[VIDEO] Top 50 Test Batters of All Time

I wouldn’t have Sachin in my top 20, so doing a top 50 allows me to reward the B+ players

Yes we can disregard all the actual legends of the game who constantly put sachin in top 3 because @shaz619 and @Suleiman on PP forum have spoken.

Your words carry way more weightage towards a players legacy than actual legends of the game, past and current players, every commentator and expert of the game.

People might have a problem with #2 on the list, and even I'll put Hobbs on 2 before Sachin, but the truth is Tendulkar has 20+ years of consistency with 40+ avg everywhere in every country, so I can definitely see where it is coming from, and I'm perfectly fine with it even If I disagree
I agree. Despite Sachin being an incredibly shady character when not batting, he definitely lasted a long time, bit too long that even major fans like myself got turned off thinking ye dafa kab hoga.

It was a bittersweet moment to see Saeed Ajmal end his ODI career before Deonarine ended his test career. 2 heroes who finally got rid of this bala. And ofc Jimmy Anderson dismissed him the most times ever in tests which is why Indians hate him.

tbf only career ajmal ended was himself's becasue of that chucking, but I'd agree ANderson did gave him a tough time in Eng swinging conditions, this guy is the reason Eng are undefeated in test series for home for long time,

Tendulkar averaged 50+ in England and Australia.

I know that, He's pretty great and consistent across all conditions but I'm saying that He struggled to dominate in england the same way he used to do before as anderson matured
Anderson dismissed Tendulkar 9 times in Tests, with 5 of those coming in England. After Tendulkar's 193 in 2002, he did not score another Test Int century on English soil, and ANderosn was a primary reason for that

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion mate, yours was confirmed with your user name, experts have a knack for looking back with rose tinted glasses; this might be the first most recent list on Test batters by a guy who is more of a comedian. I would like to demand a more updated ranking from the respected authorities, but even then, I value performances against India as much as they do the Ashes & who can brag about Younis’s greatness in that regard compared to a lot of batters, there are few truly great asian batters so when I say Younis is the greatest I really don’t think folk should get the knickers in a twist

Sachin had a debilating elbow and back injury after 2002 and when he had his second wind, from 2008 to 2010, He didn't tour England. Then when he did tour, he was way past it and struggling everywhere.

I think prime Sachin would have done better against Anderson than what he did, he didn't have problems against swing that much in his prime

He averaged 35 across both the 2007 and 2011 tours. I think the 'second wind' lasted between these two tours, but Anderson did have his number including in India in 2008 and 2012.

Yeah i think he would've fared better, In the 90s Sachin had pretty decent series in Sa, and Aus and got centuries against Donald/Pollock, he got a 136 against Ws + Saqlain on a dry chennai pitch tooI think a prime sachin should've atleast scored century in england even against ANderson, I don't think he would've still avg 50, probs less but he would've fared better,

Tendulkar was proactive and searched for boundaries early, however anderson's seam deviated late, which kinda made him vulnerable to unpredictable movement, someone like dravid actually fared amazing in england, because he played the ball late, and his soft hands and grip on bat menat that he could handle this unpredictable movement

But sachin fared great in england in his prime, it was only after injury and waning reflexes he struggled. And he was someone who could leave ball all days or cut off shots if needed too.

yeah but anderson was different, his swing on english conditions became deadly, also his wobble seam was unpredictable, he could swing ball both wyas, notmany english bowlers before could do that, but yeah I agree that tendulkar was no mug either at all, he could reinvent and adapt if needed, and had amazing consistency and batting, his 241* in Sydney is a perfect example there's a reaosn he's probably the greatest test batter outside Bradman

Sachin is definitely top 10... No way you can leave him out... Virat, Devilliers should find a spot too IMO

I'm pretty sure all those Pak fans would have been dancing in their isles if Jarrod Kimber put that 29 averaging against West Indies Javed Miandad at #2 instead. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
