Pakistan has serious talent. I cant believe he can bowl slider and flipper also. The hardest art and a 6 year old is performing it like a piece of cake

Bache ki spin ha! The bowl's probably 100 overs old but still, and he's doing it on a hard floor.

And already has the variations.

Wow; the turn was unbelievable! His action and accuracy seems spot on with all these variations. Hope he continues working hard and gets scouted!

6 years old? With that much control and turn on concrete?

WOW WOW WOW :raja

Hope this kid and the one Wasim tweeted about aren't lost in the wilderness. Good for Saj to post this as this will catch the eye of most of the people involved in our cricket.

Looks like he does have a Youtube channel and Twitter feed of his own. Great to see this talent ibeing supported and encouraged by his parents.

Simply awesome.

Still very young though. Lots can happen by the time he is ready to ply for Pak.
He needs proper guidance and facilities.

These types of videos are hardly trust worthy.

They are edited, so he could have bowled 600 balls, but the editor only chose the 7-8 that made the kid look good. The rest of the balls could have been full tosses for all we know.

Although when I was 6, I couldnt even bowl one googly so theres that :yk2

What did Warne said about this kid?

Dear Eli, your bowling looks fantastic, keep up the great work & thankyou for your kind words ! https://t.co/gosvIHHv9I
— Shane Warne (@ShaneWarne) February 28, 2018

can someone pick if he is bowling with actual leather cricket ball ?

kid has got some serious turn.

Serious talent. Will keep an eye out for his progress. Always excited to see a leg spinner.

Nice talent

As gets aged he has to replicate this talent when it matters the most in big stages so have to groom him keenly

Have seen numerous videos in youtube of some unreal talents way back but don't know where they all are now

Hopefully this kid can be opposite to that

Looks pretty slow tbh. Could be smashed easily.

Most 6 year kids can't run properly without sliding down and this boy is bowling flippers, wrong un's and freakish leg spin with soo much deviation's......come on

Should start working on these kids like they do in football.

Messi was asked to sign as a 12-year-old. And joined at 13.

You never know which one of these kids grows up to be a national-level player. Bring them all in and start seeing if they can be developed.

This kid has more control than Umar Akmal does in-front of a bottle of Avion.

:P

Hope his parents ensure he gets a good education as well to complement his immense cricketing talent.

To early to judge him at such a young age. Can lose all that skill as well.

Its looks like a rubber ball on concrete bowled at 25 mph. Leather on turf at 50 mph won't even have 1% the grip of rubber on concrete at 25.

Good talent lot can go right or wrong between now and next 10’years.. Let’s hope he goes the right way

The amount of discouraging comments for a 6 years old shows the thought process of our society.

Poor mentally of pulling each other down the drain.

Back on topic, kid got talent and knows how to generate spin using the wrist in different angles.

He looks good. But bowlers like him are very common in Pakistan. Just visit some ground on sunday and you will found lots of kids like him.

Can people please for the love of God stop paying attention to Warne's "talent" picks? The man could watch a dolphin swim and he'd claim its the next Murali. Just hops on every bandwagon he can see

6-year-old Quetta 'prodigy' aspires to be next Shane Warne, gets maestro's attention

Quetta's six-year-old Eli Mikail has left his countrymen — and quite a few global stars — in awe of his amazing talent for spin bowling.

The young prodigy's claim to fame is his successful imitation of the style and techniques of world-renowned Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne.

Mikail first impressed cricket lovers across the globe when a video of him practicing went viral on social media. Viewers said they were stunned by the six-year-old's ability to bowl googlies and leg breaks with immaculate accuracy.

His growing fandom tried to draw the attention of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Shane Warne to the talented boy.

"I want to become [just like] Shane Warne in the future," Mikail told DawnNewsTV while he played with his father in a small park in Quetta's Chiltan Town area.

"I want to wear the green shirt one day and represent Pakistan," the young boy said.

It was in January this year that Mikail first started playing cricket.

Abdullah Khan, his father, recalls feeling that Mikail had been "blessed with a natural talent".

"His hands were too small to grab the ball," Khan, who also coaches Mikail, narrated.

"When he first took up a ball and tried to bowl, his action resembled a lot like Shane Warne's," Khan remembered.

"I was amazed to see my son copying the world-famous spinner. Since then, Mikail practices daily and is improving gradually," he revealed.

The young boy plays cricket with his father in a small park outside their house, where they have prepared a small pitch.

"Mikail practices daily for two to three hours," Khan said.

The father said that his son usually remains quiet and focuses more on cricket.

"Even in school, Mikail mostly talks about cricket with his classmates," he added.

"My father urges me to also give time to studies," Mikail told DawnNewsTV.

Khan says he has a deal with his son.

"I have told him that if he keeps performing well in academics, I will make every effort to make sure he becomes [the next] Shane Warne."

Two six-year-olds have become social media sensations in cricket-mad Pakistan with videos of their bowling “blowing away” the likes of Shane Warne and Wasim Akram, who have been giving the pair tips on improving their game.

Eli Mikal Khan, from the southwestern city of Quetta, has been nicknamed “Shane Warne Junior” after videos posted on Twitter of his astonishing leg break bowling attracted awe from fans around the world and drew tips and encouragement from the Australian legend.

Another six-year-old, an aspiring pace bowler named Hasan Akhtar, has meanwhile been dubbed “Little Wasim Akram” after the former Pakistani captain -- who also saw videos of him on Twitter and insisted on tracking him down and meeting him.

The two children have been widely feted by Pakistani media, as the cricket-obsessed country celebrates the successful staging of the third Pakistan Super League final in Karachi -- a hugely symbolic step towards bringing international teams back amid improving security.

Eli, who spoke to AFP at his home in Quetta, said he dreams of playing for Pakistan.

“I love cricket... I want to become a perfect leg break bowler,” he said.

He said he enjoys the adulation he has received -- particularly from legends such as Warne, who first tweeted encouragement to Eli after seeing one of his videos in March.

This week Warne retweeted another video of Eli, writing: “Absolutely fantastic, blown away on how good the ball comes out of your hand, especially at the age of only 6 -- well done and keep up the great work. One tip -- get that bowling arm a little higher!”

Eli, whose father and coach Abdullah Khan maintains his Twitter account, said he had been honoured by the tweet, adding: “I will definitely work on the given tip by Sir shaneWarne”.

Pakistani hopes lifted

Admiration of the two six-year-olds comes as Pakistan enjoys guarded optimism over the return of international cricket, driven from the country after a deadly militant attack targeting the Sri Lanka team in 2009.

Last weekend Karachi became the second major venue to host international matches after Lahore hosted five international matches against Zimbabwe in 2015, as well as the PSL final in March last year, three World XI matches in September and one against Sri Lanka a month later.

If Eli’s dream of playing for Pakistan bears fruit, he could be joined by fellow Twitter sensation Hasan, videos of whom drew Akram’s notice in late February.

“Where is this boy???” he said, retweeting one of the videos and calling for a “platform” to discover such talent in Pakistan.

On Monday he tweeted images of himself with the six-year-old, who he called a “young sensation” with “unbelievable skills”.

“Really enjoyed myself spending quality time with Hasan,” he wrote, adding that the child’s knowledge is already “unreal”.

Hasan’s father Muhammad said that before he realised how talented his son was, he found the bowling habit “annoying”.

“Our home floor is made of mud and Hasan would break the surface bowling all day,” he told AFP by telephone from their village of Chichawatni, some 200 kilometres from Lahore.

One of Hasan’s seven older siblings posted the initial video of him, which the family did not know had gone viral until a cousin phoned to say it was playing on television and that news reporters were looking for him.

The meeting with Akram took place in Karachi, arranged by private broadcaster Geo, Hasan’s father said, adding that it was “beyond imagination”.

Hasan said Akram had been “very kind”, adding that other heroes include Pakistan’s Muhammad Aamir and Australia’s Mitchell Starc.

“We did not expect the amount of love and support he has shown to us,” Hasan’s father said. “He coached Hasan how to hold the ball properly, the importance of the run-up and how to deliver the ball and he insisted that Hasan should continue his studies.”

This is new pointless trend

Make a video of your kid and put it on internet and get pointless plaudits

Why are u jealous bro, if Shane Warne has praised him then surely there is something in this guy.

That other kid swinging the ball was impressive but can’t judge how good this kid is based on the clip.

To be honest, anybody can turn the ball from one wide line to the other if you bowl slow enough. Spinners bowl at a decent pace. So it’ll be interesting to see how much he turns the ball and controls it at greater pace. What’s impressive is his accuracy and understanding of the variations.

I take it you don't have any kids?

So harsh!! Why do we have to have such negative perceptions about people

I shall be impressed when he grows up, bowl these deliveries with original hard cricket balls on cricket pitch. It looks like rubber ball to me if Im not wrong. Its easiar to turn rubber or tennis vball. Many talented bowlers of Pakistan have gone into wilderness and couldn't make into national team or represented Pakistan only in handful matches.

leg spin is one of the most difficult art in cricket, i am impress with his accuracy, and accuracy is not coming by magic, even to compete with this baby boy, you have to work very very hard.

you can turn miles when you have right grip and release, no matter with which ball you are bowling.

Fantastic source of inspiration.

To be able to communicate with the greatest leg-spinner of all time and your idol at the tender age of seven is something that would seem to far-fetched if it was a movie script.

To be able to bowl leg break googly and the flipper at that age is something else just wow

Been doing some research into him and apparently Ramiz Raja keeps a close eye on him from time to time.

haaha, what a vid, i like how he bounces around randomly, clearly hes enjoying what hes doing. only thing is hes gonna lose a lot of that flexibility once he gets older, needs to be careful to protect the shoulder too bowling googlies. good to watch tho.

If he keeps working on his flexibility it will help him and wont loose to much flexibility

If he keeps bowling googles in the long run his shoulders will come strong short term injuries may occur

Will we see a preteen in the Pakistani u19 team and maybe an 11-12 yo in the national team? Will be a sensational story.

Love his energy.

What are people's thoughts on him being at Under 19 trials?

Good attitude. He’s previously tried out for U-13 Balochistan trials as well at the age of 7 and now U-19 at age 8, shows he has that spark of energy and determination. I’m less impressed by the skill and more impressed by the positive approach at such a young age.

His parents are also giving him lots of support. Most important thing for any aspiring leggie is practice and rhythm - starting at a young age, getting support from family and friends, and building up the hours in the nets.

He may or may not come good 10 years from now, that is irrelevant and it is useless to associate any false hype. But it is always a treat to watch a hard worker.

I hope he continues to get support and eventually breaks into the Balochistan age group teams.

Damn, this kid is special.

We have to take care of him. Boy is a potential ATG...

Best of luck to this kid ! Just hope he keeps the hunger and dedication and am sure will represent Pakistan one day

Any news on how he did at the trails

Loving his enthusiasm and talent. But Under-19 is a step too far at this age. He's above his peers at his own age but should be playing at the under-13 or under-15 level at most. He should spend more time at a lower level and progress up the ranks as he grows.

Could have went to the trails for feedback ?

He's obviously not gonna be selected for U19, they wouldn't put a 10 year old kid against 130kph bowling.

But is the selection based on all the facets of the game or is it specific role based

common sense is also something. you cannot expose a 10 year old to life threatening injury risk. one hit to the hit at pace for young boy.... lets not go there. he has plenty of time on his side, he can continue to work with coaching to improve and progress through under 15 under 17 and then under 19 perhaps when he is 15 at least.

If it's common sense why even put him throw the trails
