After numerous delays, Pakistan has finally announced its squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, becoming the last team among the 20 participating nations to do so.

In this video, Saj takes us through the 15-man squad, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses. He also sheds light on the bureaucratic process behind the selection.

What do you make of the squad announced for the mega event?

To be honest, by delaying the squad announcement Mohsin Naqvi & Co did nothing but brought an extra liability upon themselves for the team's failures in future. The current squad still misses big names like Mohammad Haris and Irfan Khan Niazi and this is unfortunate for PCT.

I think its a bit too early to test Niazi out, he seems promising for the future, though. The issue for me is that if Ayub is dropped because of his form, we have no real top 3 firepower. Our only real fire is with Fakhar and he only comes in at number 4.

We have no specialist batter waiting on the bench in the current squad. Usman khan is inexperienced but Saim has been an utter failure so far. He can be replaced with usman but the next thing that comes to my mind is that it will be another experimental thing to do. Usman opening the batting will be a new experiment and with the world cup just a few days away, we should not do experiments.

We have no one to replace Iftikhar. Salman should have been there for that reason. We needed another batter in this team.

Shadab is solid in the field. But unfortunately horrible otherwise

Fakhar, Saim, Rizwan are quite good too

Azam Khan remains a weak link in the squad but I am also worried about the fitness of Amir and Imad.

The batting is weak with or without Azam. Azam isn't an international player and if he wasn't Moins son, he wouldn't be anywhere the team. Usman isn't international quality and bar the old firm of Babar and Riz,nor are any of the other guys.

When I try to explain why PK cricket is so average, people don't understand what I mean by structural problems. Poor Fielding is the result of systemic and structural problems

Shadab has the history droping sitters in the world cups so lets hope we wont see the same lazy version of shady this time.
