I don't think he'll play a single game for Pakistan. He's just been taken along for a free holiday and to appease certain powerful "supporters" of his.
 
Wow! Azam Khan has done decently well at 5/6 position, where Pakistan has struggled to find a power hitter. If not Azam Khan, than who?
He can get fit staying with the team. Be patient.

No, not Sohaib Mansoor plays top order
Malik doesn’t want to below top 4

BE PATIENT with new batsmen finding their feet. They will learn but most batsmen need time to develop.
 
Not only standard of cricket has gone down in Pakistan but also standard of the followers of the game ( knowledge wise) has hit rock bottom. No wonder you still see some people supporting Azam Khan, unless they're joking and I did't get it.

I genuinely don't get it either. Some posters genuinely believe that he can come good in international cricket!?!@?!?!

I'd be surprised if he EVER crosses 10 runs in an international game that isn't against Zimbabwe.

At this point I don't care who wins the PSL. My team has always been Islamabad but I honestly can't support them in good conscience if their success is predicated on the likes of Asif Ali and Husain Talat doing well.

If Azam Khan, Asif Ali, Sharjeel Khan and Sarfraz fail enough times in the remaining games, I'll be a happy man. That's all I can possibly hope for. Their careers need to end because they are only going to be a detriment to the national team.

In his last 8 T20IS he has only scored higher than 17 two times. Before that his good innings were only 2 or 3 out of 9 games. A player who only comes good 20 percent of the time is going to be the answer to our troubles.

I'm wondering, are people like you this deluded? Or just on a windup? I can't fathom it.

Also not sure what you mean by T20I because the guy hasn’t even played a single international game. I think you mean T20s

Can you help this “deluded” person find any Pakistani batsman who has an average of 25 and SR of 150 in T20s at the 5/6 slot.

Please name the Pak player, don’t beat around the bush.

They all look good playing domestic cricket. Then fail at the international level. I would still stick with malik or hafeez at those spots. Have you seen the guy in the field? I’m sorry, he is a massive massive liability.

His 25 average is because he does well in 2 games and fails in the rest. Look at all his PSL seasons and stop winding people up.

You might be okay with someone with a good game rate of 20%, which is why you fall in the deluded category of fans.
 
I would suggest, not to get yourself involved in any discussion with uneducated ( cricket wise ) fans, and I don't think Azam Khan deserves a serious discussion on him .

An average of 25 is nothing to boast about. Both Asif Ali and Khushdhil Shah average higher than him in T20s and yet we have seen them fail so badly in internationals

Their is no legitimate reason Azam should be selected. He is yet to show consistency in his batting, he is extremely unfit and will most likely end up being a liability in the field.

Encouraging and supporting M Wasim's decision to select Azam as a supporter of PCT really confuses me though. Do you want to continue to justify the nepotism which has plagued our team for decades and decades?

Saw Faf supporting young Azam and saying cricketers all don't need to have the same physique.

Someone should have asked him if he would have selected someone of Azams shape when he was proteas captain.
 
The ironic thing is I follow this guy on Instagram during the last 4 months he was in gym a lot and stating his lost serious amounts of weight and he looked slightly slimmer in the posts, however when you see him in the Quetta shirt he still looks as fat as ever. Unless his editing his photos and fooling us all 😂😂

I am yet to be convinced that this lad is international quality.

He has been a given a lot of chances, probably more chances than he deserves. Many other players would envy the opportunities he has been given.
 
We must hold players to a higher standard and not get excited over random 20s and 30s. Needs to work on his fitness and weight even more as well

As per Mohammad Waseem Pakistan needs a "heavy" hitter in middle order.

It seems like Pakistan just cannot produce proper batsmen. Our selectors keep giving chances to sloggers instead of proper batsmen like Iftikhar.

Cant believe in 2021 we're still left with Iftikhar Ahmed and Shoaib Malik as our only middle order options. The rest of them all flopped.

Sad state of affairs.
 
Now even non Pakistanis like me have memorized these lines. Everyone knows but no one can do anything. What’s going on really?

Nothing player just a waste of time.

It really does however show how drained of talent we are when people hype up an overweight, underserving cricketer who has played 0 innings of substance but has however hit "elegant" sixes.
 
His selection is purely on connections, didn't play first class, overweight and straight from his dad academy to t 20 league.
But guess what short cuts always bite back..
He will be kicked out sooner than later ..
 
If we can begrudge and bash Imam ul Haq for being selected, I really don’t see how Azam can be beyond reproach.

"At number 5 and 6 positions, we have given chances to almost all available batsmen in Pakistan but none of them have been able to perform in a satisfactory manner; Given that we need someone who can score at sr of 150-160, we have picked up Azam Khan; At this position, we cannot expect the player to hit 50-60 in every game; Instead if he can win 2 games from 5 at this position - so we pick players on that ability and Asif, Haider, Khushdil have all been tried for that reason"
 
He is clearly not ready, he just slogs blindly. If they wanted a hitter at 6 then Danish or Maqsood were way better options. I know Maqsood bats in the top order but there is no reason why he couldn’t have carried his form to the middle order as well.

Just 174 runs in 10 innings.

Average of 17.40 and not a single 50.
 
Interesting question I was asked today by an English friend of mine who doesn't watch much cricket.

Would Azam Khan play every match in PSL6 if he wasn't the head coach's son?

Don't know how you can justify his selection based on such a poor season.

Even his SR is disappointing for a batsman who is regarded as a "hitter"

The answer is clearly no. In my opinion even Imam Ul-Haq and Usman Qadir would not be in the national team if their last names were different.
 
The biggest injustice ever is the selection of Azam ahead of Sohaib.

Sohaib could easily bat at no.5 with the same impact and is a gun player!

Imam ul haq was the highest run scorer among openers in the FC season before he was picked

He was picked for ODIs though wasn’t he? I am pretty sure Shan Masood/Manzoor all had superior List A stats than him but he leapfrogged them both when his uncle became selector.

Imam’s case isn’t as glaring as Azam Khan’s but I still think Imam would not have debuted as early as he did if his uncle was not the selector.

Win 2 games from 5? This is the level of filth that's coming out of our head coach. Still stuck in cuckoo land looking for fairy tale match winners. If one player is going to win you matches then the other 10 shouldn't be playing by that logic. What sort of nonsense is Misbah up to? The amount of pressure you put on any youngster by stating they should win games on their own is criminal. It's a borderline psycho mafia from a sporting perspective.

There's no hope for Pakistan cricket until our management gets education on how the modern game is played. And what indicators to target in formulating a squad.

174 runs in 10 innings.
 
Said this a while ago when he left the ODI domestic cup to go play t10 league.

Showed everything that was needed about his commitment and drive. And summed up why he will never be an international player.

Even someone like Shan Masood with a distinct lack of talent, has forced himself into contention many times through his work ethic. If the Azam had 10% of that he would be in the team for all formats.
 
Unable to fathom as to why people are still excited by 20s and 30s with a solitary fifty in 2 seasons but for other players, they need to average over 50 with a SR of 140 to be considered good.
 
A poor mans Asif Ali - never thought i would use this phrase but here we are

Unfit, unable to field and somehow is a worse striker off the ball than most of our previous late order batsmen (Asif, Iftikhar, Danish).
 
Is an Azam Khan debut a possibility in the 1st T20I vs England?
 
I think he will play the t20s if rizwan is injured then azam should take the gloves.

In the tent over there were two balls that he could have stopped at the boundary, The first one he let hasnain go for it who fumbled and it went for four, The second one was literally less than five six yards away from him and he couldn't even get to it and that also went for four.

Imagine being a batsman in 2021 and your team hiding you in the field. You have had 10 years to get into the minimum required shape that an international cricketer has to be in.

Was average in the field as well.
Although hit a 2 or 3 sixes that went really big.

He still looks the same he did 2 years ago, I don't believe he's lost 35kgs. 3.5kgs maybe.
