His strike rate really stands out, especially on these dead tracks. It shows he’s an aggressive bowler.
 
There were a few decisions that went against Naseem. Probably a few bruised batsmen in the Balochistan team.
 
The single most exciting prospect for Pakistan cricket.

But so much can go wrong with him. PCB please wrap him in cotton wool and manage him smartly for the next few years while he’s developing. Like shaheen was managed by Arthur over the past 18 months.

Our fast bowling has been poor over the past decade but the thought of Nasim, Shaheen and Hasnain bowling together in 3 years time is unreal. With Musa and Rauf as backup pacers, and Amir, Shinwari and possibly Hassan there to provide some experience / depth.

I also don’t get what the obsession with taking a 17 year old kid to Australia is. The pitches, while offering bounce, will be incredibly flat. The risk at his age is far greater than the return.

I know it’s an important series for the world test championship but he shouldn’t be rushed. Amir never really recovered from the last test series in Australia where he was bowled into the ground.

That is also a factor. Along with the known fact that he’s a few years older than his official age so already early 30s.

The good thing about Waqar Younis being bowling coach is that he will know about how to manage a fast bowler and know the risk of injury all too well. He probably won't want Naseem or Hasnain going through the same injuries he did himself.
 
Finally seeing Pakistan bowler making players hop around!

I think if I was the Pakistan think tank I would let play domestic for now, but if he keeps taking wickets maybe try him in the rest matches against Sri Lanka
 
Waqar said on PCB podcast that you need pace to succeed in australia and for that reason he would like to take one or two of these young promising pacers to Australia. He didn’t name them but he mentioned being very impressed with Nasim shah a few times so he’s definitely one of them.

Waqar also said that final decision will be up to them (team leadership) whether these youngster are played or not but he would still like them to go with the team to gain experience.

I think that Misbah should take a chance on Nasim. It’s generally not a good idea to try a young inexperienced guy in tests but we don’t really have a choice. We are not feeling confident with any of our bowler apart from Abbas and Shaheen and even they might fail.

Hasan Ali is in poor form and low on confidence and australia is not a place where a bowler regains his confidence. He still has problem maintaining a tight line and length and his average pace is slower than Nasim. I see no reason why Hasan Ali will be more effective than Nasim in those conditions. Even Faheem Ashraf bowled better than hasan in south africa.

Nasim can swing and seam at pace and has a reasonably good control on his line and length (his biggest advantage over hasnain and Rauf right now). His bowling in these domestic matches should not be ignored. If he extracts this much pace and bounce on these dull pitches, he’ll only do better in Australia. Plus, he’ll go there with a fresh optimistic mind and may even benefit from australia’s unfamiliarity with him.
 
I’m all for bringing Naseem Shah here (Australia) but the standout figures actually belong to Ehsan Adil, who is perfect for Australian conditions - as proved by his Under-19 success in South Africa.
 
Feel sorry for him and some of the talented young players. Under Misbah these players will waste 4 valuable years of their cricket career.

They 2 are completely different bowlers, Ehsan Adil's performances shouldn't effect Naseem Shah's selection, we need a Naseem Shah type bowler in Australia. Both have gotten the same amount of wickets, Naseem at a better rate and Adil at a better average.

To be honest, Ehsan Adil would probably do better than Abbas in Australia, Abbas hasn't done anything this QeA and in SA, so he will probably fail in Australia as well where the conditions are evn worse for him. Ehsan also merits selection more than Abbas at this stage. So both Naseem and Ehsan Adil should probably go to Aus, Ehsan Adil also adds a bit of batting depth.

I’d take:

Shaheen Shah Afridi
Naseem Shah
Ehsan Adil
Mohammad Amir (I’d grovel)
Mohammad Abbas
Faheem Ashraf

I’d also take Sameen Gul.

More likely it will be Rahat, Gul/Sami, Abbas, junaid, Ehsan. Misbah will never promote younger players even if we play C team of Nigeria.

Faheem in tests isn't too bad, he just needs to know when to leave the ball and learn to duck. But please keep him away from the LOI teams.

I don't see Amir doing well in Australia especially this new Amir we are seeing that bowls 4 off cutters an over and can barely get over 140. Shaheen can do his job much better.

Sameen Gul would be a good pick as he has a tall action, nips the ball around and has decent pace.

Personally I think thst Abbas would be a massive failure in Australia. The bowling attack in the playing XI should be: Shaheen, Naseem, Faheem, Ehsan/Sameen. WIth Shadab or maybe Zafar Gohar as the spinner and Haris can get through a few overs.
 
Some of our best ever have been made to look pretty average in Aus, so these lot will get whacked. I dont see the value in taking Naseem to Aus unless you are willing to write off the series. We need Abbas for control( although he wont be effective as a wicket taker), Afridi for his height and i would take a punt Hasnain for his pure pace, although its doubtful that Smith and co would lose any sleep over him. Which ever way we look at it, this tour is too early by a yr or 2 for the young pacers.
 
I don't see him getting selected for another 10 years when he is 27 looking at Misbah's squad and team selections at the moment.

Pakistan has gave Misbah so much but looks like he is on is way to destroy our cricket. Since Misbah has all the back up he will easily be in Pakistan set up more at least 7-8 years for sure. By than our cricket will be totally destroyed.
 
Forget about Naseem Shah. The big question should be are Imam/Babar/Afridi/Hasnain are safe in Misbah's hand since he has so much hatred against young players?
 
Excited about this lad.

He has all the ingredients to be an excellent bowler.

Waqar Younis is monitoring his progress very closely, so who knows, maybe a call-up sooner than we think.

Remember Misbah is the head coach and chief selector. He can take S Tanvir over Naseem Shah

These guys will do no worse than some of greats that have gone to Aus and got smashed. I always think that its a mental thing with our team and Aus.

Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders! Hopefully he can stay grounded and perform on the international stage for a long time. Making your mark in an away series is hard enough but its even harder to perform consistently for a long time.
 
Naseem Shah's action reminds me a little bit of Darren Gough when he is in his delivery stride

Even if he doesn’t do well in Australia, he has to be selected for the Sri Lanka series. We need a bowler like him in Pakistan/UAE.
 
3/33 in his 2nd inning. Match figures of 9/111. Got the wickets of Abid Ali, Fawad Alam and Sarfaraz Ahmed in the 2nd Inning. Almost won it for CP, just needed 2 more wickets. Match ends in a draw after Sarfaraz's 50.

I've not been this excited about a young Pakistani fast bowler since the ultimately disappointing Mohammad Sami burst on the scene. Has all the ingredients...please look after him!

Yeah there's definitely a chance, seen so many good ones over the years and you look back after a decade or so and wonder where did it all go wrong. Let's hope for the best.

This would be a nice way to annoy the Aussies if he gets wickets.
 
Fawad is a Domestic legend so it makes sense for Naseem to pay respect to him.

The only common thing is both are right arm pacers and as Xoib has mentioned both are Pakistanis. Otherwise height, physique, action and skills nothing is similar.

How is that an Indian action. Putting your hands together like that is for apologising in Pakistan. He was apologising not gretting and saying Namaste.
