Thrust into the limelight after his maiden century.

Teenager Abdul Faseeh’s first-class season was off to a dream start as the Northern opener scored his maiden century on the first day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23.

The 19-year-old left-hander made a sparkling 151 at almost run-a-ball, smashing 24 boundaries (20 fours and four sixes) in 158 balls against Southern Punjab in what is his only second match.

Faseeh added 188 runs for the second wicket with his captain Umar Amin, who missed a century by 11 runs, scoring 89 in 151 balls (11 fours and a six).

And it's only his second FC game.

On debut last season he made 47 and 94. Very impressive scoring rate too, let's hope he keeps it up.

My 1st impressions based on the U19 WC were not good. He was late on the ball and anything above waste high made him scoreless. I hope I am totally wrong on him

Always cheers me up when a young Pakistani batter does well especially in red ball cricket.

I hope he goes onto do well.

Hopefully the start of big things for the lad.

He did well and it’s especially good to see a promising leftie at the top of the order.

However, I feel the gap between domestic and international is a chasm that can only be covered by more A Team cricket.

Can I Ask Saj , are you aware of why there haven’t been more Shaheens games scheduled? Wasim Khan was big into the Shaheens but I haven’t heard similar messages from Rameez Raja. Had there been a change in thinking regarding the A Team?

Good to see that he's got off to a good start seen him at the u19s and didn't look that great thou.

He is one of the best young talent in Pakistan when it comes to batting. He scored a century today while playing for Rawalpindi against a decent bowling lineup of Lahore in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

I have high hopes from this lad. He has been prolific so far and scores at a good strike rate.

To be fair, that pitch is completely flat and everyone is piling runs. From what I saw of him, he looks a bit limited and has a very crouched batting stance. Makes me wonder how he'll handle bouncy pitches. Didn't seem to be very dynamic and lacks power hitting.

Seems like a good Test prospect but I am not sure he'll be quick enough for white ball.

highlights of his hundred

20-year-old Abdul Faseeh has played three List-A games so far. His scores have been:

68 (68)
114 (106)
54 (45)

These matches have all been played in the Pakistan Cup

He's certainly a batsman to keep an eye on.

not hating on the guy but just take a look at the bowling attacks in this comp, absolute dross even by domestic standards, the two opening bowlers in his last game he played had a combined 11 List-A wickets between them.

his hundred came against a bowler whos 40, a seamer who averages nearly 50, and hussain talat was the fourth bowling option.

this tournament is absolute dross, and even then teams are struggling to bat above 6 rpo. the future is doomed.

This kid has been a prolific batsman in under age cricket. But he has never looked that great to me. A lot of mishits and fluke shots in the videos bove.

Yep. Saw this young lad bat in a live match and he is looking like a future superstar. Surely he can be invested on and groomed properly and here you go.

Agreed. This domestic season has been really shambolic.

Under the old system, at least we had some fresh faces that popped up and stood out but it doesn't even seem like they have tried any new youngster this season. The bowling attacks in most squads is beyond horrendous, spinners are non-existent and somehow teams, outside of Karachi are struggling to bat to the modern standards at all. Even Karachi's batting is mostly on the backs of Shan & Saim dominating.

It is beyond disappointing to see so many players with such mediocre SR in this tournament and you watch the games and its like, these pitches are pretty flat but there is simply no aggression from most players. They all just look to accumulate and score 50's to keep their averages up. If Pakistan made SR a bigger priority than just runs/averages and got selected based on that criteria, then I think we will finally start to see a shift in the playstyle domestically. Unfortunately, it continues to be run of the mill.

Young Faseeh shining bright. Keep it up lad He played a swift ODI types innings in ongoing President's Trophy Test Tournament. His blistering knock of 153 at a strike rate of 89.94 helped Khan Research Laboratories to strengthen their position against HEC on conclusion of day 1. 👏IMG-20231228-WA0073.jpg

He scored 153 followed by 156 in the same match in the President's Trophy.

The last pakistani who seemed to manage this was:

Faisal Athar in 2005/6 (171 & 158)
followed by
Zaheer Abbas (county) in 1981 (215* and 150*)
Sadiq Mohammad (county) in 1976 (163* and 150)
Zaheer Abbas (county) in 1979 (216* & 156*)

Following are highlights of his impressive innings of 153.

That's my first proper look at him - another crouching wonder. Why do we produce so many batsmen with these stances ?

cos the ball dont bounce in pakistan, crouching sets you up to spring on to the front foot. his control on the cuts is far lower than on the front foot shots, and hes advancing to make the length fuller.

works against 80 mph club bowlers, wouldnt work against 85 mph bowlers on livelier pitches. his appetite for runs is good though.

Pakistan has seen some great talented players in the domestic circuit recently. Nobody can say that Pakistan has no talent. The point is how long can this guy can grind in the domestic circuit and perform consistently before he can be called for the squad? Consistency is the key here, most of these young batters fade off soon

While the runs are impressive, i think its the strike rate in which he has done is what is impressing me the most. I wasn't quite sure he was dynamic enough when I saw him in QeA to play at that rate but this is great to see from a younger player.

In the sixth round of the President's Trophy 2023-24, Abdul Faseeh, the young dynamo, gave it his all to rescue KRL, smashing a stellar century with 103 runs off 142 balls. Yet, in the end, PTV clinched the victory by a margin of 155 runs. Tough break!

KRL's Abdul Faseeh, the future of Pakistan cricket, has left an indelible mark in the President's Trophy 2023 with a phenomenal 637 runs from six matches, including three centuries and a half-century.

Honored as the joint Player of the Tournament alongside Mohammad Rameez Jnr, Faseeh's exceptional contributions didn't go unnoticed. His remarkable feat also earned him the title of Best Batter of the Tournament.

Abdul Faseeh is an extraordinary talent and look forward to witnessing his promising journey in the world of cricket.

50 up for him. A good inning so far from this guy against Sri Lanka A in the 2nd Four-Day game.

Doing pretty fine job in this series so far.

Abdul Faseeh scored a composed 77 for KRL in the first innings on Day 2 of the sixth round of the 2025 President's Trophy against Ghani Glass.
