Looks very good. Spins it big both ways, and seems difficult to read from the hand.

Has started his career well:

PCB-PEPSI Stars U-16 One Day Tournament 2018/19

5 matches
31 overs
5 maidens
8 wickets
16.13 average
23.25 s/r

More recently, he was the highest wicket taker in PCB U-16 Pentangular Tournament 2018-19

5 matches
37 overs
3 maidens
10 wickets
15.70 average
22.20 s/r

As a result, was selected for Pakistan U16 series vs Australia U16. His performances so far:

9.3-1-33-3 (First ODI)
8-1-47-1 (Second ODI)
9-2-26-5 (Third ODI)

One to watch.

His "walk up" has a bit of Warne's lazy elegance to it.

Good thing he is slower through air and flighting the ball which allow him to spin the ball also he have decent wrong one which is always a great weapon for wrist spinner.
 
People here might be angry at this post but 4 out of the 5 wickets were rubbish deliveries that would not get any wickets in international cricket. The 2nd wicket was class though. However this is only U-16 so it really doesn't matter. What matters is how this kid can take his game to the next level. At the moment all 5 of his wickets have come from different lines and lengths. That will not be good enough at the international level. He needs to just blindly follow Kuldeep Yadav and learn how he bowls 6 deliveries on middle stump on a length. That should be his challenge. If you can bowl in one spot consistently, wickets will come naturally.

From the video, the WK looks very quick, Dhoni-esque stumpings
 
That second delivery was very good. The rest were not that great but still he is young has lots of time to develop.

Having worked with a young bowler with the same style i can tell you now that he has no chance to even make as a solid Bowler in FC bowler. If he does and i am wrong then that will be brilliant and i will be badly wrong.

In spin bowling, run up don't matte much as long as the follow up and mometum is right. Most state level players (only trained with them never played for state at senior level) and junior state level struggle against spin bowlers with slow run up. I noticed that the batsmen take extra time in playing spinners with slow run up.

The problem with Chinaman bowlers is that they open up both sides and they bowl into the natural hitting arc of the right handed batsman, they can be hit out of the attack. As I said before, it will be a great achievement for this lad to even make it to FC, if he gets higher honours, then that would be brilliant.

14 wickets now in just the last 3 matches. Sitting as highest wicket taker of the season right now with 20 wickets.

Having been through the journey of my lad who bowled Chinaman, what I said was from a personal experience. I would urge him to learn to bowl around the wicket but for some bizarre reason the Chinaman bowlers find it difficult to do that, but right arm leg spinners don't have as many issues coming around the wicket to left handed batsman.

Its a unique style of bowling which isnt very common and sample size is pretty small even if we consider entire history of international cricket. Even if you consider Wasim Akram before him other than 2-3 reasonable examples there weren’t many left arm fast bowlers who can be said as successful.

In the end there can be number of things which as per history can be obstacles in ones career but they can’t predict the future with accuracy. Yes probabilities can be high or low of something but then you cant rely on it completely while eliminating other possibilities. As I said, Wasim Akram also had a low probability of success if one considers history.

At the end I agree that certain type of bowling can have low probability of success based upon history but like any style at the end it comes down to ones skillset and effort to learn, improve and adapt.

I am not denying any of what you are saying and there will be one that breaks through but ultimately it will come down to whether he has the rip and I mean real rip into the right hander because that's where my lad failed. As I said it would be amazing to see the youngster make mince meat out of batsman.

Three day U19 tournament starting in a few days. Will be very successful iA. After that it’s Pakistan national U19 team and world cup in 2022.

The only guy in the white ball camp before SA tour who is yet to debut at domestic level. Have been doing well at junior level for sometime now hopefully domestic selectors will give him opportunities in the coming season.

Yes that’s actually a good point that they may want to be better prepared against Shamsi. Good learning curve for the Faisal while Pak batsmen can bat against some chinamen bowling.
 
I was very impressed with him tonight , he was only bowler who beat Sharjeel.

Looked different and more impressive than anyone.

Good that Muhammad Wasim called him.
 
We desperately need variety we had ahsan baig but he faded after his teens...Chinaman are very rare we need to groom them

Good lad, looks his age too. We need more youngsters like him, lets throw out all the age fudgers from u19 and below regardless of their ability, liars are not tolerated. I wish him all the success.

It may come as a surprise for many cricket fans reading this, but Faisal has received a bat from the Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Faisal Akram said: “I have had conversations with him (Hardik) on Instagram. He has sponsored a bat for me from there (India),”
 
Looks like a promising young lad.

Training with the national team / net bowling at them will be a good experience.

Hopefully he can get an FC contract for next season.
 
Glad to see someone who actually looks u19.He will definetely get selected for u 19 wc and few good performances can earn him a psl contract.He will most likely also get into Southern Punjabs 2nd 11 since he is on good terms with Ali tareen.Time to get rid of the darters

Why 2nd he doesn't need that he has 4 wickets in practice games against Pakistan full oneday side bamboozled Babar Azam , Surely should be in playing 11 of FC team South punjab.
 
If he's good enough, he should get chances and should be fast-tracked into the QEA 1st XI's.

Surely Misbah and Co. can use some leverage to boot out some underperforming spinner and make place for Faisal, if he certainly is as much of a talent as people are saying.

A left-arm chinaman bowler is rare, and given our woes with spin (in all formats), it could be a good move to give him opportunities at all levels (not the national team yet) to see how he comes out.

If he turns out good, he could seriously be used in all formats, and given his young age, he would be a long-term solution to our spin-bowling.

Should be sent to the NHPC to work with Mushtaq Ahmed and Saqlain Mushtaq to develop himself more. If I'm not mistaken, Mushtaq Ahmed has worked with Kuldeep Yadav before, and should be able to use that experience to make Faisal into a better spinner.

Let him work his way up second xi,then first xi but yes i heard he bamboozled babar but he should be developed properly.
 
Hes a good talent and should be played in the second xi and then brought into the first xi in the longer format

Part of the U19 tour for Bangladesh - final 17 - looking forward to his bowling there, a lot of hype about his abilities as above.

He looks very raw at the moment. Some great deliveries followed by plenty of loose ones that any decent batter would put away. Still looked better than the guy Ali Majid at the other end who took more wickets but was all over the place with his leg-spin.
 
Good prospect, but this tournament isn’t the ideal place to judge him.

We all know how the SENA international/T20 level batsmen take down spinners in comparison to Pakistan domestic and international players.
 
They guy seems to have huge ego for someone so young and unknown quantity I think he was rightly benched by Ijaz in the U19 WC.

Hasn’t performed in domestic matches in last 2 years as well.
 
Him , Arish Ali Khan and Sufyan Muqeem are the only domestic spinners who can actually turn the ball with Arish on top. And for some reasons neither of them in the first XI teams in FC because they have senior darters as their spinners
 
He is one of the only few left-arm chinamen that Pakistan have. Really need to groom him for the future. he surely can make a mark like Shamsi has been doing. He should be trying to have a good tournament here for himself so he can be seen by everyone and get noticed by selectors. Right now, he is too raw and really need to do well.
 
Faisal Akram has been named in the ODI squad for the upcoming Australia and Zimbabwe tours. How good was this decision.??
 
Faisal will be making his ODI debut today against Zimbabwe in the first ODI game of the series. Let's see what he has got.
 
Strikes. 1st ODI wicket for him. Deserved that wicket, he was bowling very nicely.
 
Rizwan putting him in pressure for no reason, he is being scolded for flighting the delivery and also being scold heavily for bowling his first wrong one in 4th over.

Not good from Rizwan.
 
He needs more overs under his belt. He can be our Kuldeep Yadav with the ball.
