Laid out Simmons and now captured Gayle's wicket. What a start to the lad's career.
Finishes with 2 overs for 20.
In the circumstances, that's not a bad effort on debut.
Hope he gets a run of games as 3rd seamer but he's incredibly raw so a lot is going to have to go right from here.
I'm not sure why we're constantly picking fast bowlers before they've had a few seasons of domestic under their belt. Why are we against players becoming confident and experienced before playing international cricket?
The list of failures is high and almost no successes from this approach.

Guys he is alleounder not pacer, his real capabilities lie in batting as he is best hitter and improviser in Pakistan as far as i have seen his lap and ramp shorts have 100% accuracy i haven't seen him missing those and hitting ability is also extraordinary.

I am impressed specially if he can bat as well.
I am so so annoyed he didnt play against England.
It seems like he is a better batsman than Hassan Ali? I will be happy if thats the case.He is a joke of a batsmen. He only knows how to hit a ramp shot which is just a gamble.
As of now i only comsider him as a bowler
As a batsman he is a 9,a bit like Hasan Ali.

That works for me tbh

Waseem looks to be a pretty good slogger too. His technique maybe better overall than Hasan Ali.Better batter yes but not a better hitter
He looks much better than Naseem and Musa.
Showing variations.

Have you seen him in the Pakistan Cup? He is a massive striker of the ball. Razzaq has worked a lot on his hitting technique.
The key to his hitting is the high bat speed. He played those ramp shots to tackle variations of the bowlers.
Every batsmen looked like Viv Richards in the Pakistan cup though, and none of the successes there managed to continue at international level.
I wonder if they'd risk him ahead of Rauf in the T20 World Cup?

Brutal bouncer to Simmons and he is off the field - impressive pace
"Mohammad Wasim Jr to Simmons, no run, Mohammad Wasim has knocked down Simmons with a 142kph bumper! Short and angled in, Simmons backs away to pull and is beaten for pace. Missed the top edge hit his neck on the right side"
Right from zakir Khan, Mo Wasim Misbah and Waqar every one to be axedWhat will it take not to have Azam Khan in the playing eleven. No performance in PSl, nothing in England tour but still in playing eleven, shameful.
I would be happy with that as long as he can bowl. His action worries me because slingy bowlers rarely succeed because it tilts the seam to a saucer release. Lets hope he becomes a solid international cricketer.
Well sometimes slingy actions can work out, like they did for Bumra and Malinga the Slinga.
I agree that it's early days though, but I was quite impressed by his control. If he can concentrate on that and continue to bowl at high speed, then that alone will make him a decent L/O bowler. I'll reserve judgement on his batting for now, from what I saw in the PSL, he's a bowler who can hit the odd big shot rather than an all rounder.
Liked his performance...good pace and slingy action means its often difficult for batsmen to pick the line.
Looked confident in his first game. Was setting his own field and wasnt just going through the motions.
Bumrah is anything but a slingy bowler.

Slingy actions can work but the ones that work are the exceptions and not the norm. The most successful actions remain the ones that come over the top.

Wasim has been hit for 16 runs in this over and it’s easy to jump on the bandwagon to criticise a bowler when they go for so many runs - but I don’t think he bowled as badly as the figures show , Pooran played a couple of good shots , and Wasim also bowled a couple of near beauties.
The funniest moment was Shaheen Afridi coming along to give advice when Wasim Jr got surrounded by about 5 team mates advising him how to bowl.
Not to forget Shaheen Afridi gets whacked for 15 runs an over on a regular basis himself and usually bowling total garbage when it happens.
Fell to pieces under pressure but it's early days
Shaheen Shah, Hassan Ali, and even legends like Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz have all had days where they’ve been smacked around with 15-20 run big overs - Hasan even gave a glimpse or two today - so Wasim is still a nobody in comparison. , but I don’t think he bowled as badly as the rubbish these other superstars often do when they go for same amount of runs.
There is definite potential in Wasim and also the way he came back with a fast yorker (even though it was wide) had shades of the old attacking 90s style of Pakistani fast bowling.
The lad has potential.
Days like today will only improve him as a cricketer and I am sure he will come back better for the experience.
I hope they play him in all of the remaining T20Is in this series.
He needs to be given a long rope and allowed to play and Dahani also needs to be introduced quickly.
If you are wanting intelligence then I actually think Arshad Iqbal and Mohammed Imran have shown more as bowlers during the last couple of PSL seasons, but Wasim is apparently in the team as an all rounder.
All things considered, for an all rounder I think Wasim has shown some bite. Not sure he's ready for world cups I admit, but I think we should probably have introduced a few others before Rauf in the last year, probably too late now.
