Wasim underachieved in Cricket.

Great athlete, great talent he was. Only Amir Pre Ban had the skill and ability which could match him.

By the end of his career he barely managed to get through his quota, was overstepping three times an over and was non-existent in the field.

Severe lack of fitness and maybe the diabetics having its effect.

Definitely worth checking out that masterclass, think its on YouTube, a lot of fun and quite informative.

I was referring to Politics, Jaraaem etc etc.

Wasim was our highest wicket taker in WC. I was very young but still remember that had Razzaq been in orthodox position at Mid Off Sachin would have been caught Razzaq bowl Wasim early on.

Wasim was still our Best bowler in 2003 World Cup when officially He was 36-37 and had played FC and List A Cricket for more than 2 decades.

Pre Ban it was looking as if Amir could outshine Wasim but now I don’t think so. 6 years of No Cricket, Amir won't be like that ever again and if he had played through those years than He would have improved further.

I don’t think that in my lifetime I will see a better Left arm pacer than Wasim Akram. Complete package. Superstar.

Amir still has it in him. Be patient and wait for him to return to his best

Amir has bowled well. But NO. Amir was Special in 2009-2010, He was genuine 20 at that time and if he had stayed with the team which he would have than He would have become a Left Arm Fast bowler capable of bowling few Express deliveries aswell. Amir's body did not have a muscle memory of years of that bowling action. He would never ever be able to revive the exact bowling action of Pre Ban. He will be better than all (Sohail, Rahat, Abass, Imran, Gul, Junaid, Irfan) but He won't be sensational anymore.

I watched a " Kangrhee Pehalwaan " stunn Australian greats by bowling between 143 to 155 kph in a 6 overs Spell with 40 % deliveries bowled in excess of 147 kph. It was all bones than.

Ab wo cheez nai hai. Na he aaey gee. I have realised it in last 15 months.

Perhaps because it was A Special ball to swing?

Butt yes there was and is one wasim akram.

I prefer to focus on the many great matches he won singlehandedly for Pakistan and the hundreds and hundreds of wickets he took for Pakistan.

Lol I'm one of his biggest fans, but I was making an observation that by the end of his career he was suffering from fitness issues.

Amir of 2009/2010 was special. He would have improved had he not been banned. He had agreed a county spell in England which would have helped his development further.

Let's see if he can get to that level or not. Showing signs of improvement in current test. Slowly finding that in swinger back. :)

An absolute legend. The pace bowling equivalent of Tendulker and Muralitharan.

Age doesnt affect his ability to swing the ball. If he can still clock 140 at age 50 that would be something.

An absolute legend. The pace bowling equivalent of Tendulker and Muralitharan.

Murali was an over achiever and preyed on a hapless Bangladesh side to boost his numbers a touch (Ashraful dominated him though).

Tendulkar is an apt comparison to Wasim. Both were probably the most gifted and skilled players to play the game and both are easily ATGs with phenomenal averages (54 with bat, 23 with ball respectively).

And both underachieved.

As skilled as he was Wasim should have averaged around 20 like Marshall or even better. Tendulkar likewise should have ended with an average of around 57-58 and averaged 65 at his peak. Sanga, Kallis, Sobers all finished with higher career averages and you can't even fully blame him for playing too long for that.

The way Wasim and Sachin are praised, a person unfamiliar to cricket would expect career averages of both to be a lot better than they were.

Like Michael Jordan who's career scoring average is so much higher than everyone else or Jerry Rice who killed 2nd best in virtually every category.

How did Wasim do in clutch situations? Was he a choker like Tendulkar?
