Everyone knows that running a country is not a game of cricket; you inherit this right. Duh!

Islamabad: Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the opposition has proven its majority in the National Assembly and PM Imran Khan has practically become “former PM,” ARY News reported.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a press briefing on Friday, said that there will be “severe consequences” if the PTI government tries to stop any MNA from going to the Parliament. Anyone who tries to do any such activity would be charged under Article 6 (treason), Bilawal added.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has attacked the country’s foreign policy with his narrative of an international conspiracy against him. The PTI government’s policies have isolated Pakistan globally, Bilawal said.

He said that if the alleged “threatening letter” was such a serious issue then it would have been brought to light immediately. The PM is using the alleged letter to save himself, his actions are maligning the image of Pakistan as well as national institutions Bilawal claimed.

Bilawal said that the PTI has done nothing noteworthy in their tenure, projects including the CPEC and Pak-Iran pipelines were initiated in the PPP era. Why would international forces conspire against a government that has done nothing?

Imran’s usage of the National Security Council for his political benefits shows how immature he is, the PPP chairman said. A platform like NSC should be kept for only serious threats and not for scoring any political points, he added.

He said that the PTI foreign policy is full of confusion. PTI criticised Nawaz Sharif when Modi came to visit Pakistan, but Imran himself went to visit Modi when he was in the Opposition and used to praise his policies, Bilawal pointed out.

He said that the country is in a severe financial crisis and it is our responsibility to stop it from getting any worse. It is also our responsibility to save the country from any kind of constitutional crisis or conflict, Bilawal said.

The PPP chairman said that the PM used to say that he is very happy about the motion of no-confidence but when he came to know that he is about to lose, he started blabbering about an international conspiracy, said Bilawal.

The Prime Minister has lost the constitutional battle but is denying to accept it and “rolling on the pitch crying”, PPP Chairman added.

Says the guy who has not worked a day in his life. Owns huge tracts of land and mansions all handed down to him by daddy's corruption. Is vying to be PM just because he thinks it is his birth right to be PM as his nana was PM, mum was PM and dad was President.

This pathetic Billoo will NEVER be PM Inshallah.

Even My Urdu is better than Billos.

If this guy ever becomes PM of Pakistan, I will never visit until he leaves. Too embarrasing, imagine Billo meeting Putin.

This Weiling Clown that has people killed by his party because they exposed his corruption will hopefully meet his maker sooner rather than later. After all Its an Eye for an eye

Can they use the exact same rope they used for his grandfather?

so you want Bilawal to die?

What if someone says the same about Imran Khan should have same faith? There are assassination threats around him allegedly by Vawda saab lol

His Urdu vocabulary is remarkable, his range of words is in fact even better than national TV news host. Needs to work slightly on grammar. Accent should never be made fun of, people who get second hand embarrassment by listening to him exude homophobia tbh hence name calling (billo rani). It's actually commendable for a burger bacha.

there is a difference between vacationing in pakistan and living in pakistan

:))

You really need to get your priorities straight. I contribute to Pakistan and the people.

You should be attacking Zardari family for allowing hundreds of drone attacks, complict in mudering Pakistanis and also robbing the nation blind for hundreds of Millions, most of which is abroad. Please respond to this

How does he know it isn't like playing a cricket match?

This guy hasn't run a thing in his life.

Thankfully PPP is shrinking and in a couple more election cycles they will be completely finished. There were local body elections in KP yesterday. PPP managed a grand total of 1 seat. Infact they struggle to come even on 4/5th position anywhere outside of interior Sindh. Even in Sindh's capital Karachi they are strictly number 3-4 in terms of seat count.

Before this no-confidence shenanigans PTI did a massive rally all through Sindh and people were coming out in droves, which suggests to me in the next election (whenever it is held) PPP's hold even in Sindh will weaken and they will take another step towards their rightful position in the dustbin of history.

[MENTION=135038]Major[/MENTION] look stop beating around the Bush and just answer some questions for me. What has Bilawal done that he deserves to be the chairman of the PPP. Also can you list out all the achievements of the PPP since Benazir became the PM.

With regards to Bilawal he is a weak character who has never earned a penny in his life. A spoilt child. Son of a wife beater and criminal. What can he offer Pakistan?

If Karachi's census was done properly and everyone counted ~ 22M instead of 12-14M based on current official census. It would had enough NA seats to make PPP irrelevant even in Sindh. Alas games are played to keep everyone in play, so when one doesn't play ball, you just pull the rug out.

Get real, roughly 40% of the UK population, 30% of USA population, vote in general elections.

What’s your point?

Where did Billo get his wealth from?

You are lusting at him to be PM yet cannot answer simple questions?

Currently Sindh has 61 NA seats based on an official population of 47M. Out of which 20 are allocated to KHI based an official population of 14M. When in actuality its population is more than 22M. PPP never bothers to even campaign in Karachi but has a strangle hold on the rest of the 35 seats (rural sindh). They don't need to. But if KHI had its fair share and had 40 seats . KHI + HYD will make it difficult for PPP to hold on to Sindh.

Hope this makes it easy for you to understand.

In regards to Bilawal and Pakistani PMship isn't his birthright. IK atleast played cricket, managed his own money, even raised money for a hospital....so has some life experience. Bilawal after his Oxford education could have worked in London (favourite city of international money launderers).

What has the Bhutto/Zardari/Sharif merry go round achieved for the nation is the question?

No one has a birthright but Unfortunately there is a track record of some who think they do...purely due to accident of birth or marriage!

And the people will vote who they want to vote for. They will bring in a pm, who they deem is fit.

Neither Imran nor Bilawal has the right, its in the hands of us locals who live here or would be running away in future aaswell

Some ground rules if you wish to see your posts on this thread

1. Dont get personal with each other
2. No more rubbish about the gender etc of Bilawal or discussions on PM Imran Khan's personal life etc

And the people will vote who they want to vote for. They will bring in a pm, who they deem is fit.

Neither Imran nor Bilawal has the right, its in the hands of us locals who live here or would be running away in future aaswell

Of course it is up to localsto decide, so why not wait until his term comes to an end and let the people decide and not politicians!

Hit nail on the head. It's embarrassing to see the cricket metaphors being used on a daily basis.. i hope the current PM develops some intelligence beyond a stupid game before he utters some more of the same words.

I think you and I both know he he has a done a lot with his hospitals and the university. Yes he uses cricketing analogies, I have come across many career politicians who will also use sports analogies to resonate to the people they are talking to. If his biggest issue is the use of cricketing terminology any nation should accept that compared to money laundering, corruption etc

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that people will have Sehri [pre-dawn meal] in ‘Naya (new) Pakistan’ and by the time of Iftar they will enter ‘old Pakistan’ as the first day of Ramazan will fall on Sunday (tomorrow).

He was referring to possible ouster of Prime Minister Imran Khan through the voting on no-confidence motion, which is to be held tomorrow in National Assembly.

Addressing the media in Islamabad, Bilawal said devils are being imprisoned in the holy month and the “devil of Bani Gala” [residence of PM Imran] will be confined as well.

He also expressed concerns over the PM Imran’s call for countrywide protests against opposition leaders.

Earlier today, the embattled premier urged the country’s youth to take to streets to hold 'peaceful demonstrations' against “foreign conspiracy" being hatched to topple his government.

Also read: Respect army's decision to remain neutral, says PM Imran

“Raise your voice and stage protests against this conspiracy not for me but for the future of the country,” he remarked while addressing the youth on Saturday.

Bilawal said that there were reports that the “defeated” PM Imran would try to undermine the democratic process, adding that “goons” of PTI were heading to Islamabad ahead of no-trust voting.

He also urged the prime minister to opt for “honourable exit” instead of looking for “NRO or backdoor route” to save his government.

“Either resign or face no-trust motion in National Assembly,” he added.

Where did Bilawal Bhuto Zardari get his wealth?

This chap is being touted as the next PM after the Sharifs have finished. But his supporters cant answer a simple question.

Even Aitzaz Ahsan was not willing to say outright Pti was wrong normally he has very strong opinions on constitutional law so him not taking a strong stand makes me think Pti has played its cards correctly.

Imran will be dealt with according to Article 6, Bilawal says

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Sunday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be dealt with according to Article 6 of the Constitution as “the prime minister, speaker, deputy speaker, president, and anybody involved in this act today have committed high treason”.

“There is no space in our Constitution for them to dissolve the assembly, issue a notification to dissolve the assembly while we bringing a vote of no-confidence against the PM,” Bilawal said while speaking to a private media outlet.

“There is no space in the Constitution for them to not hold the vote of no-confidence today. There is no space in the constitution, rules of the National Assembly, democracy and law that allows them to run from the session today.”

“We are recording our protest in the Parliament. We have demanded of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and all those institutions responsible for the protection and implementation of the Constitution to do so and accept our no-confidence that is legal," said the PPP chief.

Referring to Ayaz Sadiq taking the chair of the speaker, the PPP chairperson said, “It was their own decision to have Ayaz Sadiq on the panel of the Chair. Following the policy of the House, Ayaz Sadiq has chaired the session of the National Assembly. When the Speaker is not present, neither is the deputy Speaker, it is the responsibility of the one nominated on the panel to conduct the session. The vote of no-confidence took place and we secured 195 votes.”

Bilawal hoped that the judiciary will not let any unconstitutional act take place and added that the opposition hoped the Supreme Court would “correct” the attack on the Constitution.

"The PM has committed treason to run from the no-confidence. We have proved that the majority is with us. We will not let Pakistan be run on the rule of the jungle."

“The prime minister and the speaker are not even aware of how grave the act they have committed is,” he said, adding that Raza Rabbani, Farooq Naek, Nayyer Hussain Bukhari along with others were preparing a petition.

“It is not possible for the Supreme Court to not stand with us. It is bound to stand with and defend the Constitution,” he added.

“We submitted a no-confidence motion against the speaker too after which he cannot even prorogue the session,” the PPP chief said referring to the no-trust motion against the speaker submitted earlier in the day.

“Imran Khan is trying to become a carbon copy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. It is ridiculous. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto never abrogated the Constitution,” he said, adding, “We were the ones who drafted it. He did not abrogate the Constitution even to save his life. He said that he would not expose national secrets even if it meant that he would lose his life. This is nationalism and patriotism.”

Bialwal said, “Do the Pakistani people want for things to take place according to the constitution or a person’s ego? Pakistan has become a banana republic before the world today. We will not let Imran succeed in this conspiracy.”

“It is Imran’s disillusion just like that of Musharraf that he would succeed after creating a law and order situation. Justice Waqar Seth clearly wrote in his order what the punishment of traitors is.”

Foreign conspiracy

Speaking about the foreign conspiracy, Bilawal said, “As far as the foreign conspiracy is concerned, all are witness to how our efforts have always been to remove this undemocratic man. Long before the PM went to Russia, I and my father went to Shehbaz Sharif to form a consensus. Even before that, we had our CEC meeting where it was decided to proceed with the long march and no-confidence.”

He said that even in September 2020, when the PDM was being formed, the no-confidence vote against the premier was one of the points.

“Are we psychic? Would we have known in September 2020 that there would be a conflict in Ukraine? Had this conspiracy claim been true, why did he wait till the last minute to reveal it? He should have demarched that diplomat on the very same day,” he added.

“The Parliament is the supreme institution. What happened in the Parliament today cannot be forgiven,” the PPP chief said, adding, “If the Parliament’s peaceful transfer of power is hindered today, a precedent can be set for the transfer of power in the Supreme Court as well.”

“There are other institutions in Rawalpindi that can face the same problem,” he warned. “We salute the Supreme Court for showing a responsible attitude even on a Sunday. We have hopes associated with it.”

He concluded that the constitution had been abrogated and there had also been a 100% contempt of court.

Serious question, does Bilawal have any credentials?

Other than being the son of two convicted criminals, what does he have to offer?

No, but apparently his two supporters here keep coming up with his “foreign policy” as if that’s all you need to become the PM of the country.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday urged the Supreme Court to "stop Imran Khan's coup" and form a "full court bench to address the political crisis" in Pakistan.

Addressing a presser in Islamabad, he asserted that what happened in the National Assembly on Sunday was a blatant violation of the Constitution.

"There is one legal way of removing the prime minister — the no confidence motion. Imran Khan, just for the sake of his ego, sabotaged the no-trust process by violating the Constitution."

His remarks come a day after the dismissal of the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Khan on Sunday by outgoing National Assembly deputy speaker Qasim Suri and the subsequent dissolution of the assembly by President Arif Alvi.

Later in the day, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial took notice of the NA deputy speaker's ruling. A five-member bench will resume hearing the case at 1pm.

In the joint-opposition's media talk today, Bilawal called the dismissal of the no-confidence move "suicide for Imran Khan" and his party. Several PPP supporters, he said, were rejoicing at "successfully ousting the government".

"But we will never be happy because we are democratic and constitutional parties," he said, pointing out that today, April 4, marks the date former PM Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was not dispensed justice by the Supreme Court.

"The judiciary failed to provide us justice. Our presidential reference is still pending. The court couldn't stop Zia's coup, it couldn't stop Musharraf's coup ... But we are requesting you: stop Imran Khan's coup.

"Your decision will write the future of the country. It will decide whether our constitution is just a piece of paper or a document that protects the integrity of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan," Bilawal said.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, meanwhile, said that undoubtedly, Article 69 of the Constitution stated that the parliamentary proceedings were protected.

"But if the law is broken in the National Assembly, will no one be accountable for it?"

He added that the he had high hopes from the Supreme Court today and would only talk about matter further after its verdict.

NA proceedings
Shehbaz Sharif also alleged that what happened in the NA session on Sunday was a "planned conspiracy".

"On March 24, the speaker had granted leave to the no-confidence motion. If there was an objection on it under Article 5, why was the leave granted?"

Shehbaz said that the assembly had a system and legal branch. The speaker, he pointed out, tabled the agenda item in Parliament after completing all the legal procedures. "Otherwise, he rejects it in his office only."

The PML-N leader lamented that voting on the resolution had to take place yesterday but "Imran Khan's dishonesty and ill-will came in between and he used the deputy speaker as his accomplice in the crime".

"When we sat in the house yesterday, immediately after the recitation of the Holy Quran, the floor was given to Fawad Chaudhry. He read a paper and God knows what he said. Subsequently, the deputy speaker read aloud from a written order and then left. This means that he [deputy speaker] used Article 5 to dismiss the motion."

The opposition leader claimed that Imran Khan and his people "couldn't face their defeat and therefore compromised democracy and broke the constitution".

"You have seen that the public is going into a vacuum ever since," he said, adding, that the outgoing government had used the word "traitor" as a joke.

Threat letter
Shehbaz also pointed out that former Pakistan Ambassador to the US Asad Khan had been in touch with the US government even after receiving the 'threat letter', which PM Imran Khan called "foreign conspiracy" hatched to topple his government.

He said that Asad had tweeted a thank you note for the US government even after a meeting on March 16. Shehbaz demanded that if a meeting took place on March 7 and if something about a regime change was conveyed that day, why was a meeting called on March 16.

"These are very conflicting things and will haunt the nation for a very long time."

Shehbaz reiterated that if a threat letter was received on March 7, why wasn't Article 5 brought up in the March 24 session of the National Assembly.

I know the chuha video is embarrassing but Billo has charisma.

If he is a bit smart and has good advisors...who knows...he might do well electorally.

Policy wise I dunno.

Too bad his dad made sure his party is pretty much limited to sindh. He’s not winning anywhere else.

Past is past.

What matters is whether he has the vision and fire to rise up.

That's what Rahul Gandhi lacks.

Billo looks more comfortable in rallies than Rahul imho.

His terrible Urdu could never win off masses esp in Punjab. Most see as Zardaris corrupt son, he himself knows it hence why he changed his name to Bhutto as he and the family knows the level at which Zardari is thought off in in the country.

He is seen as joke- no one takes him seriously even after having relaunches every other year. This whole backing of VOC was an attempt for him to get any post and look serious but he has no support outside rural Sindh. All these thugs are regional parties desperate to take down the main man any way they can.

He has lived his whole life off the blood of the Pakistani poor.
That alone should be enough to put him behind bars, let alone head a "political" party.

His party is hugely unpopular. There were local body elections in KP province 3-4 days ago. PPP managed a grand total of 1 seat. PPP barely manage to find a candidate or get any votes if elections are held anywhere outside interior Sindh. In Sindh's capital Karachi their seat count is 3rd of 4th with PTI having the majority of the seats. Even in interior Sindh they are losing their grip and in the upcoming elections their seat count over there as well will further decrease.

People are no longer willing to vote for PPP because they are just a family dynasty.

Luckily for him, he has an established political platform which people like Imran had to slog to build.

LOL at his political platform. His party wins 1 or 2 seats in any elections whenever they are held outside of Sindh.

There were a by-poll in Punjab last here. PPP candidate got 230 odd votes in TOTAL. There were 270 odd polling stations, imagine there were many polling stations where the candidate did not even get 1 vote!

PPP are well on their way to be in the dustbin of history.

Wrong: people vote for the party and then if the party has majority in the National Assembly they can pick their PM.
The problem with that is that people might vote for hard workers of a party but the members are so subjugated into accepting their leaders by lineage, it’s ridiculous. What happened to Aitezaz Ahsan and all the real members of PPP and not the zerdari clan stooges?
Those guys were the real PPP. Zerdari is a mafiosi who got his wife whacked so he could take over and now he is using his FIL’s name for his kids. There are all sorts of wrong here. The people will vote for the party but not “Zero Qualification Billo”

It won’t happen.. besides PPP is not even a national party anymore. They are a local bodies party now. Best hope for them is to hang on the coat tails of PDM and they will never allow Bilawal to be PM when you have people like Shehbaz, Hamza, Maryam, etc licking their lips to get their turn at it.

You are fooling yourself if you think Bilalwal will ever be PM. Not gonna happen, bud!

And now the people can select which party or leader they want.

People will vote for stability and honesty and not for PTI vs All Other Parties Combines XI, which is essentially what PDM is. If all these opposition parties contest elections individually, they will might not have enough votes against PTI.

But in any scenario, it is highly unlikely that Billo rani could become PM. IF and thats a big IF, they win, they will be clamoring for the top slots and with the Sharif clan aspirants, Mulla Fazlu, the PML-Q people, and the MQM people, etc, Billo will be just another schmuck hopeful for the PM seat.

So you can very well decide yourself what are his odds. PPP is reduced to a rural sindh only party with no strength to write home about in other provinces. They are done.

True .....

Luckily for him, he has an established political platform which people like Imran had to slog to build.

This is it isn't it. The ghatya state of politics. Imran Khan also was successful as he was an all time great for us and very famous already due to his cricket and then cancer hospital so he didn't have to build his PR. And even then you've seen the state of his struggle and its taken him 1/3rd of his life span to get to this.

What dream has an average child got to be a PM? Either be in the Sharif or Zardari/Bhutto clan or forget it. Sometimes I feel we haven't moved on from the kings and queens from pre-British era, the mahrajas and mahranis. We still have feudalism rife in Pakistan in Sindh especially.

I might bash India (a lot) but I am not dishonest. Uptil the Modi era India did extremely well when it came to democracy. We never had the chance when our two independence leaders died within 4 years of us becoming a country.

SUKKUR: PPP-Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday said that Naya Pakistan came to an end, but Imran Khan has no idea what just happened to him.

Addressing a rally of his party workers in Sukkar, Bilawal said that despite his rule coming to an end, Imran Khan and his supporters are celebrating the occasion.

"Imran Khan has no idea what has just happened to him," Bilawal said, adding that the Opposition has finally held the former, PTI-led government accountable.

He went on to say that throughout its tenure, the PTI government and the "selected" premier had badly hurt Pakistan.

"Imran Khan's government made every institution of the country controversial," Bilawal said. "State institutions belong to every Pakistani, not Imran Khan."

Speaking about the decision of the National Assembly's deputy speaker to bar the Opposition from voting on the no-confidence motion against the prime minister Sunday, Bilawal said that instead of facing the competition, "Imran Khan chose to flee as he is a coward".

"He ran away from the no-confidence motion; he fled from the battlefield," Bilawal maintained. "But while running, he has also violated the Consitution of the country."

The PPP chairman said that just to stay as the prime minister of the country for two weeks, Imran Khan violated the Constitution of the country.

Speaking about the importance of the Constitution, Bilawal said that the Parliament and all state institutions exist because of the Constitution.

"Does the Constitution of Pakistan has no value?" he questioned. "Is it only a piece of paper? It seems like for Imran Khan, the Constitution is nothing but a piece of paper."

He said that the judiciary must endure that the Constitution of the country is protected. "If we want to make Pakistan stable, we will have to ensure that the Constitution is preserved and the rule of law prevails.

"PPP jiyalas want this puppet of a prime minister to go home," he said, adding that his party had been insisting since February 27 that the no-confidence motion would succeed.

"We asked him to face the vote of no-confidence, but this coward was not ready to do that. Our jiyalas will fight against all undemocratic elements in the country," he said.

Bilawal also said that irrespective of the decision of the Supreme Court, Imran Niazi won't be able to survive in the world of politics.

What a clown. This guy doesn't even have shame sitting next to other clowns that called his a mother a prostitute.

What a clown. This guy doesn't even have shame sitting next to other clowns that called his a mother a prostitute.

Called her a prostitute
Spread fake naked pictures of her, in a conservative woman-honor obsessed society like Pakistan
Humiliated his mother by making her making thana trips to see his jailed father
Jailed his father, who was also tortured
Was a CM under Zia who hung his grandfather

Shameless doesn't begin to cover it. Bayghairat insaan, baysharam aadmi

Some people can sell their mother for money.

Seems the PPP brand is damaged beyond repair. The masses connected with the struggles of Benazir and her father's hanging. Now all they see is her son trying to trade off his late mother and grandfather and the corrupt father.
Maybe PPP needs to change the leadership to Fatima Bhutto

Running Pakistan is indeed like a game of cricket, and many Pakistanis understand life and issues in a better way by cricketing terminologies.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has sought clarification from the Foreign Office, the Defence Ministry and the military spokesperson regarding meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) over claims of Prime Minister Imran Khan of the ‘threatening letter’.

In a tweet on Monday, Bilawal said that the Pakistan army spokesperson should explain whether the 197 members of the National Assembly were declared traitors in the National Security Committee meeting by declaring them part of an external conspiracy.

“ExPM IK is using ‘foreign conspiracy’ to justify his coup. Will @OfficialDGISPR [director general of Inter-Service Public Relations] clarify did NSC meeting declare the 197 members of NA traitors and part of a foreign plot?” the PPP chairman wrote on his twitter handle.

“Can foreign office or defense ministry produce any official correspondence between 7-27th on foreign sazish [conspiracy],” he said. “Surly a plot of this scale would have been uncovered by our own intelligence agencies and other institutions not just an ambassadors cable? Imran’s ego is not more important than Pakistan,” he added.

The PPP chairman was referring to a meeting of the NSC, convened last week against the backdrop of alleged “foreign-funded plot” against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. The ‘plot’ was based on a diplomatic cable the Pakistani ambassador in the US wrote to the Foreign Office last month.

The NSC meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Imran and attended by federal ministers for defence, energy, information, interior, finance, human rights and planning, besides chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, services chiefs, national security adviser and senior officers.

The committee expressed grave concern at the communication, terming the language used by the foreign official undiplomatic. It was decided that Pakistan would issue a strong demarche to the country in question both in Islamabad and in that country’s capital through proper channel.

Consequent to that meeting, the Foreign Ministry lodged a formal protest with the US. Acting US envoy in Islamabad was summoned to the ministry and handed the demarche. The US was told that the use of such undiplomatic language was unacceptable.

On March 27, during a PTI public rally in Islamabad, Imran waved a letter, claiming that it was the evidence of a foreign-funded conspiracy against the government. Later it was stated that the secret memo contained minutes of the meeting between the Pakistani envoy and a US official.

A handout issued by the Prime Minister’s Office last week said that the national security adviser briefed the NSC on the communication of a senior official of a foreign country to Pakistan’s ambassador in the said country in a formal meeting, which was duly conveyed by the ambassador to the Foreign Ministry.

The NSC concluded that the communication amounted to blatant interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan, which was unacceptable under any circumstances. However, it did not say if the letter constituted a conspiracy against the sitting government or the opposition parties were part of the plan.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday demanded justice from the Supreme Court, as the country continues to be in a constitutional crisis after the dissolution of the National Assembly without conducting a vote on the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Speaking at a press conference after the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting in Islamabad, the PPP chairperson said that PPP had always struggled for the Constitution as they had ended PM Imran’s regime through a constitutional process.

Bilawal said PM Imran had violated the Constitution as he had foreseen defeat. He said PPP wanted justice from the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

“We have always shown respect for the judiciary and hope that the decision of the court will benefit the country and democracy,” he said.

A five-member larger bench of the apex court is regularly conducting a hearing the case filed against the "unconstitutional act" of the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, who had disallowed the vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday.

Bilawal further said that former chief justice Saqib Nisar and Gulzar Ahmed made the judiciary controversial and now this case can make the judiciary uncontroversial again.

The PPP chairperson said that in the past, PPP did not forgive the violators of the Constitution and wouldn't now.

The PPP leader went on to say that a briefing of the National Security Committee (NSC) should be presented before the court, as "we do not want certificates of traitor or patriotism".

“We can’t tolerate the way he [Imran Khan] played with our national identity for his political gain,” he said, adding that, “if anyone calls us a traitor, they will have to face the answers.”

He was speaking about the ‘threat letter’ that PM Imran Khan showed at a public gathering and labeled the Opposition as traitors for hatching a plot to topple his government.

Subsequently, the PM called the NSC meeting and presented the letter. However, following the directions of the meeting, a ‘demarche’ was issued to the US envoy.

“If we [opposition] were a part of a foreign conspiracy, I would have been arrested by now, therefore it’s clear when PM foresaw that he had lost the majority in the NA, he scripted the ‘threat letter,’ said Bilawal.

Bilawal Bhutto said that PM Imran was a puppet of the foreign world and had been planted in the politics of Pakistan with an agenda.

Coups done in 30 seconds should be undone in just as much time, says Bilawal

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Wednesday that if a "coup" can be pulled off in 30 seconds, it should also be undone in about the same time.

"Justice delayed is justice denied," tweeted Bilawal as the hearing on the April 3 National Assembly fiasco continued for a third consecutive day in the Supreme Court.

Lamenting the no-confidence motion filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's against its own deputy speaker in the Punjab Assembly, Bilawal said that Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari was locked out of the assembly on the day of voting for the slot of the provincial chief minister.

The PPP leader stated that none of interim prime minister Imran Khan's "desperate measures" could now save him as his government was gone.

"Selected raj is over. The people are watching, history will record, how he was brought in undemocratically and on his way out he set the constitution on fire," Bilawal stated.

Earlier in the day it was reported that a history of sorts was made in the Punjab Assembly today after it received two no-trust motions in a single day, one submitted by the joint opposition against Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and the other by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) against its own Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari.

However, the government refused to accept the no-confidence resolution against the speaker.

Probably true.

But still a better base than someone starting out.

Also, once you show you can win and you have national ambitions and people actually see you as a leader (argument sake), you can quickly expand in other states.

Not easy but totally possible.

I would put it another way.

If Army stays away from this matter, institutions can flourish and with time, you will have leaders who will rise up.

PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari rejected the ‘doctrine of necessity’ as the Supreme Court moves closer to a verdict on the "unconstitutional" ruling by National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri to reject the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying it’s not acceptable now.

“In the past, we have seen the doctrine of necessity which is not acceptable now, therefore, we should look towards the Constitution of Pakistan only," he asserted.

Speaking on Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath, Bilawal Bhutto said that a disputed verdict would also make Parliament, judiciary, and the upcoming elections controversial.

He was speaking about the current constitutional crisis due to the NA deputy speaker's ruling to reject the vote of the no-trust motion against the PM.

The decision caused instability in the country. The matter now is in the Supreme Court, where a five-member larger bench of the apex court is regularly conducting a hearing of the case.

“We want the court decision regarding deputy speaker’s unconstitutional ruling to be in favour of the Constitution. It should not be in mine or Imran Khan's favour,” he added.

Responding to PML-Q’s decision to join PTI, Bilawal said that despite the breach of promise by PML-Q, the Opposition still had a majority.

“We [the joint Opposition] have proved a majority in the Centre as well in Punjab,” he said.

The PPP chairperson said that PM Imran Khan had abrogated the Constitution of Pakistan and ran away.

“Now we hope that [the] judiciary will [the] stir country out of this constitutional crisis," he said, adding that, “we believe the court decision will restore democracy in the country and make institutions uncontroversial too.”

He opined that election reforms were necessary for a transparent election in the country.

“By making election reforms, we can get out of the crisis we have been facing from [the] last 30 years,” he said. But he added that PM Imran Khan dissolved Parliament through an unconstitutional way, so the Opposition could not get the time for election reforms.

Bilawal went on to say that they want a transparent and fair election.

The PPP chairperson also lambasted PM Imran Khan for "fabricating a false narrative of a foreign conspiracy".

He was speaking about the ‘threat letter’ that PM Imran Khan brandished at a jalsa at D-chowk. Since then, the PM is labelling the Opposition leaders traitors for hatching a plot to topple his government.

Subsequently, the PM called an NSC meeting and presented the letter. However, following the directions of the meeting, a ‘demarche’ was issued to the US envoy.

Bilawal said that PM Imran Khan had attempted to drag institutions into politics, saying that the NSC meeting was called solely for political purposes and stirred up an issue of an international conspiracy.

“The way the PM is building up a narrative, a clarification should be issued in this regard,” he said, adding that, “He [PM] is fabricating a false narrative against PPP as NSC’s meeting statement did not mention any conspiracy.”

Seriois question, does anyone actually listen to this guy in Pakistan?

Same with Maryam Nawaz.

They have zero substance, experience, accountability and qualifications. Am I missing something?

Going by direction that SC is heading, the statement is becoming more and more true as days passing by.

ISLAMABAD: Amid the anticipation of the outcome of today’s crucial National Assembly session, all eyes are on the prospective candidates for the main positions if a new government is formed.

While the positions of prime minister and president hold importance, the question of who will be the foreign minister under the new government is also important as the joint Opposition has been constantly targeting the government for their wrong foreign policies.

According to rumours, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is likely to be appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs; however, in an interview with a foreign publication, the 33-year-old politician said that the decision regarding the ministership will be taken by his party.

Once again, while criticising the government, Bilawal said that the PTI has made the foreign ministry and National Security Committee (NSC) controversial.

He said that democracy had been damaged during the four-year rule of the PTI; however, the Supreme Court’s judgment is the “first step” towards ridding institutions of controversies.

Regarding the agreement signed with MQM-P, he said that the deal is not based on the demand of MQM-P, the agendas also include “my wishes”.

Meanwhile, speaking about PPP’s ties with PML-N, Bilawal acknowledged that there are political and ideological differences between the two parties and “they will remain there in the future as well.”
