[VIDEOS] PCB fitness updates on key players including Ihsanullah, Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah

The thing is putting players into matches when their body hasn't properly healed and conditioned hurts their body in the long run.

BCCI have financially taken care of Bhumra and Risabh Pant, this has given the players peace of mind and allowed them to focus 100% on resting, rehab and only coming back when 100% fit and ready.

In comparison our players dread sitting out of games, limelight and want to get back into the swing of things even when not 100% fit.

Centrally contracted players should be getting paid regardless. PSL teams will pay them as well if they are picked. PCB needs to take a firm stand against not playing them if not fit. Like ECB has done so for Archer this year.

BCCI paid Risabh Pant his IPL contract fee of $1.6 million which he missed out on after his accident.

Cannot see the PCB compensating any of the Pakistani players to rest, recuperate at even 5-10% of that amount.

Naseem Shah is well on track for his recovery. We might see him action in this PSL (50-50 chance). Ihsanullah and Hasnain are also recovering well but I don't see these players getting ready for the NZ tour.

As Naseem Shah has moved to Islamabad United from Quetta Gladiators for the upcoming PSL, we can say that he is going to be in action in the PSL 9. His recovery has been on track. We might be seeing him in action soon. Not really looking like he is going to be picked for the New Zealand tour though.

As expected, Naseem shah will be available for Islamabad united in this PSL 9.

------------------------------------

Wahab Riaz during a presser when announcing the Pakistan T20I squad:

“Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah have recovered. Naseem is undergoing rehab at the NCA and we don't want to put too much load on him. Hopefully, by the time PSL starts, he will be fit to play for Islamabad United. Mohammad Hasnain has also just regained fitness, and we've called him to the academy to assess his progress”

“Unfortunately, Ihsanullah will take some more time to regain fitness - we're not sure if he'll be able to play in this PSL”

Any update on Naseem Shah, PCB needs to get their act right and give premium to bowlers for Test cricket, this category system is flawed A,B,C,D rather for bowlers with Long term prospect like SSA Naseem and Hasnain a privilege category "X" be introduced where Test bowlers are only allowed to play England/ Australia 100 or Big Bash and if they get offers from LPL or CPL then PCB will compensate them financially to a certain extent.

Otherwise our cricket is doomed

Hasnain is never going to make it as a test bowler. We play very few ODIs. His majority of matches are going to be t20is and t20s with a few ODIs in between.

It's a damn shame they mismanaged Naseem. He could've been a difference-maker in the Aus tests in place of Hasan.

PSL is an opportunity for him to spread his wings again. The rest that has been given was much needed. Yet, I think he should not play in PSL 9.

As someone who doesn't understand the appeal of franchise cricket, I'll only be watching him in the PSL to evaluate his form after the injury.

The same goes for Ihsanullah, I have some hopes for that guy as well.

Almost all young fast bowlers have been injured and going through rehabilitation. I also see Shadab Khan there, but I don't know why he didn't speak about his rehab journey in the video.

Ihsanullah might be one of the least athletic fast bowlers I've ever seen. Never seen a professional sportsman look that awkward whilst moving lmao.

Shame that our players prioritise PSL over Pakistan cricket

This is exactly what's going on. They will turn for up T20 internationals but safe to say ODI and test cricket is no longer a priority. Same thing happened to WI cricket.

The rehabilitation and recovery of Arshad Iqbal, Ihsanullah, Shadab Khan, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Zeeshan Zameer is ongoing at the NCA, Lahore. The PCB is monitoring the players' fitness. However, why are so many players getting injured? Why can't the PCB management effectively manage their fitness through proper medical analysis?

Seems like a Semi-professional group; Totally amusing

Sufiyan Muqeem undergoes operation on left knee

Left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem underwent an operation on his left knee on Monday evening at a private hospital in Lahore. 24-year-old Sufiyan has represented Pakistan in three T20Is – all in the Asian Games last year in Hangzhou, China.

Sufiyan was discharged from the hospital after the operation and was examined by the PCB medical panel, headed by Dr Sohail Saleem, earlier today at the National Cricket Academy. The surgeon will re-examine him after three days, and the PCB medical team will work on the already planned rehab accordingly.

The PCB has covered all expenses of Sufiyan’s treatment and will continue supporting him in the future.

Dr Sohail Saleem – Director Medical and Sports Sciences: “Sufiyan is in good spirits after successfully undergoing the operation. Before the surgery, Sufiyan had participated enthusiastically in three weeks of pre-rehab at the National Cricket Academy under the trainers and medical panel. The PCB medical team will continue to monitor Sufiyan’s road to recovery and provide him with support to make him fit to resume cricket.”

Mohammad Hasnain + Aamer Jamal = Pakistan win 3-0 in Australia.

I just hope he doesn't rush his rehab just to play PSL 9. Otherwise, he could get injured again.
It wouldn't surprise me if this happens tbh

Abrar Ahmed and Khurram Shehzad start rehab at NCA

Shadab Khan declared fit after undergoing five-week rehab at the NCA

Right-arm spinner Abrar Ahmed and right-arm fast bowler Khurram Shehzad have started their rehab under the medical panel headed by Dr Sohail Saleem at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

25-year-old Abrar, who has featured in six Test matches for Pakistan, returned from Australia earlier this month. He had left the field due to pain in his right leg during the first-class game against Prime Minister XI in Canberra ahead of the three-Test series. 24-year-old Khurram sustained a stress fracture after playing the first Test against Australia in Perth.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Shadab Khan, who copped an ankle injury in the recent National T20 Tournament, has recovered after undergoing a five-week rehab at the National Cricket Academy.

Dr Sohail Saleem – Director Medical and Sports Sciences: “It is pleasing to see Shadab Khan has been declared fit after undergoing a robust rehab plan under the medical team here at the National Cricket Academy.

“Abrar and Khurram have just joined us for rehabilitation. Upon their arrival, these two players underwent mandatory testing to understand the nature of their injuries. They have now been provided with a plan, which they will work on under the supervision of the medical team.”

It's important to remember that the franchises have big $$ when it comes to making these flashy videos about Naseem's recovery. I appeal to everyone here to take these with a grain of salt.

The franchises do not have Pakistan's long term cricket at the top of mind. They do not prioritize player well being for, say the T20 WC.

As Pakistan cricket fans, we need to filter the franchises out.

In a podcast interview, Ali Tareen stated:

"PCB has informed us that Ihsanullah will miss the entire PSL-9"

So does an Elbow injury takes 6-8 months to recover? Or it's just another mess by pcb medical panel

Jofra Archer has struggled with an elbow injury for the past 3 years with multiple false. It’s better for them to err on the side of caution.

Ive had mine for nearly 10 yrs now it just doesnt fully heal

Have had surgery/ 15+ injections etc

It’s all about maintaining decent level of strength/flexibility in elbows now instead of hoping it will be healed

Naseem Shah will be the most anticipated guy here to make a superb comeback in this PSL. He is probably the only guy right now, PCB wishes to be 100 percent fit as the world cup is coming up in few months and he is a key pacer for the Pakistan bowling line up.

Ihsanullah's replacement for MS

The HBL PSL Event Technical Committee has approved Ali Majid to replace Ehsanullah for the remainder of the tournament.

Any more updates on Ihsanullah?

I wish he never got injured. He would probably be competing for a spot in the T20 WC right now.

Shaheen
Naseem
Ihsanullah

Would be a great pace trio!

Yeah Ihsanullah can easily replace Haris Raud as he has the benefit of the height but bad luck for him as most of his initial career is filled with injuries.

Pakistan Cricket Board concerned over young pacer Ihsanullah's injury recovery

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is concerned over young fast bowler Ihsanullah’s prolonged recovery from an elbow injury, which has persisted for a year. A reliable PCB source told PTI that senior officials are frustrated with Ihsanullah's recent behavior, particularly after he contradicted a statement made by his father.

Ihsanullah’s father visited Lahore a few weeks ago to meet with PCB officials, requesting that his son continue his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) rather than in his hometown of Swat. He informed the media that Ihsanullah also preferred to continue his rehab at the NCA.

However, the next day, the 21-year-old Ihsanullah tweeted that he was comfortable continuing his rehabilitation in Swat and did not see the need to travel to Lahore, directly contradicting his father's statement. "The board officials are worried with the sincerity and hard work Ihsan is putting into his rehab program which was designed for him by experts after he was sent to the UK for an appointment with a specialist," the source said.

He added that the recommendation for Ihsanullah to continue his rehab in Swat, under the supervision of an assigned trainer, was made by an independent medical panel appointed by the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi."But with fitness tests to be held before the Champions Cup domestic event there is growing concern over whether Ihsanullah himself is taking his rehab process seriously,” the source said.

Ihsanullah emerged as a promising talent for Pakistan during last year’s Pakistan Super League and was quickly integrated into the national white-ball squad for T20 and ODI matches before suffering his elbow injury. The handling of Ihsanullah’s injury also led to the resignation of the PCB’s head of the medical panel, Dr. Sohail Saleem, after an independent panel was formed to review the diagnosis and treatment recommended for the fast bowler.

The lad needs guidance and he is confused because he doesn't trust these clowns

Man, for all the PCBs faults, they can’t force him to do his rehabilitation. If you have the desire to play for Pakistan, no matter how good you are, you need to put in the work yourself. If you wanna make TikToks all day, then that’s on you.
