I don’t think he will be in top 10. Nothing against his greatness but from cricket only Bradman will probably make the list.

Viv is like Mike Tyson, the most dangerous and one of the greatest of his sport but Tyson won’t be on top 10 greatest sportsperson list and so would Viv.

Bradman played in a completly different era where nothing was even documented so he's pretty much an urban legend at this point with people going via word of mouth and past statistics. We don't have any analysis on his play per say due to zero video footage or the ones do exist only exist of his final game where he got dismissed early.

IMO the Greatest sportsmen are ones who are great at what they do, transcend national boundaries and are true global icons, are known to considerable number of who don’t even follow the sport, changed the game etc.

Again not denying the greatness of Viv but IMO Bradman even if it’s an urban legend now will still be the greatest cricketer and hence the only cricketer in that list. Popularity wise neither Bradman nor Viv comes close to Sachin as cricket is dominated by Indian audience, but I would consider Bradman the greatest cricketer.

Same way in Baseball Babe Ruth is the greatest however there might have been better players than him later on.

I know everyone puts Messi and CR7 together but they are two different players. Messi after winning the World Cup IMO has now become the greatest footballer to ever play the game, just because he’s on the list doesn’t mean we have to include CR7 who is a top 4 footballer but IMO behind Messi, Pele and Maradona.

All these lists are subjective and based on personal bias and opinions.
You might have 4 or 5 cricketers on the list and not consider sports like Tennis or F1 for your list. Someone else might not consider any cricketer for this list.
But for me it’s impossible to include Viv in top 10 greatest sportsperson list above the names I mentioned.

Others might include players from newer eras who haven’t watched or read about older guys.
