We also need 2 good spin bowlers.
We will be a decent team!!!

what abt Fahad Munir.... decent bat... leg spinning all rounder? ..

Pak 341-8.

No idea how weak or strong SA are but good to see the young guns performing.

The most promising thing about the team is that players are performing that our current national team are heavily lacking.

Opener - Haider Ali
Wicketkeeper that can bat - Rohail Nazir
Late Hitter - Haris Khan and Abbas Afridi
Right arm pace bowler - Naseem Shah

Impressive batting performance from Pak U19 again. Abbas Afridi looks a good all rounder who can hit the ball and Haider Ali has been exceptional in every game as well.

Seems like naseem is troubling sa batsmen with sheer pace and speed with very good short pitch delivery

Naseem Shah to Ntanzi, OUT, short ball, Ntanzi tries to get out of the way, catches the shoulder of the bat and loops up to the keeper for an easy catch

Naseem Shah to Cotani, OUT, a ripper of a yorker and middle stump is rattled

Naseem Shah to Louw, OUT, short ball, attempted hook, thuds into the gloves and the keeper moves smartly to his left for an easy catch

Focus on his performance and not age. Let those in charge worry about the age.

Well bowled aamir.

Rohail Nazir could be the end of Sarfraz Ahmed. A massive talent.

Will get a lot of chances in the upcoming PSL from Islamabad United.

Haider Ali, Rohail Nazir, Naseem Shah, Abbas Afridi and Fahad Munir look like future Pak players. Get them to play more List A, FC and PSL cricket.

They seem to be pretty clinical. Wasim Khan needs to focus on their development

Pakistan take unassailable series lead against SA U19s

Sunday, 30 June 2019

Pakistan claimed an 88-run victory in the fourth Youth One-Day International (ODI) against the Coca-Cola South Africa under-19s despite half-centuries from Ruan Terblanche and Jonathan Bird in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

The touring side took an unassailable four-nil lead in the seven-match series following four wins on the bounce.

The sub-continent outfit posted a commanding 341/8 in batting-friendly conditions, with Rohail Nazir top-scoring with 89 off 91 balls (11 fours) before Bird (75 off 75 balls, 10 fours, 2 sixes) and Terblanche (53 off 65 balls, 7 fours) contributed in vain, towards South Africa’s reply of 253 all out in 43.3 overs.

Naseem Shah (4/52) and Aamir Ali (4/44) were the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan en route to victory.

After winning the toss and electing to set a score, Pakistan got off to another flyer with the bat. The opener, Haider Ali, smashed a quick-fire 59 off 41 deliveries (12 fours) in two half-century partnerships with Fahad Munir (56) and Nazir. After Ali was dismissed, Nazir took on the run-scoring mantle alongside Haris Khan (62), with the pair both reaching their half-tons.

Although the home side fought back during the last ten overs, thanks in main to crucial wickets from Imraan Philander (3/52) to leave Pakistan on 279/5 after 44 overs, Khan and Abbas Afridi helped carry their side to well over the 300-run mark. The latter scored an unbeaten 30 off 19 balls to push the tourists to near 350.

Faced with an uphill battle of 342 for victory and a way back into the series, South Africa made a solid start after a 116-run partnership for the second wicket between Bird and Terblanche. The pair looked dominant at the crease, with Bird dispatching the ball to all parts of the ground before another middle-order collapse hindered the hosts’ chase.

The left-arm spinner, Ali made regular inroads, taking four scalps while Shah delivered effective yorkers to continue picking up wickets despite Bryce Parsons’ valiant 39 off 20 (5 fours, 2 sixes).

Lifa Ntanzi (9) was the last wicket to fall as Pakistan got over the line with 6.3 overs to spare.

Haider Ali, Rohail Nazir, Naseem Shah, Abbas Afridi and Fahad Munir look like future Pak players. Get them to play more List A, FC and PSL cricket.

You forget Baby AB Haris Khan and fast bowler Akhtar Shah

In an ideal world this should be our lineup against all the teams after the WC if we don’t make it to the semis...

Groom these youngsters for the next World Cup in India.

Replace Imam, Babar, Harris, Shadab and Shaheen by some other youngster to make this an A team and have the tour multiple countries to fast track them to national side, if they show talent at higher level.

Too early for Naseem and I say this as someone who can't wait to see him play for the national team. He should play another season of QeA, do the U19 WC and couple of A tours before getting selected for Pakistan.

Naseem is already a complete package. Perfect action, excellent pace, ability to swing & seam the ball both ways & got a good yorker too. Throw him in a test series so that we can find out how much control he has. He has potential to become world class bowler in couple of years if given enough chances & confidence.

I think it would be early for Haider and Naseem. Ideally they should play all matches of 4 day cricket this year and perform. Play the U19 WC next year and then PSL. After that if we think they are developed enough in this team then why not.

He has just recovered from a back injury. I would avoid playing him in tests until his body develops a bit more.

Let’s see.

Let’s hope these youngsters have the desire to perform big and make their country proud.

There is loads of talent for sure but the mindset should be there too.

Facilities at domestic level are perfect recipe to destroy raw talent & it happened with countless players in the past. I want youngsters to be thrown at international level so that they get best possible facilities to develop their careers.

Yes cant deny domestic level isnt great but need to give these guys atleast 7-8 4 day games to get better. Maybe PCB can give them supervised exposure to domestics.

Otherwise learning curve will be bit steep like Hasnain, Shadab, Shaheen etc

Hopefully the new system reforms are implemented soon so that we can develop player at FC level.

Unfortunately current lot of U19s can't benefit much from system reforms due to time constraint. Husnain, Shadab, Shaheen were all thrown to white ball cricket. Keep youngsters to test level for a couple of seasons before introducing them to LOIs. Test cricket means less pressure, more time to excel & develop.

Haris Rauf should also be considered. He has good pace and can bowl excellent yorkers.Shadab is a good field and can bat a bit but he needs to improve his bowling. He is not a quality leg spinner. We should look for a good leg spinner.Zafar Gohar is better than Umar Khan.

Penalty of good talent available these days. There was a time b/w 2013-16 when we had almost nothing. Alhamdullilah we are rich in talent again. Need to groom them properly now. Future looks so much bright.

Pakistan U19 won the toss and batting first in the 5th YODI (Pak lead 4-0 atm in 7 match series)

Saim Ayub turned out to be a over hype player and failed every single matches except 1 match against SL. We need to find a good batsman for other opener.

Levert Manje and Heinrigh Pieterse are set to make their debut for the Coca-Cola South Africa under-19s in the fifth Youth One-Day International (ODI) against Pakistan in Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday.

Top-order batsman, Manje and all-rounder Pieterse have been added to the squad for the remaining three matches as the preparation for the 2020 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa continues.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat.

In the absence of Bryce Parsons, Khanya Cotani will captain the team in today’s clash. The sub-continent side lead the seven-match series four-nil

Irfan Niazi scores 122 as Pakistan score 300/8 in their 50 overs.

Abdullah719 could you please find out why Wasim isn't playing?

Playing today and gets a wicket now.

SA struggling again... They just haven't been able to compete throughout the series tbh.

This SA U19 side had been just blown away.
5-0 coming up and it's not only the winning which is satisfactory it's the manner in which they are winning which is good to see.The performances have just been getting better and better and the icing on the cake is that different set of players are performing in different matches.
Having said that this SA side has been poor. They were blown away in India too.The lost every single match comprehensively in India too. They were losing against the India U19 A and India U19 B regularly and they haven't made many changes to their side from that tour.
Sad to see the states of affair in SA cricket right now.
Exciting times ahead for Pakistan cricket though!

5-0 on the card, Pakistan should aim for 7-0 white wash, will give them enormous psychological boost in coming under 19 WC.

What is the role of Saim Ayub? He is neither opening batsman nor a bowler.

Apart from Naseem I have Have seen Akhtar Shah pacy bowler with a Dale Steynesque action and he is huge as well

This South African Team does have talent. Pakistan has performed exceedingly well and demonstrated a higher skill and talent level.

Haider Ali, Abbas Afridi, and Naseem Shah have all impressed. Shah in particular is a new ball bowler from the right side that Pakistan simply hasn't had for a while.

Fast bowling looking less talented compared to last year quartlet of Musa, Iqbal, Shaheen and Hasnain

I am more worried about our left arm fast bowler's .It seems shaheen is last quality one and we might have to wait longer to see another one of his calibre

Pak U19 will be a force in next year's U19 WC by the looks of it.

Pak U19 will be a force in next year's U19 WC by the looks of it.

Hopefully they are .India were way above us in term of batting and bowling last year worldcup. This year team might challenge them hard

Ind were way better than Pak's batting but to say that they were above in bowling is a bit of exaggeration.India had two quality seamers but even Pak had Shaheen,Musa and Arshad.
This year you will see that India U19 will struggle with their pacers but still their spinners and batsman are pretty good.
India and Pak U19 look really strong and I think they have a great chance of winning the U19 WC
