[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Pakistan's Comedy Fielding

Mohammad Hasnain to Livingstone, 1 run, dropped again! This time it is Hasnain himself. Full toss and Livingstone swings hard, miscues it straight up and Hasnain moved to his right, got both hands but does not hang on

Mohammad Hasnain to Livingstone, 2 runs, dropped! Banged into the wicket and Livingstone takes it on, he goes for the pull and the top-edge flies behind the wicket, Asif Ali runs towards short fine and puts in the dive, beautiful the ball does not stick in his gloves

Not to forget the truckload of misfields. Haider Ali was comical

These big grounds in Australia are unforgiving when it comes to fielding.

The way Pakistan has been fielding of late, this could be their weakest facet at this T20 World Cup.

Furious Shadab Khan Vents His Anger As Pakistan Miss Easy Run-Out Opportunity

Lol who was the fielder wanting to become a hero there? No presence of mind at all, should have just throwed it to Shadab.

Rauf I believe. Wanted to go for the direct hit. Shadab though was having a bad over and was hit for 2 sixes earlier.

Ah, fast bowler mentality, always wants to hit the stumps. Anyways, they should learn from these mistakes. Can't keep fielding like this in the main tournament.

Pakistan is still better than India

Well well well...numbers instead of easy, unsubstantiated opinions. Well done Pakistan.

Still, I have been meaning to make a PP thread for 15 years on "Pakistan will lose ***INSERT SERIES*** due to its fielding."

Pakistan are brilliant at times in batting/bowling/fielding but inevitably, one or two major drops at crucial times make all the difference. Rahat in Australia, Asif in England, Hassan Ali in Dubai etc.

The numbers show Pakistan are an excellent fielding side. You look at Indian team giving all standards away for the last few years with unfit players and lack of intensity and contrast Pakistan - and you can see the difference.

That does not absolve Pakistan of making some crucial errors at critical moments or having an off day all round. Need to tighten up.

A lot of work to do for Majeed Sahib

Vdz3kpC.png

Another PCB's nepotism example. This guy has lack of skill or qualification to be a fielding coach. But if Saqlain can get head-coach position anyone can get coaching job. Most likely he is a political appointment or has strong connection with PCB.

Who is the teams fielding coach? The team has been habitually dropping simple catches, conceding twos when there should have been singles, fielding inside the circle is poor where they easily concede singles and no one in the team can score a direct hit even if offered a million dollars to do so

I am seriously frustrated by the lack of accountability in the team.

Sir Abdul good for nothing Majed.

A lot of work to do for Majeed Sahib

Vdz3kpC.png

after looking at the pic, u can literally expect him to say....

Majeed: daikhain har team hi catch pakar rhi hai, koi bhi catch drop nhin kr rhi, toh meine boys ko bola, wo karo jo koi nhin kr raha, be different in your approach.... results ap k saamnay hain...

How can Hazrat Syedna Hafiz Al-Haj Sir Abdul Majeed be expected to make improvements when the boys don't even know how to call their catches and are averaging 1 collision per match? Secondly, how can he make improvements when this is the average Pakistani working day:

9 am: Office opens at 9 am
11 am: Workers start arriving at 11 am, some arrive at noon
Noon: Start the day with "having" a "proper breakfast" and making sure one "takes" KARAK CHAI
1 pm: "PR" (Pakistani term for schmoozing) with the higher ups
2 pm: Dupair ka khana
3 pm: Chai pani
4 pm: Don't even respond to work tickets just randomly close them
5 pm: Go home

"Majja ni life"

Stung by criticism of Pakistan fielding, PCB reassures us that they are working hard on this!

I thought Pakistan were very good in the field today.

Credit where it's due.

Apart from a couple of poor throws, the rest of the fielding and catching was spot on.

Surprising to see Pak doing well with catches

Pakistan Drop Catch tracker

Two already today.

How many have we dropped this tournament?

Still remember the crazy 2019 WC stat where we dropped close to 20 catches over course of tournament y

Nawaz.. didn't throw the ball. Maybe a brilliant move to keep Williamson on :rahat1

This could hurt

Haris Rauf to Williamson, 2 runs, oh Pakistan fumble a runout. They were outstanding with ground fielding thus far. Haris Rauf had time but he tried to collect the throw and whip the bails off in one go and missed the ball. Mitchell was an easy goner with a pretty good throw from Nawaz. Was a good length delivery, Williamson wrists this to long-on and they escape the runout

Elementary stuff. Have you take those

Fielding has been terrible today - pressure or old habits come back?

We're not the most comedic fielding side anymore!

That was a bad day at the office against India, as Pakistan are actually a very accomplished fielding side these days. Will take a while to shrug off that reputation unfortunately.

Kishan’s drop catch

What was that? Does he have sauce pans instead of keeping gloves? How can you drop a catch like that?

Our fielding standards have definitely gone up last couple series.
To be ahead of NZ, South Africa and Australia is a huge deal. Good job to Pakistan :)

Would have been an interesting statistic to see a breakdown of these catches - whether wicket keeping or catches in the outfield. I am curious if it's our fast bowlers causing a faint edges to the keeper that's keeping our percentages higher. Gut says probably not.

Pakistan's ground fielding was bad on a damp service, I can't blame that. Their catching however in the last couple of years across formats has been VERY GOOD. No idea how anyone can make fun of Pakistani fielding with the usuals stereotypes anymore. Heck, in the SL series they produced 4 all time great catches in a single test match lol they were not doing that pre 2012.

Pakistan are one of the most solid fielding teams out there, possibly the best all round at the moment. People may want to watch more cricket to see some comical fielding by England in recent times or India or Sri Lanka.

Both fielders expect the other one to attempt the catch. Iftikhar at first slip and Salman at second. Poor fielding today from Pakistan

i dont know why ifti is standing alomst right behind the keeper.

this range can be covered by Rizwan easily so why not placing him iftikhar litle bit wider to 2nd slip.

Once Again Babar was below par at captaincy.

Wasn’t an easy catch, especially for a 40 year old.

The ball flew off the edge and was moving away from the slips. It would’ve required a one handed catch from someone like Shadab to have taken it.

In every tournament/series, Pakistani fielders do something like this to keep the memers busy.

At least 30 runs given in 19 overs. Shameful and just not good enough. Watching since 1999 not seen us field worse.

Whenever the ball is hurtling towards the rope and a Pakistani is the fielder, you just know that he's going to overrun the ball, or roll over it for fun, or whatever else for it to go for 4 anyway.

Pakistan Comical fielding continues on the New Zealand Tour as well. Dropped catches, and easy boundaries given in the outfield. Babar dropped a sitter in the 1st game and today in the 2nd game he left a ball on the boundary that goes for 4. Poor stuff. Yeah Babar slipped, tbh, but still he should have put some hands on the ball..

That was a sloppy effort from Fakhar Zaman. Should have taken it. It was an easy one.

Looks like he was trying to take it with closed eyes.

Very Pakistani thing.

Seems Pakistan has competition.

Scenes from Day 3 of the first Test between South Africa and Pakistan.
