Bowling quite good!

Bringing the ball back into the left handers, I think that's his stock delivery.

One was definitely his wicket - hit the bails at pace, the bails didn't dislodge. :shadab

He definitely has brought some life into our pace bowling.

Excellent today.

Not too pacy though but miles better than 120kph Abbas.

Just shows that should have been taken to Australia. Would surely have done better than the likes of IK snr and Musa.

Don't think he is test class. Body may not hold up .

It took your trundlers ishant and yadav and to some extend Shami 30-40 tests to become test class so it's a bit too early to judge Usman . In an ideal world Naseem would still be playing fc cricket for couple of seasons and Shanwari would be back up support for limited overs team but these are not normal times for Pakistan pace attack.

Think he's talking about the action.

24-25 is the best age for him to debut in tests and gives his body best chance of holding up. He had multiple back stress fractures when he was young which is really common for young pacers who bend their back like him Bond, Bumrah, Cummins, even Naseem and many others as well. He changed his action a bit as well to take bit of stress out of the back during delivery.

24-25 is the age when your body is fully developed so he can only hope that his fitness remains their like Cummins (Whose back is much more stronger than his younger days) and doesnt go towards the Bond and Pattinson route.

Usman Khan Shinwari's maiden wicket!

Yadav and Shami have maintained higher average speed s in tests in this decade than any Pakistani bowler not named Wahab. I think shinwwri should have been in the world cup squad. However, I don't think he can bowl 18 overs a day.

He's officially 25. Maybe a couple of years older. I just don't see shinwari as a solid test bowler let alone a quality one . He'll have his days but that's about it. Shaheen is the exceptional talent here. Not sure naseem s body can handle bowling in tests at this pace at his age (19-20). He's a few years away from playing test cricket.

But with his action there’s always added stress on the back. Bowlers with misaligned actions with the modern workload will always have injury concerns.

But his body isn’t the primary issue. His inability to swing the ball back in and lack of bowling intelligence is always going to play against him when up against decent opposition on truer pitches, especially in test cricket. We’ve seen that in his LO career thus far as well where he struggled in SA and the Asia Cup.

He bowled well and physically he is the strongest of all the fastmen in Pak team.

It must have been disappointing for him when he bowled a beautiful inswinger which hit the stumps but the bails refused to come off. What a ball that was

He bowled well but his pace is too low. He was bowling around 129 kph to 135 kph. That’s too slow at the higher levels.

Needs to get around 135-140 and he will be a lot better. Has a natural swinging action and gets the ball to seam a bit.

Shinwari unlike Amir knows how to get wickets, but he risks going for runs as well

Showed good potential today. Honestly think he needs to be persevered with and invested into heavily. If he can support his magic moments with some actual consistency then Pakistan have a good player on their hands. Waqar needs to work hard on this guy and not just focus on the youngsta's like Hasnain who may or may not come through.

Yes, but that doesn't translate to fast.

Was bowling way too slow this match. Decent nonetheless.

His pace has dropped, even during the SL ODI series he didn't bowl quick enough

That was a beauty. I have never really rated this guy as I think he puts a lot of effort in for not that much pace, but if he could produce more deliveries like that, he could be a player.

In tests pace of every bowler drops a little as the innings progresses and also to conserve energy as its different ball game to ball 15-20 overs in a day to 4 or 10 overs.

Jofra Archer is considered express however most of his deliveries in tests in recent series against NZ were mid 130s. So unless a team has luxury to have one bowler bowling 3-4 short spells in a day, its highly unlikely to maintain pace throughout the test. Archer in Ashes and debut match of Naseem were anomalies which cant be continued every other match.

Irrespective of the bowling intelligence Shinwari when in decent rhythm can get it upto mid 140s however you are not gonna see it every other match as a lot of things come into play.

No one is expecting him to bowl 140 to 145 consistently but his pace should be around 133kph to 138kph, not less than that. He was bowling around 129 to 132 kph mostly, for his short height and lack of movement both ways makes his pace just not good enough

Lol conserve his energy

His first over today with the new ball and he was barely touching 130 kph

Didnt watch the over, that is definitely not good enough for the first over with the new ball especially considering only few wickets are required to be taken.

Fair enough.

I think he good have a good test career. The problem is his decision making is awful and can at times bowl absolute long hops. Good swing bowler but needs to slightly up his pace.

Yet another cricketer coming down with an illness for which there is a vaccine available. PCB really needs to start vaccinating all contracted players

Struggling in England so far. Not much success with the ball and bowling no-balls and wides regularly.
