[VIDEOS] PCB Management Committee plans to add Quetta and Peshawar as venues for PSL 8

Have you seen the state of Peshawar? It's not ready to host anything international until its society and infrastructure gets a major overhaul. Can the police be trusted to provide foolproof security?

You might as well play in downtown Kabul. KPK and Balochistan are not ready. Maybe revisit in another 10 years.

You need to relax and take a chill pill, Peshawar is not a war zone. It has an international 5 star hotel and the Arbab Niaz Stadium is being renovated, upgraded. It has a very happening food, chai and green tea scene as well, one of the best in Pakistan. The Pathan's in KPK deserve full opportunity to show their hospitality to foreigners.

Have you seen the state of Peshawar? It feels like you're more enthusiastic about being against Pashtuns than you are about the security of the region if you're comparing it to Kabul. Almost half or more of the Pakistan team are Pashtuns, they deserve games in their own region.

Nah bro, the highway has been partially expanded and undergoing full expansion. You shut the highway down for two hours when teams move. Easy. 30/40 mins?

Otherwise Gulberg Greens could be a choice but i dont think they have the space or the security infra.
Maybe if the highway is shut down but that would have extreme consequences bro. There's an entire world that lives in DHA 2, DHA 5 and Rawat. You can't just shut down one of the country's main highways.

Pindi wali side wesay he choked hot hai and it wouldn't be able to tolerate an additional influx of traffic. It's absolutely not worth shutting down an entire city for a game of cricket.

Serena to Stadium Road is actually pretty convenient because there are many different approaches to central Islamabad - so, you can afford to shut down a main road for 10-15 mins.

They are in the team based on their skills, thats enough "deserve". In no way you can extrapolate it to a city like Peshawar and a province like KPK which is a no-man's land.

With Presidential Security teams can play in FATA if required. If Pakistan is providing Presidential Security which will also be beefed up by the army, PSL teams and foreigners can play anywhere in Pakistan. Foreigners must be conditioned to accept suicide attacks, unlimited bomb attacks in Pakistan, as long as Presidential security is being provided, they have nothing to worry about.
Put them in a cage and play a cricket match. Thats how you explain it.

You make very good points but the highway is busy only during peak hours which are office timings. Rest it's pretty empty. Can be managed if needed but like you mentioned, its not ideal.

No brother, it is never empty in Islamabad. blocking highways is not the way to go. Not gonna happen. It will create a massive traffic jam on the alternate routes which the city cannot afford.

From what i remember they are making the Rawalpindi Ring Road. So once that's completed, all commercial traffic would be routed there from Islamabad Highway. This would remove the traffic bottleneck. Stadium takes half a decade to be built as well so they can plan accordingly. I doubt they would though.

That ring road project will still take a while to be completed and traffic burden is too much on alternate routes even now as well.

I want matches all across Pakistan too however we need to face reality.

The KPK crime stats literally have entries for RPG attacks man comon :ROFLMAO:

They are not ready mentally and infrastructure wise.

Nope, the reality is Presidential Level Security which means all foreign players are protected. Foreigners must be conditioned that even if there is a war, they will be protected by security.

It is very easy to say that pehsawar and Quetta will be holding a few games of PSL but it is not easy to execute it with the issues Pakistan has on the ground. Security, infrastructure, facilities, etc. All these need to be addressed on international standards before it is possible. PCB should really be looking to execute plans that they had on paper for a long long time instead of just talk and No show.

Quetta railways blast that killed more than 30 people today has put a huge dent on this Plan.

I think we can now forget of any PSL game to be held in that area.

Yea it's never happening until Pakistani state and army change directions for the country.
