I hate the sight of someone so overweight playing professional cricket, but he is a very clean hitter. That 3rd sweep six off Hasnain was an incredible shot
Big slap on misbah’s fitness theory, what a player! He doesn’t even have to lose weight
It was a privilege to watch this innings from Azam Khan.
Rizwbab's cheerleaders won't like this but he's just made Rizwan's hundred (from earlier this week) and Babar's hundred against South Africa look mediocre.
Gutted he missed on a well deserved century, it was all clean hitting, that flick of the wrists 6 off Hasnain in particular was a thing of beauty.
not really. He played well, but his poor fitness is still not justified.
ok lets not go over the top here.
You dont need to insult another Pakistani player to support him.
Babar's hundred was against an international team on a proper wicket with good bowlers.
Azam Khan still has his issues. Today Quetta tried to target his weakness by bowling pace and short. Issue was the bounce on this wicket was low, the ball was slowing down and not getting the elevation needed. Azam took great advantage of this and smoked quetta.
However, when he faced Ihsanullah on that Multan pitch where the bounce was high, the guy was clueless against him.
This is just like how Hafeez would struggle against Steyn in SA but score runs in Pakistan.
Azam played great today, but no need to insult other Pakistani players, and also accept that Azam still has issues with his own fitness and with facing pace bowling on a wicket with proper bounce

How am I insulting Babar or Rizwan? Their hundreds pale in comparison to Azam Khan's 97.
Are you being serious about the South Africa bowlers that Babar faced? Barring Shamsi, they were awful. It was South Africa C or D grade attack. Azam Khan faced far superior bowling attack which includes Naseem Shah, Hasnanin and Nawaz. Two of these names are Pakistan's first string bowling attack.
If you've been watching PSL closely, you'd find that almost every player (even the top tier overseas picks) have struggled and been beaten by his pace. Ihsanullah looks unstoppable with his pace and steep bounce.
But I do agree with you about his fitness issues. If he wants to play for Pakistan, he'll need to lose some weight and improve his fitness.
why do you even compare them. Azam will pull this off every now and then. You need players like him scattered between others who play risk free cricket.
Babar needs to strike at 135 while being risk free, right now he is too slow but I feel he can up it. Same goes with Rizwan.
When you have a very deep batting line up with multiple talented hitters like ISB you can get rid of Rizwan and Babar. But right now you have the likes of Asif Ali, Ifti, Nawaz so they have a space.

Sorry what do you mean by proper wicket? T20 wickets have always suited batsmen. One could argue it's easier to bat in South Africa because of the altitude and small boundaries.

Azam looks uneasy against pace when the bounce is high on a proper wicket. The guy gets a bit fearful. That kind of bowling you wont see in psl but will see in international cricket.
You cant compare innings with other pakistani players thats insulting. I would not even say that Babars 100 was better because all these guys are Pakistai players
MajorThis is where I'm gonna use facts to turn your argument into shreds.
Batting against Naseem Shah and Hasnain on a slow wicket is far more challenging than the pace bowlers Babar faced against South Africa for his hundred:
Beauren Hendricks (T20I ER of over 9)
Lizaad Williams (T20I ER of almost 9)
Sisanda Magaala (T20I ER of almost 10)
The main takeaway from this is - scoring hundred against these pacers (even if it was on the fastest wicket in the world) is far easier than scoring 97 against Naseem Shan and Husnain on a sluggish wicket.

It doesn't matter how much bounce and pace a wicket has if the bowlers are giving you boundary balls to hit.
There's no way Babar's hundred against Hendrick, Williams and Magaala is anywhere near as good as Azam Khan's 97.
This is coming from someone who doesn't want Azam Khan to play for Pakistan until he loses weight and proves fitness + continues this form with the bat.
bounce on wicket matters alot. It can be the difference in the game.

Generally speaking I agree but Babar faced a substandard bowling attack. Those paces have an average economy of 9, so it won't make any difference where they bowl.
Seriously, I would back even Misbah to score a ton against those bowlers.
Today you got bounce billo with your express pace comment
bro, why are you comparing babar here? Babar is gonna play for Pakistan no matter what and will end up in the hall of fames.
Issue is Azam's weakness against bouncy pace.
Sounds like a variety of milkshakes
I'm not comparing Babar the player, I'm comparing his innings with the one played by Azam Khan today.
You seem to have a difficult time to accept when you're wrong. This also happened when you made that that SKY which backfired spectacularly.
You claimed Babar faced "good bowlers". I've given you the economy rates of all the pace bowlers he faced to prove why you're wrong. But you continue to conveniently ignore this point.
That's the bowling attack Babar faced for his hundred but Major claims he faced "good bowlers".
Azam Khan's innings of 97(42) - I don't think we will see a better innings than this during PSL 8

Sipamla has improved since but they were terrible bowlers
South Africa were developing their c string bowlers against Pakistan’s premier batsman
And when the real Gs turned up at Sydney, we all saw that 6 off 16 balls
This and Guptil’s innings is 2 of my top 3
1. Sharjeel ton v PZ
2. Azam 97
3. Guptil 116
bro, you wana insult babar be my guest, but im not indulging in such a discussion, you cant compare two innings that to of players of the same country. Every innings has its own value.
What was Babar suppose to do agiasnt SOuth Africa, score 200?

ON good T20 batting tracks he can be handy. This format doesn't really need superlative fitness except when you field. You just have to stand and swing. Chris Gayle for all his six pack was a poor runner between the wickets.
Azam Brook
I will not take this fluke on a flat pitch against ordinary bowlers very seriously.
Could he be drafted into our Test side?
Naseem Shah and Nawaz represent Pakistan. Hasnain has been with the squad for years now, he has also been the best pace bowler in the tournament up to now
Could he be drafted into our Test side?
Could he be drafted into our Test side?
He’s a very wristy batsman. It explains why he has a brilliant strike rate against spin.
The guy isn’t a hack, proper batsman this lad
Not international class, will be found out and exposed horribly. Clean hitter but not good enough when facing a proper international class bowling line-up.
Watch him play Ihsanullah. The likes of Starc, Cummins, Wood etc will not let him score these easy runs.Oh right
How do we know that? Through a fortune telling crystal ball?
Plenty of humble pies for all the haters who were making fun of his weight and also calling him perchi.
Great inning vs one of the best bowling attack in PSL.
Azam is the ideal no 6 we need in limited overs cricket. We gave plenty of chances to the likes of Faheem, Kushdil, Haider, Agha and Nawaz but now is the time we give him a chance as well. I’m sure he can play a pivotal role in coming WC in India.
Watch him play Ihsanullah. The likes of Starc, Cummins, Wood etc will not let him score these easy runs.
Will struggle against the short ball.
Don’t think he’s a 50 over keeper
It’s the way he was falling away from the line of the ball. Top international bowlers will ruthlessly expose this weakness.Who’s done well against Ihsanullah so far?
Yet again, because he’s fat? What’s your judgment based on?

He will struggle on Asian tracks, forget about playing him in Australia or South Africa.

Naseem was alright. So you are rating Ihsanullah over the likes of Naseem Shah and Hasnian? Wooo there, the logic is mind boggling![]()
RVD got over-confident and lost his stumps to a length delivery. Can happen. RVD was bowled by Hasnain. Munro cleaned up by a 16 year old
Azam will take Ihsanullah down in this tournament
Naseem was alright.
Hasnain is bang average and is only regressing. His main asset was speed, and he is operating between 130-135 KPH majority of the time.
Ihsanullah has out-bowled every pacer so far, no question about that.
