So now part of Karachi Kings, will we see a newer/better version of Haider emerge? Same happened to Azam Khan when he moved from QG to ISLU?

Here is what Imad said about him in recent interview

Imad Wasim in an interview:

“I’ve always believed in Haider ... especially when he was playing under me in Northern,”

“The key is to keep him up the order so he can score runs. I’ve watched him closely and I believe this will be his season.”
 
As per Imad's comments looks like Haider is gonna get good number of opportunities in the top order. Ofcoruse having trust of captain and management helps a lot alongside having a set number. Its not like Haider didn't have opportunities to play under different style of managements in PZ and Pakistan team however, for a young batter consistency in position is important which Haider wasnt always given.

Still a lot of things to improve on from Haider's side as well especially his balance at the crease, keeping his shape alongside his game sense.
 
The title of the thread implies as if the old management was responsible for Haider’s failure which is not true.

Interestingly Imad has used the phrase “believe in Haider”.

You only use the word believe when there are doubts.
 
Imad does that he tends to back his batters.

He used the same phrase for Sharjeel for a couple of seasons.
 
When you prefer to play T20 cricket all over the world, you only have yourself to blame. Should have played 2 years of proper 4 day cricket.
 
He is the new Umar Akmal. Need to accept it. Will definitely play a few outstanding innings here and there, but that's 2/10.
 
Haider has the potential to be a dynamic 3 format player.

We must persist with him in the hope that he comes good.

I hope he gets the chance to open the innings in this PSL.

I think he can have a good season and he will average 30+ with a 140+ SR in this PSL.

One feels it's more the player than the team he plays with which could be the problem.

Where are we going with this lad. He just isn't showing any consistency or performances.

That Haider Ali of his debut toor vs South Africa where he hit the fifties are far far away.

Todays total was too high to judge him . But looking at all recent performances, this guy has struggled.

Even in the BPL he couldn’t delivery anything in the middle order.

Problem
Is he is Platinum category but brings hardly anything for it. He should be Silver at best, that the only way one will want to improve.

With 100K in his bag for past two three season means as a Pakistani he is already happily retired.

Generational wealth settled.
 
I hope he doesn't become another of those Pakistani once in a blue moon batters.

He's certainly heading that way.

Haider needs to open for KK and wade to drop to middle order..Haider needs to be told to play as anchor role and try to play all 20 overs for at least next 4 matches to try to gain confidence
 
Needs to go back to zero and work himself back up. Should not be anywhere near the international squads, he looks so out of place. PSL he should be a silver not platinum. There's just too much pressure now, and he's struggling.

I think it's another case where we played a batsman way too early. A good PSL and the guy was vaulted to super stardom. I don't think we really should be selecting 20 year old batsmen for call up. There's still plenty of time for them to mature and get used to regularly performing in domestic. I think this is part of the reason why umar also failed, If selected just a few years later, he would have been a bit mature. The fact he was so young and less experienced, meant he was under huge pressure pretty much his entire career.

Babar made his debut at 22, despite the fact that he had way more experience than really any other player at that age. And he was a child prodigy, yet Haider debuted at an earlier age. I think 24 or so is probably more appropriate for most with several good domestic seasons/PSL behind them.
 
haider should look into different profession where he can excel, cricket aint cutting for him

He's not got it in him to play the anchor role.

They'll open with Sharjeel and Vince.

No he doesn't have the skill to rotate strike and be patient he needs to take a few balls and play his normal game.

Much better today Haider along with Sharjeel - should get a good score today.
 
What is the hype around this lad? He’s batting at the same strike rate as Babar? So how’s he an ‘aggressive batsmen’ . Haider just looked a lot more uglier getting to 50 with lots of hits and misses

He's only 22 and has the shots and the attitude to be a top tier modern cricketer.

He is just badly out of form and confidence.

Watch him thrive in the coming years.

His issue has never been his ability to play shots. It’s that he doesn’t know how to build an innings. The result of which is when he resorts to those ugly cross batted hoicks even when well set. He needs somebody to literally break him down and reconstruct his mindset, on how to build an innings. Basically coach him to understand “In x scenario, for x length you play x shot”. That’s why I think a full season spent with Derbyshire is very important for him. InshAllah I hope that he sorts out his issues there.

Won't learn anything in this team..Will probably learn more in one 4 day game with mickey than with these losers
 
Got out the same way as Akmal today. Lol. Guy is a classic goner and learning his trade by using a thick head.

They traded him in the platinum category for Babar

They should have traded Babar for Fakhar only

Or released Babar for the draft
 
haider ali's IQ is on par with a little pebble... he is a lost cause... maybe when he turns 34 he might have a good season and rob a few youngsters of their spots like it usually is the case in Pakistan

They didn’t pick him in the draft!

He was traded for Babar. This indeed was a huuuuge blunder by KK management!

Babar had to go but the player in return had to be a proper platinum player!

Only Fakhar Zaman was a worthy trade. If not, they should have released Babar and taken their chances with a better option in the draft
 
Judge him at the end of the tournament.

One 50 in 3 games is ok for a youngster.

He’s a platinum pick player

Even a player as rubbish as Sahibzada Farhan is better suited at 3 than Haider ‘no Idea’ Ali

Haidet needs time away from the game Get his head cleared and start again from first class cricket

His whole technique and batting thought process is muddled and all over the place

Hes looking more and more out of place on the pitch every game he plays
 
Another wild slog today.

The sort of shot that you would see every day in local village cricket - head up in the clouds, nowhere near the ball.

If this guy is the future of our batting, then we are doomed.

He’s evolved into a nothing cricketer. Perhaps he was never anything special. One good knock early on and the expectations became sky high.
 
He had the audacity to cancel the run of Vince

Clearly playing for himself. That won’t be the first player in this current Pakistan team playing for themselves instead of the team

T20 isn’t his best format he can do better in test cricket and learn to play longer innings once he starts slogging he goes wrong playing proper cricket shots will help develop his game.
 
Averages 18 with the bat in T20Is after 30 innings.

Fifties against Zimbabwe and West Indies each. Tells you how underperforming he is.

Sharjeel isn’t a great fielder but did you see KKs fielding today? What was that??
 
Haider is a slogger, not a batsman. I think we've all come to this realisation that he is not really going to improve his technique and neither is there anyone in the coaching unit that will work with him.
 
What was he doing, single handedly killed KK's chances after the electric start. Another no hoper.
 
Even Pollard in the post match interview said Haider should have sacrificed himself for Vince.
 
Type of player who is a captain killer.

People want him to be given a chance by captains, but he rarely justifies that faith in him.

About time he improved his approach and his performance.
 
His instinct is to slog, but some situations require calculated risks and he doesnt have the intelligence to identify when those calculated risks need to be taken and against whom. The more he thinks about his batting, the worse he gets.

Trading Babar for Haider is arguably the worst trade in PSL history.
 
He is looking more and more like a lost cause every match.
 
Players like this should be told to top domestic charts for 2-3 seasons with plenty of big scores before they get recalled into international cricket
