Last international match at the Home of cricket

Doesn't mean he won't play an international match somewhere else :afridi

And so his intl career ends (once again!) as he out for 11.

How many "last" matches is he going to have :danish

So, his main purpose to play this match despite not being fully fit was to get the limelight and proper farewell at the home of cricket. I hope he is a happy man now!

Balls faced 12.

Thats more than his career average of balls faced per match.

Notice the Indian fans at the end - none of them had the decency to give him a standing ovation or at least a clap in his last international game. Disgraceful.

Here's a few quotes from Shahid Afridi after the match:

"If any country is struggling with things like education and health, we are ambassadors for our countries and we should help and support each other through sports"

"I'm very very lucky my Allah gave me an opportunity that I finished my international career at The Home of Cricket so I'm very lucky and I want to thank Andy Flower, the ECB management to give me that opportunity"

"I've been struggling for the last 2 months with my knee but I'm here for this great noble cause. If you don't hold a bat or ball for 2 months then it feels very strange. But I'm only here for this cause."

"I think Sarfaraz Ahmed is really leading the team well and all the youngsters did really well and that's what I am expecting also in the next match"

Shahid Afridi has announced that the Shahid Afridi Foundation is donating $20,000 to the Hurricane Relief Fund

Seeing some extremely pathetic and garbage posts in this thread regarding Afridi taking part in this match, you do realise the whole point of it don't you

Pakistan did not give enough respect to Afridi

So does this mean that this was the last international match for Luke Ronchi as well?

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Thank you ICC for providing me the opportunity of contributing to <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/CricketRelief?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#CricketRelief</a> cause. It was a real honour for me and a memory I'll cherish for long. On behalf of my Foundation I'm making a donation 20000$ for the Hurricane victims in Caribbean. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/HopeNotOut?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#HopeNotOut</a></p>— Shahid Afridi (@SAfridiOfficial) <a href="https://twitter.com/SAfridiOfficial/status/1002307576648949764?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 31, 2018</a></blockquote>

I suggest you watch some clips from the cwc 2015. It seemed he was there on holidays. No effort at all. Then came the T20 asia cup and the T20 world cup.

Since he left PAK cricket we only went up.

Had he retired around 2013 it would have been much better!

Some memorable performances over the years from Afridi.

Still, probably fitting he lost another game as captain. Was a terrible captain.
