As harsh as it seems, batsmen should have been aware of whats happening around him, he didnt even look back to see if catch was taken, and secondly he should have heard the swearing and commotion before the fielder saw what was happening and ran him out.

Case of bad luck and bad judgement from batsmen.

I think we can be fair.

Batsman to blame for low game awareness. Full blame according to rules of the game.

And fielding team for being lowlifes. Full blame according to spirit of the game.

Examples ranging from evil to stupidity to magnanimity and sportsperson spirit abound in our sport - and in all other sport.

People can apportion blame according to which side they lean on.

This would only mean it should have been not out if the umpire called dead ball before the player was run out.

Point to add umpire hasn't actually raised his finger, he just nodded his head assuming catch would be taken, also batsmen doesn't even look at umpire he edges it and starts walking , unfortunately blame has to be attributed to batsmen in my opinion poor game awareness.

Batsman clearly walking away from his wicket under the impression that he is out. He is not trying to gain any advantage from this situation. Fielding team within the rights to run him out but imo this goes against the spirit of the game. Batsman should be recalled.
