Bro, India could not even manage one wicket. It is one thing to say dew was an advantage - I can agree it helped a bit but a 10 wicket thrashing? Come on now, you are better than that. Chakravartha was supposed to be the mystery spinner even then and got smashed. In a T20 how many more balls can one batter face against a bowler?

Chakri actually won an ICC trophy.

The thing pakistan fans have this weird thinking they totally "destroyed" varun C in that match. They didn't as a matter of fact lol He went for 7 an over in that innings. That is not terrible for a debutant.

O bhaee you can think whatever you want, I have a BD fan trying to get my attention desperately and Rishwat thinks I am part of some Pak mafia. What is 22/0? The point is chakravartha was supposed to be unleashed as a mystery spinner like Mendis and was embarrassingly ineffective in that T20 WC especially vs us. You can argue on semantics of smashed I don't care.

If it was a random group stage match why do you care about India vs Pak WC record? They are mostly group stage matches and by your definition useless? Owned again Sayon Basak :)

At the end of the day Varun C is still with Indian T20 team. Babar Azam and Rizwan were brutally kicked out. Imagine not being able to find a place in a pakistan team which already doesn't have bench strength ;)

I only care about the ones where we kicked Pakistan out and won like 07, 11 and 24. I don't really care about 12, 14, 16 etc etc

Varun Chakravarthy back to form again in IPL as he and Moeen run havoc against RR with figures of 2/15 so far.

There was an article that pointed out batsmen are swinging by staying deep in the crease.as varun never turns the ball much, they are happy to take the calculated risk with rewards.
 
There is nothing wrong with him. His action looks pretty clean, unlike Axar. He was also great in Champions Trophy, eventhough pitches there were helpful to spinners.

Varun is having a horrendous tournament overall. Sunny was saying yesterday that he starts bowling medium pace if he gets hit off his first 1-2 deliveries.

Very ordinary bowling by him in this WC.

Like for like comparison, I'll always pick Kuldeep over Varun in any form of the game anytime.

Both are atrocious bats and less than average fielders with Kuldeep being slightly better package overall in terms of batting + fielding.

I think Gambhir & co have been blinded by his no.1 rank in T20 rankings.

Am comparing kiwis capabilities against varun and Kuldeep.i agree that Varun is horrible in this wc. Problem is that Kuldeep was even more horrible in the odi /t20 series against kiwis.Thwy slaughtered him .He is not in any rhythm or confidence. So i think the least of the garbage should play.Even if washi plays instead of that guy, its fine.but we dont have any solid options now

This issue shows india not to rely on one good candidate always but to have an array of 3 or 4 equally good ones.If the wickets is tacky, varun can rule the roost.otherwise we don't know kiwis capability against him.
 
Varun has under-performed so far... I was expecting him to bowl better than others.
 
Varun is bowling way too short. He isn't bowling full which got him all those wickets. Need to bowl full to get back amongst wickets.
 
Its a very questionable tactics by Gambhir & co not to give Kuldeep any match practice for more than a fortnight now. They've preferred to put all their apples in one basket.

What if he needs to replace Varun in the final?

It's too late now to get Kuldeep in.

If pitch turns, only then Kuldeep will replace Arshdeep or else no chance.

Varun needs to bowl full.
 
He will not be dropped

Still he is highest wicket taker for India

But needs to bowl better in final

Varun won't last long. Firstly, age is not on his side. Then, he hardly ever turns the ball. His accuracy is his biggest USP. If its not there, he is an ordinary cricketer as was proved in super 8s and knock out games of this T20 WC

Ravi Bishnoi is a good replacement , he is also a great fielder and can score runs.
