[VIDEOS] Best James Bond movie?

Roger Moore is probably my favourite although I have the nostalgia feels for Brosnan and his movies. Craig has been brilliant to. I've not seen the Connery movies only bits and pieces.

I only watched Sean Connery on the insistence of my parents and he is by far the best for me. However, I haven't watched much of Moore admittedly. Brosnan was good. He was charming but lacked the ruthlessness of other Bonds. Craig is a pretty good Bond too.

I loved the intensity of Craig has to be said. Am going to get a look at the Connery movies at some point and I'd have to back you up and say that a lot of the older folk especially the guys I know tend to rate him quiet a bit while the women route for Moore who I found very charismatic myself. Yeah that had to be his key attribute; how natural Brosnan charm would come across on the screen probably the best in terms of that attribute out of the lot.

Did Sean Connery's Bond ever play the heel? I don't know why but I seem to assume that.

Almost every time. The guy was extremely edgy and macho and cocky as hell. Feminazis would go absolutely crazy if he did the same stuff today.
I hope this doesn't spoil anything but you can see in the first few clips how badass and edgy he was in the role

Only watched the first few :)) have to agree with you lol the girl in the tub is used as a popular meme :akhtar

For me, Daniel Craig...

Never saw any of them before Brosnan.

Don't understand the obsession with the James Bond film series - they are just generic action movies which is the lowest form of film genre.

However in light of the topic of discussion, I'd say Sean Connery with Pierce Brosnan a close second.

Don't like Craig; doesn't have enough charisma in my view. Someone like Benedict Cumberbatch/Christian Bale will be a tremendous James Bond, but still the movies will remain what they are - generic action with no plot and intelligence on display.

Pierce Brosnan is the best james bond for me. Before his james bond outing i had seen him in remington steele and it was a huge hit in india back then. I don't think i would have watched james bond movies if he had not starred in them. He had an easy breezy charm.

Craig and the Bond franchise reinvented bond on the lines of jason bourne keeping in mind the present generation tastes if they had not bond was on his way out.

I have seen 2 rooger moore bond films and there were just okay never understood the fuss about james bond then. I have also seen timothy dalton james bond movie. Most people hated him but i thought he was okay. The best bond is Peirce bronsan.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond for me. Brosnon was too soft and feminine. Connery looked too middle aged. But Craig looks like a man every bit. Loved his scene when he emerges out of the sea.

Craig has now overtaken both Connery and Brosnan for me. A genuinely perfect fit for the role.

I liked Moore's early films but he went on too long and got too old for the part, and started playing Bond for laughs. His last outing should have been The Spy Who Loved Me in 1976. That still had a bit of an edge to it.

Dalton had a bad rep because he was given two poor scripts. He was arguably the best actor to play Bond.

Of the Brosnan films I only liked Goldeneye - they got camp after that, especially the last one. And an invisible car?

Daniel Craig. Best bond ever although earlier i used to despise James Bond movies. My interest picked up after watching casino Royale.

Daniel Craig is the best bond and sky fall is cut above the rest bond movies.

Pierce Brosnan definitely was the most stylish even though he did not really match up to the books description of the character. Besides that Connery most definitely followed closely by Craig. My favorite amongst the Bond movies is Casino Royale which is perhaps why I like Craig.

And we thought Christmas only came once a year.

The first full-length trailer for No Time To Die has been released, giving fans a flavour of what to expect from Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond.

The promo, which launched on Wednesday and can be seen below, shows Rami Malek in character as the latest villain for the first time, as well as a new female agent with a licence to kill.

No Time To Die is set to be released in April, but there have been one or two obstacles along the way - from Daniel Craig's ankle injury to the decision to change director.

Danny Boyle was originally supposed to be at the helm for Bond 25, but he exited the project last August due to "creative differences".

US director Cary Joji Fukunaga stepped in, and there was a race against the clock to keep the film on schedule for its April 2020 release date.

"It has been an incredible honour, but it's also just been really hard," Fukunaga tells BBC News. "This was a very ambitious script for the time we had.

"I got the role in the middle of doing press for Maniac [the Netflix series he directed], so I was doing interviews like this while trying to process the enormous excitement but also responsibility of taking on this project.

"And I was very aware that with Daniel's departure, I had to get a script going and production going in a very short space of time. The lack of time was a sort of impetus for the pressure. It was like a very hot flame under our ***!"

The project had the added complication of having to go back to the drawing board after Boyle's exit.

"I love Danny's films, but on this one we basically had to start from scratch," Fukunaga explains. "It was the desire of the producers that we sort of start anew and figure out a new storyline for this one."

The writing process involved bringing Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge on board to help polish the script.

5 talking points from the trailer
Skip Youtube post by James Bond 007

Rami Malek is seen in character for the first time. Briefly. He's in the trailer for about two seconds in total. To be fair he's technically seen in other parts of it too but is hiding behind a white mask.

Daniel Craig literally jumps off a bridge at one point. Seemingly without a harness or parachute. The camera follows him over the edge as he plunges through the air. Fortunately there's a secure piece of rope for him to grab on to, which is a nice stroke of luck.

There's a new (female) agent in town with a licence to kill. "Are you a double-O?" James Bond asks her. "Two years," replies Lashana Lynch, which presumably means "Yes I am thank you for asking."

But there are some familiar faces too. Christoph Waltz is back, having not been shot by Bond on Westminster Bridge at the end of Spectre. Jeffrey Wright's Felix makes an appearance in the trailer too, along with Bond's previous love interest Dr Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), Q (Ben Whishaw), M (Ralph Fiennes) and Moneypenny (Naomie Harris).

Malek's villain might be Dr. No. Speculation was rife after fans noticed that neither the trailer nor the poster showed the character's hands. Could one of the franchise's most famous villains be revealed as the final member of the criminal network, Spectre?

Fukunaga refers to a new plot, but No Time To Die also appears to continue the overarching storyline which has run through the last four films.

Spectre's ending seemed to tie that narrative up, which left many wondering whether the 25th Bond film would start afresh. But the inclusion of Waltz's Blofeld in the trailer puts paid to that idea and suggests it's a continuation - something Fukunaga appears to confirm.

"I like to think of this as picking up from all the stories, from Casino [Royale] all the way through," he says. "And those who are fans will appreciate the layers that exist there, but I also think for new audiences, people who have never seen any of the films before, younger audiences, it's strong enough that they can get involved."

As well as Maniac, Fukunaga has previously directed films including Beasts of No Nation and a 2011 adaptation of Jane Eyre starring Mia Wasikowska.

'Misogynistic dinosaur'
Perhaps the most interesting part of the trailer is Lashana Lynch's appearance as a new member of MI6.

Having a female double-O marks a slight change in direction in the franchise. No Time To Die is the first Bond film since #MeToo, but would the film series have evolved in this direction anyway?

"Yes, I think so," Fukunaga says. "Bond started evolving probably 25 years ago, when Judi Dench's M called out Pierce Brosnan's Bond for being a misogynistic dinosaur and a relic of the Cold War."

(He's quoting, almost verbatim, from one of the first scenes Dench and Brosnan shared in 1995's GoldenEye.)

"I think Lashana's role is not about being female, she's just a younger generation," Fukunaga says. "There's the whole thing going around the internet right now about 'OK Boomer', and I just think of how younger generations challenge what the previous generations legacy means.

"And I think for Lashana, she has a lot to prove, she's capable, she's physical, she's intelligent. And the world has changed, and she feels she's inheriting a world that agents like Bond had operated in. And it's like, they want to make their mark. That's how I think of it. Less so than just because she's female, we're in a world where that's not even the considerations. It's more, 'is she capable of being a double-O?'"

One person who became (temporarily) incapable of being a double-O was Daniel Craig, who injured his ankle while shooting the film. But, Fukunaga says, that wasn't as disruptive to the schedule as you might imagine.

"If you think about a film this ambitious, this long, with this many stunts, the fact that we had one sprained ankle and a concussion over that period of time was a pretty high achievement," he says.

"[Craig's ankle injury] delayed us a little bit, but he didn't miss a day of being on set after that. He was on set working out and doing PT [physical therapy] the entire time. We had to do a little juggling on schedule and scenes, but that was pretty much it."

No Time To Die isn't actually finished yet. Filming wrapped last month but the movie is now in post-production, which means Fukunaga "still hasn't had time to really process" the whole experience. "I think I'll probably have to sit down next summer and figure out what just happened," he says.

Ask the directors of Cats or Sonic The Hedgehog whether launching a trailer is a positive experience and you might find them cowering in the corner of a room from the trauma.

But Fukunaga is less anxious about the social media reaction to the Bond trailer. "We don't have any computer graphics animals in our trailer," he laughs, "so we're less worried about that."

Sean Connery no doubt.

Though Timothy Dalton was the perfect Bond according to the books.

Roger Moore for me. He was the Bond when I was a kid. Plus, he's hilarious.

Second would be Craig.

Third, Connery.

Brosnan was terrible imo. Dalton too.

Roger Moore has probably 1-2 of the best Bond movies....Spy who loved me being one. I think in contention for the best is Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. Unfortunately, the rest of this Bond movies were pretty bad.

Actually they are all pretty bad on average. A handful of good ones, and the rest suck. Just the cool factor of Bond is what keeps them going.

Connery
Moore
Craig
Dalton
Brosnan
George lazenby
David Niven

Overrated movie. I can even understand twilight having a fan group but never understood what's so special about bond movies.

Jason Bourne and Mission Impossible series has taken over James Bond.

I don't know why Skyfall is so highly rated. It is a poor movie.

It’s a retelling of the classic British myth. Bond as Arthur, Q as Merlin, Silva as Mordred. Judi Dench’s swan song with her marvellous stirring Tennyson quote. The new M is Mallory.

I rate Craig very highly. My favourite is probably the reboot Casino Royal. It develops Bond’s character the most, explains how the brutal government hit-man comes to be who he is.

Die another Day: Brosnan. The most gizmo filled bond movie, before the Bond producers made Bond movies more like Jason Bourne with Craig and Casino Royale.

Diamonds are forever is another favourite.

Best Bond, Roger Moore.

I’ve changed my mind from earlier

Craig is easily the best Bond

Casino Royale is easily the best bond film

Skyfall is the most beautiful looking bond film and has the best opening

Overall the bond series is obviously very average and often extremely mediocre

Certainly has the best theme song, and one of the best villains in Jaws. It was pretty much a remake of You Only Live Twice otherwise (submarines instead of apace capsules, superpowers provoked toward nuclear exchange).

Casino Royale hands down the most classic Bond film till date.

The release of the new James Bond film has been put back by seven months as coronavirus continues to spread.

The producers said they had moved the release of No Time To Die from April to November after "careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace".

The announcement comes days after the founders of two 007 fan sites called on the film studios to delay its release.

It will now come out in the UK on 12 November, and in the US on 25 November.

No Time To Die, which is due to be Daniel Craig's final appearance as the British secret service agent, had been due for release on 3 April.

The world premiere had been scheduled to take place on 31 March at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

"Just one person, who may not even show symptoms, could infect the rest of the audience," wrote the founders of MI6 Confidential and The James Bond Dossier, in an open letter on Monday.

"This is not the type of publicity that anyone wants."

The last Bond film, Spectre, took almost $900m (£690m) at worldwide box offices in 2015.

Some film analysts have suggested the coronavirus could wipe $5bn (£3.8bn) off the global box office, with many of China's cinemas already closed and revenues hit in South Korea and Italy.

The news comes amid increased concerns about people gathering together, but it is the first major film to change its schedule as a result.

The Hollywood Reporter editorial director Matthew Belloni wrote that it was "a huge and very costly move, and a sign of what's likely to come with Hollywood's big summer movies".

Screen International deputy editor Louise Tutt told BBC News the decision was "about mitigating the financial risk".

She said: "I think they're doing it in anticipation of cinemas closing around the world. Most of them have already closed in China, so even if not another single cinema closed in the world they'd lose the world's second-biggest box office [market] for what's anticipated to be the biggest US release of the year."

Monday's fan letter said: "It's just a movie. The health and wellbeing of fans around the world, and their families, is more important.

"We have all waited over four years for this film. Another few months will not damage the quality of the film and only help the box office for Daniel Craig's final hurrah."

The 25th Bond film co-stars Oscar winner Rami Malek as "a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology".

Its release had already been pushed back from October 2019 after original director Danny Boyle dropped out.

The movie's Beijing premiere and Chinese promotional tour, which had been scheduled for April, were cancelled in February.

The Chinese cinema releases of the new Mulan and Sonic the Hedgehog films were also delayed after the virus spread.

A new trailer for No Time To Die - James Bond's 25th cinema outing - has been released online.

The two-minute 34 second video ups the stakes for the long awaited movie, telling fans that this is: "The mission that changes everything."

It kicks off with Bond narrowly avoiding being run down by a speeding car, before jumping from a viaduct and smashing into a wall.

The mission that changes everything begins… #NoTimeToDie in cinemas this November. pic.twitter.com/nBP6aUrwDy

— James Bond (@007) September 3, 2020
It shows shootouts on land, air and sea; car, motorbike and 4x4 chases; and further glimpses of the movie's villain, Safin, played by Oscar-winning Rami Malek.

Set to the iconic 007 theme music, we also get to see another of the film's villains, Blofeld, played by Christoph Waltz (although no long-haired white cat is in sight).

Sitting in a cage in his prison cell, he says: "James, fate draws us back together and now your enemy is my enemy".

That shared enemy is of course Safin, who we learn is seeking revenge, possibly in the form of Bond's love interest, Dr Madeleine Swann.

We are told: "When her secret finds its way out, that will be the death of him", before we see Swann burning a note with "Forgive me" scrawled across it.

We see a world-weary and battered Bond surprising Swann (played by French actress Lea Seydoux) in her hotel room, and cryptically telling her: "The past isn't dead".

Later, they appear in a passionate embrace. There have been reports that the couple are set to be married in No Time To Die.

Ana de Armas high-kicks her way into her first Bond girl role, wearing a floor length black evening gown and kicking a suited man in the face after reprimanding 007 for being late.

Lashana Lynch is introduced by Bond with a pun, with him calling her "a disarming young woman" after she attempts to shoot him.

Miss Moneypenny, played by Naomie Harris, reassures her: "Everyone tries at least once."

She later takes to the skies with Bond in a futuristic aeroplane that appears to travel in both the air and underwater, despite admitting she's never actually flown one before.

Lynch will play a character called Nomi, who will take over Bond's famous 007 agent digits.

In the second half of the trailer, Safin tells Bond: "We both eradicate people to make the world a better place. I just want to be a little tidier."

We see him wearing a Japanese Kabuki mask (which later in the trailer is part-destroyed) over his scarred face while wearing a fur-lined Parka and firing a machine gun.

In this movie, we are told it's hard to "tell the good from the bad" and the "villains from the heroes".

However, Safin is clearly a bad guy with a mission, as we're told: "He's going to kill millions". Bond says taking offensive action isn't an option, warning: "If we don't do this, there will be nothing left to save".

A new poster was revealed earlier this week, showing a suave looking James Bond in full black tie, against a black and white background.

A 10-second teaser was also shared on the official James Bond Twitter account on Wednesday, ahead of the full trailer.

The first trailer for the film came out in February amid much hype, with journalists invited to an exclusive screening of the two-minute and 32 second video in the cinema.

It's been a long and protracted journey for the franchise's latest instalment, which will be Daniel Craig's fifth and final outing in the role.

It's four years since Spectre hit our screens, and various production issues - including an unexpected change of director and a global pandemic - have pushed the release of No Time To Die back to November.

After Danny Boyle walked away from the film in 2018 due to "creative differences", True Detective director Cary Joji Fukunaga stepped in to replace him.

Another new addition to the production team who has caused much excitement is Phoebe Waller-Bridge .

The Fleabag creator was personally approached by Craig in the hope that she could add humour to the script and help make Bond more relevant in the #MeToo era.

Filming has taken place in locations including Italy, Jamaica, Norway and London, as well as in the slightly less glamorous environs of Pinewood Studios near Slough.

Earlier this year, director Fukunaga told Empire Magazine that despite the delay in getting to screen, he hasn't changed the movie during the extra production time, saying he has already "mentally and emotionally" finished the film ahead of lockdown.

While coronavirus has meant most major releases over the last six months have premiered on streaming services, Christopher Nolan's Tenet became the first big release to open in cinemas this month.

It seems likely that No Time To Die will follow in its footsteps, with a socially distanced opening in venues worldwide.

The film industry will be hoping the long-awaited release will provide a boost to venues, which have been struggling due to lockdown and the delayed release of many big box office movies over the summer.

The release of the new James Bond film has been delayed again.

The premiere of No Time To Die has already been moved from April to November due to the pandemic.

The film has now been further delayed until 2 April 2021 "in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience", a statement on the film's website said.

"We understand the delay will be disappointing to our fans but we now look forward to sharing No Time To Die next year."

No Time To Die is due to be Daniel Craig's final appearance as the British secret service agent.

Daniel Craig's final James Bond film is finally having its world premiere in London, 18 months later than planned because it was delayed by the pandemic.

No Time To Die is the British actor's fifth outing as 007.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live on the red carpet, he said the role was "incredibly important to cinema and to history, and the weight of that has been on my shoulders for a while".

"I've been incredibly lucky," he added. The film hits UK cinemas on Thursday.

Lashana Lynch stars as a new secret agent in No Time To Die

The Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also due at the premiere.

Advance ticket sales in the UK have been at levels not seen since before cinemas shut at the start of the pandemic, according to the Odeon and Cineworld chains.

Odeon said it had sold more than 175,000 tickets by Monday, while Cineworld said it had the highest pre-booking rates since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Producer Barbara Broccoli, who controls the franchise with co-producer Michael G Wilson, said they would not start thinking about his replacement until next year.

"We're not thinking about it at all," she told BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday. "We want Daniel to have his time of celebration. Next year, we'll start thinking about the future."

but Pierce Brosnan looked the most badass

Agreed that Bond movies were very racist and xenophobic... but if you can put that aside they were fun. Goldfinger was my favorite, followed by Moonraker.

Looking forward to seeing Craig’s last run, and Lashana Lynch as 007 too.

I concur. My top five are probably -

From Russia with Love (for that “could actually happen” feel and excellent Robert Shaw villain),

Live and Let Die (for the sheer style)

The Spy Who Loved Me (as a sort of classier and tougher version of You Only Live Twice, with the brilliant pre-credit sequence and super theme song)

Casino Royale (hard reboot, blunter and more brutal Bond which shows how he evolves into the remorseless government hitman)

Skyfall (retelling the King Arthur myth, with Judy Dench’s killer speech encapsulating Britishness at the inquest).

Brilliant list.

I would probably swap out LALD for Goldfinger & add in an honourable mention for You Only Live Twice, but otherwise agreed.

Very excited for the new film.

The opening scene from The Spy who loved me is amazing!

The skiing is wonderful! Such absolutely fantastic skill. Also the emotional weight with Bond taking out Triple X’s lover and them all being unaware of the connection between them. And not forgetting the Union Jack parachute, done in one take. If you look closely, you can see a near horrific accident wherein one of the skis flies past the parachute and nearly hits the stuntman. Incredible!

No Time To Die will be the first film I watch in a cinema since the Covid pandemic.

Really looking forward it.

Finding it difficult to do a Top 5...
Thunder ball, you only live twice, From Russia With Love, Diamonds Are Forever and Goldfinger are all brilliant but then where do I fit in The Spy who Loved Me, Casino Royal, The Living Daylights and Skyfall?
Not to mention The Man with the Golden Gun, the underrated License to Kill????

I watched that as a lad on holiday on the Isle of Wight. It was powerful stuff, as were the Egypt sequences at the Pyramids show, and Jaws wrecking the British Leyland Sherpa van.

A marketing opportunity both for Leyland and for Ford, with the brand new Mk4 Cortina chasing the Lotus.

And Caroline Monroe in the chopper, who had an effect on my emerging sexuality.

Munro, rather.

The new movie is getting good reviews. Looks like Craig is going out on a high (unlike every Bond before him).

1. The spy who loved me
2. Goldeneye
3. For Your Eyes Only
4. Goldfinger
5. Casino Royale

Favourite Bond?

Well, there's Connery and then there's everyone else. He was a big enough guy to look dangerous, sharp enough to be witty, charismatic and nobody has ever looked better in an Aston.

Honestly, there is Connery and then everyone else. I personally enjoyed Lazenby, who brought a sense of maturity and nuance to the role which was completely missing the Moore or even the boring Dalton years. Then Brosnan brought back the suave and the silliness was toned down but the Craig years and I know this will be controversial, have been confusing.

Casino Royale was supposed to the rebooted in line with the Bourne films, Quantum had no idea if i twas Bond or Bourne...Skyfall was too serious yet ended with Home Alone tactics :facepalm and finally Spectre was a mess.

No Time To Die is confusing...will feminists get what they want?

The whole George Lazenby story is fascinating.

He could have been a great Bond, given another 2-3 films at least. He was very physically convincing and agile, and as a result he excels in the OHMSS action sequences. He also makes Bond thoroughly human in the ending scene. I believe that only Lazenby, and Craig (in Skyfall) have depicted Bond as shedding a tear.

Apparently Diana Rigg found George arrogant and demanding on set, and she once ate raw garlic before filming a love scene with him to give him a shock. George also turned out to be difficult to work with for the producers. He then turned up to the film premiere with long hair and a beard.

The guy shot himself in the foot in my opinion. He could have been really really good.

Don’t think I have see it all. Something about bobsleighs…..

"The Spy Who Loved Me" is the best Bond film I have ever seen, it had the best Bond girl too also introduced the gadget culture common with Roger Moore's Bond brand . TSWLM was a trendsetter in many ways particularly the opening scene when Bond being chased by the baddies jumps of the cliff. I don't understand why Moore was not ranked higher by Bond fans and critics:13:

Other Moore films were underrated too with "Moonraker" and "A View To A kill" being a fine examples. Really enjoy watching "The Man With The Golden Gun" too. If Moore was the worst Bond as rated by so called experts then he wouldn't have played the role the most times.

I don't like any Bond film where other actors play the lead role.

Moore is not rated highly because he lacked Connery’s toughness and machismo. He just about got away with it for his first three films, but really should have stopped after TSWLM. After that he was too old to be credible in fight scenes, was copping off with girls half his age, and played the role more and more for campy laughs.

Sean Connery was hardly tough and macho! In one Bond film he was beaten up by bikini clad ladies:P Thing is being the original Bond he is considered to be the best for that reason. He was much better in films like "The Rock" , "Highlander", "Rising Sun" "Medicine Man", and "Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade then his Bond offerings. Moore did struggle to establish himself outside the Bond character.

"Live and Let Die" Moore's debut was another underrated film. The title track by Paul McCartney was super cool too. Only thing a bit uncomfortable about it was how all black people were shown in bad light. Ian Fleming did have a reputation of being a racist!

He wasn’t, he held them under water. It was done for titillation.

My favourite post-Bond Connery film was Outland, a tough and believable space western.

Roger Moore easily. He had charisma and smiled a lot. His movies were very funny.

Since then I've stopped watching Bond films, you've seen 2, you've seen them all.

Craig is horrible, he can hardly raise a smile, looks angry.

Bond films are pretty trash, the same old story, some British spy saves the world from the evil Russians. Yawn. In real life Russia can walk in, do what they like and waltz out while James and Jane Bond are driking earl grey tea.

After getting owned by some chicks!!:afridi

The new one is solid. Better than solid in fact. It’s very good. Go and see it! :)

Completely agree. I get the feeling that people like it because it is seen as a massive cultural product but they are very ordinary films with little artistic merit.

In the future, their enjoyment will be further diluted by the inclusion of a black bond or female bond to make political points. Bond films were enjoyed by both males and females because they were slightly sexist and misogynistic.

I've never really looked forward to them or got the hype. I won't be watching this one in the cinema but may watch it if a decent stream comes up.

I know the Oscars/Baftas aren't the be all and end all of movies but Bond movies have only ever one tier 2 awards such as best sound or best mixing. You would expect if they were any good that they would have won something half decent over time.

I think Casino Royale was a great film. I like Sean Connery too but overall the Daniel Craig films really brought Bond to the 21st century. I enjoyed his films more than others. Spectre was great too.

Have you watched any? The Russians haven’t been the villains since Connery’s time. It’s always some shadowy international cartel.

The reason Craig doesn’t smile is because his Bond is damaged by losing Vesper Lynn, then by alcohol and drug use, which you would know if you watch his films.

Bond wouldn’t ever drink tea.

Daniel Craig's final film as James Bond has notched up the highest opening weekend UK takings of any 007 movie.

Craig's fifth outing as 007 made £21m between Friday and Sunday, according to box office trackers Comscore.

It beat Skyfall's first weekend takings of £20.2m and Spectre's £19.8m. Those films sit at numbers two and three in the all-time UK box office chart.

Many in the industry are hoping No Time to Die will kickstart the box office after cinemas shut during the pandemic.

It was directed by US film-maker Cary Joji Fukunaga and also stars Lea Seydoux, Rami Malek and Lashana Lynch.

Most critics praised the film, with many giving five-star reviews after its premiere at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this week. But some suggested the movie did not quite justify its 163-minute running time.

Universal said No Time to Die opened in 772 cinemas in the UK and Ireland on Thursday - 25 more than the previous record-holder, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, in 2019.

When Skyfall made its big screen debut nine years ago, it opened in 587 cinemas.

Focus will soon switch to how No Time to Die performs on the other side of the Atlantic when the film opens there on 8 October.

Other major countries yet to experience 007's latest adventures include France, Russia, China and Australia, with release global dates scheduled for later this month and November.

The box office market in the US and Canada currently appears to be in rude health, with Venom: Let There Be Carnage taking $90.1m (£66.3m) on its debut this weekend, setting a new pandemic-era record.

The supervillain sequel starring Tom Hardy also beat the original film's first weekend haul of $80.1m in 2018.

The new Bond is making quite the waves. I guess I have to go see it when it’s released in the US.

Hilarious!

The was this dude comments on various topics and issues, he tries to create this impression how he is such a big expert in most matters and yet this thread is a prime example of the truth. He knows nothing and just wings it based on whatever comes to his mind, or whatever he has heard from others.

Haha.. Bond sipping tea and fighting Russians.

I always thought Roger Moore was the “clown” Bond. His movies have aged the worst amongst all the Bonds. Campy fare, most of it.

No doubt this will happen, putting the final nail into these films.

For me they need to more realistic, the story of a spy combating others in proxy warfare would make a great set of movies but Bond & MI6 have been done to death now.

I found Jhonny English more entertaining.
