He is doing very well even in test cricket. If he continues like that he might get the chance to be the number one batman in all three formats. That will be a special achievement.
Has any other batsman achieved this feat? If he does become a number 1 batsman in tests also, lots of fans will start calling tests 'meaningless' too.![]()
Root's phenominal run of late has put a big gap between him and no2-3-4
Its
Root-923
Marnus-885
Smith-848
Babar - 815 (Before this test match. with more than 150 in 2 innings he shld gain 20odd points so 835)
so in short, 885 could have been challanged with superb 2nd test, maybe a 200 in there and few 0z by Marnus.. but the 923 gap is a bit too big AT THE MIN
he can def make it to the top... a lovely sight.
maybe we can see a day in near future with No1 & No2 in all 3 formats from Pakistan.. who knows
He will never be a match winner. His power game doesn't exist at all. His performances were good against SA and Eng when they fielded their third string teams. He always does well against teams like west indies, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh that's it.
Having scored a whopping number of "1" Overseas century in the main farmat of the game anyone with a brain wouldn't call him the best all format batsman.
Reading through some of the posts here - the casualness with which some posters dismiss Sachin and Kohli)
You people don't realize how hard you make it for Indians who respect Babar to still enjoy him after reading those ridiculous posts.
I wish Pakistan gets than 4-5 more kings of Babar's capabilities ðŸ¤*Bradman, Sachin,Vivian, virat all are inferior comapered to babar honestly.Hello hatter.
Try to hate less!
Babar is here to stay! These T20 performances were bad, but they won't change the fact that he is the king of batting these days.
Yes, very good example.Babar Azam in T20s and ODI is like Hashim Amla. A terrific run accumulator but lacking that 5th gear. Will have amazing stats but will never be called a match winner in white ball formats !
A very good example from the past is Desmond Haynes. He scored 17 ODI centuries - far more than Viv Richards or Gordon Greenridge but was never highly rated

Their poor batting culture is the reason their fans overhype every decent batsman they have produced till date.
Same can be said about your bowling culture hence why when you have 1 decent bowler bumrah you overhype him.

most used to get thrashed around the park all day long. And we openly acknowledge that. We are the first ones to poke fun and laugh at the horrible bowlers we have produced in the past.
Awesome player. Hope he recovers his form.
It's just one series. You can't say he has lost his form based on that.
They were definitely hoping for that to happen.
The so called best batter in all formats can play quality spin(Rashid) can't play quality left arm spin & can't play express pace and Pakistani compared him with peak Kohli.
Mark Wood embarrassed Babar today and made him look like a tail ender against some real pacy bouncers.
You can't be considered a world class batsman if you look like a tail ender against such bowling.
Can't associate world class tag with him. Still a lot to prove.
Rashid Khan and Adil Rashid have been owning him too
Utterly clueless against Mark Wood.
Not to forget, He is the only batsman in the world that has 2 T20I hundreds in 200+ run chase. That too in a winning cause. Wake me up when Kohli does that.
Against some club level attacks? Wake me up when he wins two back to back man of the tournament in world cups!
Though he is decent enough to open but too selfish to worry about his team otherwise he would have demoted himself down the order and do what he does best!
He has played just one world cup and was excellent in it. Unanimously in the team of the tournament for someone who lost in the semi final is very good.Against some club level attacks? Wake me up when he wins two back to back man of the tournament in world cups!

He will be back to form and score massively when teams rest their main bowlers.
Lol.. talking about tests and comparing with kohli is hilarious. He already was top scorer of last WC and awards? You will seriously judge a batsman on the basis of some biased awards? LOL
Let's not talk about the quality of the bowlers because we all know how Virat scored his only T20 ton. Not to forget bowlers of his double centuries in tests too. Lol.
I am finding too many kohlisons these days.

Grand total of Babar's OS hundred = 1.
Kohli at age of 26 had 6 test tons in Australia against top quality Aussie pace attack.
The greatest limited overs batsmen in the world - of that there is very little doubt.
In terms of ranking a player overall I give 50% importance to Test cricket, 25% to ODI, 25% to T20. To truly cement himself as the best all around batsmen in the world, he needs to continue producing some great Test performances. The talent and ability is there, but belonging to upper echelon of Test batsmen involves scoring massive scores.
Amazing Babar
