball would go for a six every time if he bowls to a quality batsman.

Well done to Zaman!

Good for IPL but not beyond that , too short and no pace for progressing beyond that .

Earns a callup to the T20I side for the Afghanistan series, but not sure he will be able to break into the side among the other pacers

Good callup. Lets see if he is better than Haris Rauf at dept.

Deserved call up

Abbas Afridi will soon get his chance as well

Pleased that he's getting a chance.

He's been consistent - 12 wickets and an economy-rate of 8.68 so far the PSL is a fine effort.

He’s a decent franchise cricketer that’s it. Not international quality.

There hasn’t been any impressive young fast bowlers this season Ihsanullah aside so I’m not mad at the selection.

Well deserved he can bowl in the power play and at the death.
Should be part of the xi if Naseem Shah isn't fit and should be head of the pecking down than Wasim Jnr and Fahim Ashraf.

He is good for domestic cricket, but due to being very short chances of his success at international level are low, he is no Malinga. Arshad Iqbal or Abbas Afridi would have been a better choice.

Apart from Ihsan no upcoming PSL pacers looks good enough for International cricket so it’s ok if he or Abbas Afridi have selected

I actually hate this guy. He has been involved in single handedly destroying Islamabad. Ever since Lahore has played this kid, they have always had an upper hand in death overs. He ended up destroying the career of Asif ALi who never recovered from the last PSL.

Just because he doesnt have pace, he is not on the lips of us fans. But his accuracy, his action and his nerves has proven to us many times that this guy needs a go ahead in the Pakistani squad. He has won more than 10 games in 2022 and 2023 psl. Wonderful bowler yar.

Zaman is a cool customer. He is an intelligent bowler.I noticed his pace has gone up.A good bowler for T20.

Nerves of steel this guy. He has come on top against some quality hitters in last over more often than not.

Was consistently in early 140s kph this season, so not short on pace too.

Zaman is one of those guys that make a large contribution to wins but go unnoticed. He has been the secret to LQ's success in the past 2 years. Pakistan should look at him as a death-bowling option.

Bowled well in final over but i can't really rate someone with such an ugly, slinging action. If he is a hard worker, he can reach the epitome of slingers like Lasith Malinga. Otherwise he will end up in the scrap heap like most other slingers.

There are not too many slingers around to begin with due to the nature of the action but just having one alone is not enough reason to write some one off, if he is able to achieve half of what Malinga did, he will have an ok career. There is scope for further improvement and he has some fine tools, more importantly he has character and the ability to hold his nerve which is needed at the death.

I like his temperament.

He never seems flustered. Even when he bowls a bad ball, he just thinks about the next ball and what he's going to do.

Very good attitude considering just how little cricket he has played.

Indeed. Similar to Hasnain, he’ll get better the more domestic cricket he plays.

Nothing educates a fast bowler more than real match time, long spells and thinking on their feet.

He was smiling on that last delivery when there was so much pressure. This guy is not afraid of the occasion.

Yes. He seems to enjoy it. The tougher the challenge, the more he is up for it.

Great attitude.

Shoaib Akhtar as role model but bowl like Lasith Malinga

Shoaib Akhtar is my favourite cricketer and role model and the one who I have followed all my life as he was a “speed star” and I really wanted to be known like him for speed and aggression but my action is very much like former Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga. I have watched many of his videos to see what he did to get the sort of success he did in his playing days. Having said that, before I had even watched Malinga my natural action was always slingy and its only later that I came to realize that it was very similar to that of Malinga.

Zaman Khan regarding his action in a recent interview with PakPassion:

"Some coaches have told me that my bowling action will lead to injuries and that I need to have a really strong back and things to sustain this action. However, Aaqib Javed my coach at Lahore Qalandars bring your arm even lower as it’s really difficult for batters to read the ball especially slower balls and yorkers. I enjoy bowling with this action and confusing the opposition batters."
