The reason why he won't get many chances is becouse he's not good enough hence why not many counties would even pick him internationally.

What trophies has sharjeel won ?

And you think averaging around 28 against India at 143 is good enough lol.

Maybe we should play Afridi in the opening slot due to having a higher strike rate than Sharjeel in psl.

No, the reason why he won’t get any chances is because of his prior ban, not because he’s not good enough because he is. His ODI stats are almost as good as the England openers.

Sharjeel won IU the PSL, 3rd highest run scorer that season.

28 @ 143 is better than 50 @ 120. There’s a reason why Joe Root has been replaced by the likes of Bairstow, Roy and Buttler, it’s because they have decent averages with high strike rates. Joe Root only had high average and his sr was too slow so he was replaced.

The fact that you have Sharjeel in the same category as Bairstow, Buttler and Roy is telling enough. Troll all you want but at least try to sound genuine.

No it isn't almost as good as England.

Babar won the tournament for his team in 2020 He also won man of the match award in Qualifier and Final something that Sharjeel can only dream off.

Why you keep bringing his psl up why not bring international stats into it unless you think psl is bigger.

Root was replaced by Malan not by the players you mentioned in t20s lol.

Morgan and Hales average in the 30’s, if they were Pakistani cricketers, posters here would still say Rizwan and Babar are better and can’t be replaced.

Sharjeel one IU the tournament in 2016. Leading run scorer for IU in 2016 and 3rd highest run scorer that season. Also, scored 100 of 60 balls in the game before the final. His dreams have become a reality a long time ago.

Because that’s where he’s played most his games? 18 T20i’s aren’t enough to judge a player.

Point still stands, if Root was Pakistani he’d still be playing T20i’s over the likes of Malan and others.
 
Liability on the field - they have him there to stop single and cant even save that.
 
He is the most important player in this KK side. If he fires, the team will do well. Him getting out early will lessen their chances of a win by a large margin because Babar is incapable of handling pressure whilst scoring at a fast rate.
 
He's a fielder who the opposition will always target for extra runs.

In tight matches, every run counts and fielding counts.

I've just seen him chase a ball then turn and throw the ball about 15 yards away from the wicket-keeper.

If Misbah played this knock, we wouldn't hear the end of it.

It comes to no surprise that once the dark Misbah had ended, Pakistan have produced better white ball batsmen.

There is no one to tell them to bat at a strike rate of 70-75 anymore.
 
The problem I have with some of these posters is that they think that no one else can do what Babar and Rizwan do or do even better than them. It’s a loser mindest.

“Oh, he’s averaging 50 with a SR of 125 so how can we drop him” - easy, there’s 2 players that can average 30 with a SR of 140+, they’ll win you more games than the tuktuks.

Can't argue with his batting efforts so far in the PSL despite his fitness issues.

I recall when Inzamam lost weight he wasn't quite the same with the bat. I wonder if this would be the case with Sharjeel?

International matches are obviously a complete different ballpark compared to the franchise leagues so why would you make a liability replace your most technically sound batsman in the national team? Simply look at Hazratullah Zazai who is basically Sharjeel 2.0. He was smashing every bowler in PSL last year but his poor fitness cost us the T20WC. Pak team is obviously trying to move forward because skill alone cannot compensate for other areas of the game like in the past. It would mean going two steps back if Sharjeel returns to the national side again.

Don't understand what most of people's issue is with Sharjeel all you guys care about Babar and Rizwan open as it suits them to start steady and get some runs. Same was case with Misbah fans back in days and everyone was like watch when Misbah goes we will struggle to make 100 or 150 but we was making much More after he retired lol.

Babar and Rizwan are Pakistans vests batsmens no doubt and Sharjeel/Fakhar or anyone shouldn't be replacing them and no one asking that. But if a Sharjeel and Fakhar is batting excellent opening then yes one of them can open alongside one of Babar/Rizwan and one of them can bat 3 it will just suit Pakistan better and will help Pakistan. Get out of this player supporting zone only just like Misbah back in the days this is Pakistan cricket do best what's for Pakistan who cares who makes runs.

No one asking to replace technically sound batsmen. That's the issue fans of Babar/Rizwan don't care about Pakistan winning or losing as long as Babar and Rizwan opening so they can play long make runs. And just by saying a Sharjeel should open don't meant dropping one of them out of team we have people like khushdil and others who have no place in internationals in side and Sharjeel is better then them. One of Babar and Rizwan can bat 3. But no it will give their golden boys less time to make runs all they care about.

Why do you think it's player supporting not to want Sharjeel? I have nothing against him personally. I am merely against the idea of overweight, unfit, fat, mediocre fixers being in the side.

Sharjeel looks good at the domestic level but I believe of the chances he has been given internationally more recently, he hasn’t really taken them with both hands like he would a kebab.

If there’s a case for someone to open other then Babar/Riswan then it would have to be Fakhar without a doubt.

Amir will always be a legend for bending India, Sharjeel has a much better attitude then him though and the way he was convicted wasn’t really professional, so the level of hate for him as a fixer being similar to Amir etc is a bit weird and also the personal attacks, he likes a Kebab nothing wrong with that, cricket isn’t for athlete’s really, this isn’t Boxing :yk
 
Sharjeel has been smashing Shaheen quite a few times now in the opening spell. He went after him in the national cup also.

If he can deal with Shaheen’s new ball spell with confidence, it would be ignorant to say he isn’t international quality.

What? That would mean Fakhar moving down the order which would be completely insane. Your top order batsman are some of the best I've seen in years and requires no tweaking. Your priority right now should be finding an all-rounder who can play a solid knock in the middle. I don't have faith in either Imad or Shadab to fulfill that role consistently so you guys should get your priorities straight.

Speaking of Sharjeel, he has a good raw ability to slog in T20’s but you need more then talent and ability to succeed at the highest level, you meed to be strong mentally and disciplined. Seriously, who would trust this guy in a big game against India?

I use to be excited to see him bat but he is past it, the last we saw him in the green shirt he was struggling against Zimbabwe and the West Indies and his international average of 22 or so in T20I’s reflects that, comparing him with any of the Pak openers at this stage is futile. I don’t see him having consistent success beyond the domestic level, his record and recent performances at the international level indicate he is better off entering man vs food instead :afridi

I can't imagine him keeping up with Rizwan in running between the wickets. The last thing we need in a WC game is for an opener to be run out or worse, converting doubles to singles. With Sharjeel, there's always going to be a danger that he or his partners will get run out.
 
He gave up once he saw the fielder n then tried too little too late He wouldve made it made it with full effort n commitment

Sums up his lazy lazy attitude to his cricket
 
Unfortunately he's put on more weight than before and now looks even more immobile than he originally was.

His batting hasn't looked as good as it once was.

I am even more shocked that KK and PCB keep allowing Sharjeel to keep getting away with his poor fitness. IPL and the BCCI will immediately drop an unfit player even if he is world class.

So much for 'fItNeSs iSn'T iMpOrTaNt'. He couldn't even put in a measly dive to save his wicket.

Not only did the bowler Faheem Ashraf outrun him from roughly the same distance but he also collected the ball and dislodged the stumps in the same time as he took a couple of steps lol.

How can anyone---whether its him or the fans---say everything is not about fitness after looking at what a liability he is on the field and in between the wickets. And I haven't even opened the can of worms that is this hack's batting.

Anyone batting with Babar should know that he has to do all the hard work, Babar will just score the odd boundary and look to give you strike
 
Wasim Akram has routinely commented on the need for Sharjeel to improve his fitness. On the Pavilion show he mentioned he had the conversation with him in the last PSL season and Sharjeel ended up coming in even fatter, unfit this season. The problem is with the player himself. You can take a horse to water but you can't force him to drink it.

Unless the PSL Franchises, PCB domestic teams and the national team in unison do not act strict on unfit players i.e. regardless of name, talent, you will not play until you reach acceptable fitness standards, these players will not make the effort to get fit.
 
This guy should not be in green shirts even of he scores hundreds,just because of his pathetic fitness
