[VIDEOS] Right-wing thugs turn on immigrant populations in UK in the aftermath of Southport killings

As I said yesterday, my friend worked in military intelligence and said the Russian trolls worked over time after these occasions.
Trolls can only be effective if people already have seeds of agreement to what they say.

There are always blowhards around, but this was entirely generated by Trolls. Our Police are getting injured, shops are getting looted, places of worship attacked. EDL needs to be prescribed as a terrorist organisation

Edl are financed by pro israelis . It benefits them to raise hate against Muslims

I agree with you here, but I also feel this is being fuelled by misinformation or misunderstanding. EDL and their founder Tommy Robinson are now targeting Muslims and Islam but do they even know why?

Yes, they do fuel and provoke it, and not absolving them of that. Just wanted to add to the point, not subtract from it.

Not fed to him, he saw accounts in real time. EDL may well be israeli funded.

I’ve read about this , it was meant to be bots on twitter but in the end there was no evidence it was linked to Russian state . Tommy robinsons best mate posted to riot the night before . They carry Israeli flags for a reason

You are not going to get any clear cut evidence, they are not so simple. The Israeli govt pays students to troll others online and lot of the Islamophobic comes from the Hindutuva. Everyone is doing it, it's not just the Russians.

I would have thought EDL supporters hate israelis almost as much as Muslims. If the israelis are funding them, then they are building pretty shaky foundations for themselves. Or do you think the israelis are now an invisible part of British fabric where the resentment to them has all but dissipated?

Rumours of more disorder 'completely untrue', council says

Sefton Council says suggestions circulating online that people have been told to avoid Southport town centre due to further disorder are untrue.

"We have confirmed that there is NO disruption or disorder in Southport at this time and the town centre remains fully open for business," it says in a statement.

"We urge people to remain calm and if they need, to please seek advice from official channels such as Sefton Council and Merseyside Police."

Locals come together to rebuild wall outside mosque

This morning I saw locals removing the damaged wall at the mosque here in Southport. Children helped to sweep away the debris.

I have returned a few hours later and a team of builders are putting cement and bricks down to rebuild it – it is almost complete.

This is the spirit of the town that I have witnessed over the last two days coming together in the face of adversity and tragedy.

And still people from the local community are coming out with cold drinks and packets of crisps for the workers.

All communities must stick together at these horrific times. The murder of innocents is an attack on each and every one of us.

This would suggest that the Muslim community in the city is much valued and appreciated by the locals. A welcome slap in the face to those who tried to sow ethnic dissension.

Children's clubs tighten safety procedures and cancel classes after Southport stabbings

Children's clubs are tightening their safeguarding policies or cancelling sessions while they conduct reviews, as the industry reacts to the killing of three girls in Southport.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested following the knife attack on children in a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on Monday.

Many clubs and classes for children are now reviewing how they keep children safe and reassuring parents.

Louise Willan, chief executive of Jets Centre in Liverpool's Waterloo area, said she has been through policies with staff, spoken to Sefton Council and emailed updates to parents.

"We have reviewed everything, even though they are very robust," Ms Willan said.

"We are quite tight. No visitor can come in unless we keycode them in. Plus, we have CCTV, as well as locked [outer] gates."

The club, which looks after 2-11-year-olds from "very diverse" communities, also asks for a password at pick-up time that is unique to each child, Ms Willan said.

"It's just very frightening. We are scared."

Last night's riots had "really upset the community", she told Sky News.

"We went to a lovely vigil and within half hour the town had been turned upside down. That's how sad it was that people have got that way."

Carnival Chaos Circus school in Southport cancelled its classes until further notice on Monday so it can "review safety and security at the studio", it posted online.

Liverpool Trojans Baseball Club has also made the "difficult decision" to pause youth sessions while it reviews processes to "ensure that we are keeping your children as safe as possible".

"We have looked on in disbelief as news of the horrific incident in Southport has unfolded", while concern for child safety is "at an all-time high", the club wrote on Facebook yesterday.

Anouska Cassells, a former nursery manager, runs music and movement classes for toddlers at her home in Hadfield, Derbyshire.

She used to sometimes leave her front door open, especially during the current hot weather, but now it is always locked, she said.

"From now, everyone will be greeted by me and exited by me. I can see who is outside," she told Sky News, adding she has updated parents directly.

She called it was beyond anyone's "wildest" fears that "anything could ever happen like this".

"The upset is horrendous, I can't imagine what families are going through. To drop a child off somewhere that they know and love, and for this to happen, is just heartbreaking."

Freedom Dancers in Greater Manchester is also double-checking its procedures.

"We have a locked door, CCTV at our studio and door camera in place however please rest assure we will be reviewing our safety protocols before you return to class. Safeguarding our students is paramount," it said in a comment on Facebook.

In London's Walthamstow, Sylvestrian Leisure Centre emailed parents to tell them about new "drop-off and collection procedures to ensure the safety of all children attending our holiday camp".

Guidance from the government's education department, published in April, says 'education settings' should have a "security lead... to develop and maintain policies and plans which promote a good security culture and deters someone intending to cause harm from targeting your setting".

Flares thrown towards Downing Street gates as police clash with protesters

People have thrown flares towards the gates of Downing Street at a protest in the wake of the Southport knife attack and riot.

A few hundred protesters chanting "Rule Britannia", "save our kids" and "stop the boats" attempted to leave the pavement opposite in defiance of strict Metropolitan Police conditions.

Kindly provide reference to the quote.
I only asked if the identity of the culprit has been made public or not.

You asked because you thought he was Muslim.

Most normal people would be grieving for the victims and calling for the suspect (whoever he is) to be put on a noose.

People who have an agenda will be more concerned about the suspects religion so they can spew their hate online.

Is the UK hostile to Muslims? Compared to which non-Muslim country with a significant immigrant Muslim minority?

There are no prohibitions on Muslims practicing their religion freely in the UK. Muslims can make money, find employment, and have equal access to the law. However, religion should always be kept out of politics. Unfortunately, a vocal group of marginalised Muslims seeks to use divisive influence for political gain. This mirrors the behavior of the far right.

Both far-right groups aim to create an "us vs. them" mentality. When people buy into the rhetoric from one side, they are also buying into it from the other.

the biggest problem is that the fringe on both sides are the most vocal. the vast majority of people just want to live their own lives, and they dont care about your religion. they have their own stuff to deal with.
The last paragraph is gold. The power and influence of the far-right gets overstated. They're a voluble lot on social media and they do win protest votes, but translating that into significant electoral power is another matter.

In France all the pollsters and pundits were confidently predicting a win for Front National. However when the prospects of a far-right govt became real, the French people rejected them.

Farage marginally increased his vote from 2015 - but much of the Reform share was inflated by meaningless protest votes in the knowledge that a Labour victory was certain. Many of their voters simply wanted to stick it to Sunak than any great embrace of Reform's manifesto.

Finally, although it's anecdotal, I've worked in Barnsley countless times where the Reform vote was high. Never once have I felt unwelcome. The vast majority of my white patients are the friendliest, good humoured folk you could meet. Maybe that's as I'm handing out their tablets, but ironically the rudest and impolite ones are the Eastern Europeans. I don't mind sending some of them to Rwanda.

The foreign posters egging on a race war here simply don't understand British culture. We are just not given to extremes. We're fairly live and let live, and just want to be left alone.

Absolutely. I work in school with 85% white British, I live in an area with 98% white residents. I haven't been racially abused since the late 90s, and just like you I feel I am accepted as one of them. Recently my old neighbour stopped me and complained about the Romanians that now live in the house and said they were rude and unsociable. In not so many words she wanted us back.
It's a shame that racist Inds bought up on hate by Modi think they are like us.

Boy, 17, charged after three girls killed in Southport stabbing attack

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder and attempted murder after a mass stabbing in Southport.

Three children, six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar, died as a result of the attack at The Hart Space community centre.

A "Taylor Swift Yoga and Dance Workshop" aimed at children aged between primary school years two and six (seven to 11 years old) was taking place at the time of the attack in the seaside town, which is north of Liverpool.

The suspect, who is from a nearby village in Banks in Lancashire, but was born in Cardiff, Wales, was arrested on Monday and a knife was seized by armed police.

He has been charged with three counts of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder.

The reason they complain about eastern europeans to you is that they cant be accused of racism them. I guarantee a lot of older folks dont like brown or black immigrants either. They just have the good sense of knowing what to say and when to say it.

That being said, there is very little overt racism in the UK.

Agitators accused of Islamophobia for linking Southport attack to Muslims

British Muslims, activists and civil rights groups have decried riots in Southport and hate speech in the aftermath of a fatal stabbing attack, as they spoke of a sense of fear and rising Islamophobia.

The northern English seaside town, which was struck by grief after a suspect stabbed children and adults on Monday at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday dance club, was plunged into chaos on Tuesday evening when rioters attacked a local mosque, chanted “F*** Muslims”, and assaulted police.

More than 50 officers were injured during the riots which erupted after a peaceful vigil. Tensions heated up as online misinformation and speculation spread over the knife attack suspect. Unverified claims have suggested he is a Muslim and a migrant.

Police have said the suspect is a 17-year-old who was born in the Welsh capital, Cardiff. He lived in a village near Southport. No further details about him have been announced since suspects cannot be named before they are charged. Furthermore, suspects under 18 have automatic anonymity.

Merseyside Police have said the tragedy, during which Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar were killed, is not being treated as a terrorism-related incident.

But figures such as the far-right agitator Tommy Robinson have stirred tensions, railing against Muslims and undocumented migrants after the attack while suggesting the government, police and media are conspiring to hide information from the public.

In a seven-minute video posted on Tuesday to his X account with the caption, “There’s more evidence to suggest Islam is a mental health issue rather than a religion of peace”, Robinson tells his 800,000 followers, “They’re replacing the British nation with hostile, violent, aggressive migrants … Your children don’t matter to [the Labour government].”

Nigel Farage, the hard-right populist MP, shared a video on X on Tuesday in which he asked, “Was this guy (the suspect) being monitored by the security services? Some reports say he was. Others, less sure. Police say it’s a non-terror incident … I just wonder whether the truth is being withheld from us.”

A slew of other accounts on social media sites blamed Muslims for Monday’s attack, which has shocked the United Kingdom and led to an outpouring of grief and sympathy for the families of the victims. Five of the eight other children who suffered stab wounds – and two adults – are in a critical condition.

Merseyside Police said some of the rioters “were believed to be supporters of the English Defence League” – the far-right movement founded by Robinson.

The Liverpool Region Mosque Network said in a statement that it was “shocked and horrified” by the knife attack against children and adults at the dance school.

“A minority of people are attempting to portray that this inhumane act is somehow related to the Muslim community. Frankly, it is not, and we must not let those who seek to divide us spread hatred and use this as an opportunity,” it said.

“I felt terrified for Muslims in Southport,” said Fatima Rajina, a research fellow based at the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre who specialises in issues including identity, race and British Muslims. “No one can ever tell Muslims that our fears are just a figment of our imagination. Islamophobia has always been facilitated by politicians’ dog-whistle politics who’re never held accountable.”

A post on X that has been shared more than 4,000 times, referenced another recent riot that some online agitators mistakenly blamed on Muslims.

“Before you ridicule any British Muslim for saying they no longer feel safe living in the country of their birth, just remember that in the past two weeks, we have been blamed for the Leeds riots and the Southport stabbings, neither of which had anything to do with us,” it said.

In the northern city of Leeds, people recently rioted after local authorities intervened in a child protection case.

The Runnymede Trust race equality think tank said of the Southport riots: “This is the inevitable, devastating, outcome of rising Islamophobia that’s enabled to fester on social media, in mainstream media, and by our political class. Our thoughts are with the people of Southport, and British Muslims across the country.”

The head of the Muslim Council of Britain, Zara Mohammed, said: “At a time of great tragedy, loss, and mourning, we must stand firm against the cynical forces of hatred and division. This does not represent our diverse Britain and the people of Southport. The government must address the increasing rise of violent far-right extremism targeting Muslim communities. More must be done to tackle Islamophobia.”

The Mayor of Liverpool, Steve Rotheram, said the riots “only further traumatise a community that is already struggling to come to terms with this attack. Mindless violence directed at the very people who ran towards the danger yesterday, and outright Islamophobia, only distract from the work of delivering justice.”

Jenni Stancombe, the mother of the seven-year-old victim Elsie Dot Stancombe, called for calm.

“This is the only thing that I will write, but please stop the violence in Southport tonight,” she posted on social media.

Basically this.
Have been saying this for a long times

Name and shame such people. Dispose their name and religious identity and take strict action against that community to avoid such things in the future. It’s the only way.

Police get more time with suspect as five held over unrest

Police have been granted more time to question a boy over the deaths of three children in the Southport knife attack.

The 17-year-old has been in custody since he was arrested in the Merseyside town on Monday.

Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar died and eight other children were injured in the stabbings at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

A peaceful vigil took place on Tuesday evening but unrest broke out shortly afterwards near a mosque, leading to the arrest of five men over the disorder.

Merseyside Police said the disturbance was believed to have involved English Defence League supporters and those behind the violence had been fired up by social media posts which suggested an Islamist link to the stabbings.

A protest in central London on Wednesday night also saw violent clashes with police, with bottles and cans thrown at Metropolitan Police officers.

Flares were also seen being thrown towards the gates of Downing Street in Whitehall.

Disorder also broke out in Hartlepool in Teesside, where Cleveland Police said they had made several arrests.

The 17-year-old boy, who was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after Monday's attack, has no known links to Islam.

The suspect, who has not been named because of his age, was born in Cardiff and later moved to Banks in Lancashire, a village that lies a few miles north of Southport.

Five of the children remain in a critical condition, along with two adults, following the attack at the Hart Space centre on Hart Street.

The disturbance broke out outside Southport Mosque on St Luke's Road, near the scene of the attack, a short time after thousands paid their respects to the dead and injured at a vigil at the Atkinson Theatre on Lord Street.

In a message widely shared on social media, Elsie's mother Jenni Stancombe condemned the violence.

"This is the only thing that I will write, but please stop the violence in Southport tonight," she wrote.

"The police have been nothing but heroic these last 24 hours and we don't need this."

Jonathan Hayes, who runs a business next door to the Southport studio where the attack took place, was in a critical condition after being stabbed in the leg and has undergone major surgery.

From his hospital bed, he told the BBC he did not see himself as a hero, as some press reports were portraying him.

Instead, he said: “Some would say confronting a guy wielding a hunting knife is utter madness”.

Leanne Lucas, the yoga teacher who organised the dance class which was attacked, has also awoken and has spoken for the first time, her family told the BBC.

Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said 49 of her officers had been injured in the disturbance, along with four others from Lancashire Police who had been drafted in to help.

The force said eight "sustained serious injuries including fractures, lacerations, a suspected broken nose and concussion" and were treated in hospital.

They added that three police dogs also suffered lacerations, cuts and burns.

A police representative said a 31-year-old from St Helens, a 39-year-old from Southport and a 31-year-old from West Derby in Liverpool had been held on suspicion of violent disorder, while a 32-year-old from Manchester, "with a probation address in Southport, was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed article".

On Wednesday night police said a fifth arrest had been made after officers called to a domestic disturbance recognised a man from footage of the disorder.

Merseyside Police said a 39-year-old man from Southport had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, threats to kill and a racially aggravated public order offence.

The force also said a 32-year-old man was charged with possession of an offensive weapon after a knife was recovered.

Chief Constable Serena Kennedy told a news conference that more arrests would likely follow.

"It's impossible to say [how many will be arrested]. It's really early days in the investigation," she said.

"Initially, there were about 70 people who made their way away from the vigil and were making their way towards the mosque.

"They suddenly became about 200 in number and then others joined that number."

Merseyside Police Federation's Chris McGlade said his injured colleagues were the same "courageous officers" who were themselves trying to come to terms with the "unimaginable tragedy" of Monday's attack.

A Section 60 Order giving police extra stop and search powers and the ability to disperse disruptive crowds was put in place and later extended until Thursday evening.

Extra officers would also remain in the area for reassurance, police said.

The town's MP Patrick Hurley said "thugs" travelled to the area to use the deaths "for their own political purposes".

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper had earlier warned about disinformation linked to the attack.

Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss said there had been "much speculation and hypothesis" around the teenager and "some individuals" were using it to "bring violence and disorder to our streets".

"We have already said that the person arrested was born in the UK, and speculation helps nobody at this time," he said.

Rumours of a second protest in Southport town centre earlier were unfounded, Sefton Council said.

It added: "We have confirmed that there is no disruption or disorder in Southport at this time and the town centre remains fully open for business."

Following the night of disorder, a clean-up operation began, with many members of the community coming together to help.

Volunteers brought brushes and shovels to clean up the Sussex Road and St Luke's Road area following the riot.

Melted plastic from wheelie bins which were set alight could be seen stuck to the tarmac on St Luke's Road.

Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims said there had been "a tremendous effort by members of the public" to help.

She said locals had assisted in cleaning up the streets, "using hose pipes and brushes, and donating food and dog food to officers to restore the pride and respect they have for their town".

Ibrahim Hussein, chairman of Southport Mosque, said he was moved to see locals turn up to help rebuild parts of the mosque damaged in the disorder.

"It brings tears to my eyes because although I know the people of Southport and I know how beautiful they are, but this was still a moving experience to see all that," he said.

A crowdfunding page which was launched by a Taylor Swift fans group in the aftermath of the attack to raise money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital, which has treated many of those involved, has raised more than £300,000.

Why can't the police just say this is not a terror related incident and disclose the religion of the individual. He is from Rhwanda so would be a Christian most likely and this would put an end to all the muslim related issues connected to this...
They legally can't disclose the identity till a judge orders it or he turns 18.

The foreign posters egging on a race war here simply don't understand British culture. We are just not given to extremes. We're fairly live and let live, and just want to be left alone.

The foreign posters you are referring to are hindutvas, they have their own reasons for egging on a race war.

They don't have to disclose his name, they can reveal whether it is terror related or not and his religion.
They have already said its not terror related.

Not sure how police can or should reveal the religion of a criminal if it has nothing to do with the crime.

It seems like a difficult thing to establish, probably completely irrelevant to a police investigation and a complete waste of time.

If the sole reason is to stop dumbos from rioting then I doubt they will have an effect. They are rioting based on fake images and names that can be debunked in seconds.

They don't have to disclose his name, they can reveal whether it is terror related or not and his religion.

I think that's why his parents nationality was leaked to the media so people can connect the dots. But they dont want to make a statement mentioning his religion and then get criticised for it

This is for the coconuts on this forum supporting the England footy team.. no matter what !!

You must ask yourself this question while it got to a level the Brits fringed up and frustrated with Pakistani immigrants.

Whatever happened here is bad, unprovoked and criminal in nature. I hope that person is found and prosecuted.

But one has to understand the patterns and root cause of this. You cannot always remain in denial that the world out there does not see through the two faced nature of the immigrants of a certain community. Need all the privileges of that nation but still carry deep rooted hatred for them.

They have said it's not "terror-related", whatever that is supposed to mean. Aren't those racist thugs smashing up mosques trying to terrorise minorities?
The authorities have already given out too much unnecessary information. What does his parents being from Rwanda have to do with anything? He born and raised in Britain, so is British. The authorities need to do more to prevent misinformation and stop pandering to these thugs.

They did ? I wasn't aware, when did this happen ?

"At this early stage, enquiries are ongoing to establish the motive for this tragic incident and we would urge people not to speculate while the investigation is ongoing.

We can also confirm that the incident is not currently being treated as terror-related and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."

This has backfired on the far right & israel, they expected larger more violent protests but the people of the Uk with more than 2 brain cells know their agenda . For years the far right have been causing division & hate but failed because the majority of Brits are living in 2024 , it’s a mixed society in every major town & city . Everyone has family or close friends with different ethnic groups .

Those who live outside of the uk & are hoping this will mean Muslims are scared are as delusional as the dumb far right. The biggest enemies of the far right & those who attack them are the anti facist groups , mostly white British. They haven’t been needed for years now .

It’s sad this has taken the news while parents are mourning their children .

The suspect has been charged now , swift justice is needed.

Keir Starmer to meet police leaders as Southport attack leads to violent unrest

Keir Starmer will host senior police leaders in Downing Street on Thursday afternoon after a second night of violent unrest across England.

The prime minister is expected to stress to police chiefs that those who perpetrate violence and “sow hatred” should be met with “the full force of the law”.

The meeting comes after a 17-year-old boy was charged with the murders of three girls. Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Bebe King, six, were fatally stabbed on Monday at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on Hart Street in Southport, Merseyside.

Eight other children suffered knife wounds, with five of them in a critical condition. Two adults were also critically injured.

The accused has been remanded in custody to appear on Thursday at Liverpool magistrates court.

The incident sparked violent unrest in London, Hartlepool and Manchester overnight on Wednesday, while a demonstration in Aldershot led to a tense standoff with riot police. Far-right demonstrations were organised after false claims that the attack was carried out by a Muslim asylum seeker who crossed the Channel in a small boat gained traction on social media.

At the meeting, Starmer is expected to praise officers’ bravery in dealing with the incident in Southport and its aftermath, and commit to working in partnership with police forces across the UK to stop “mindless violence”.

In London, more than 100 people were arrested after protesters in Whitehall launched beer cans and glass bottles at police and threw flares at the statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square.

In Hartlepool, a police car was set alight after a large group of people gathered in the Murray Street area. Officers were attacked with missiles, glass bottles and eggs, Cleveland police said. They made eight arrests, with more expected.

In Manchester, demonstrators turned out in large numbers outside the Holiday Inn hotel on Oldham Road at about 6pm on Wednesday, the Manchester Evening News reported.

About 40 people, who the paper reported included children and men wearing balaclavas, gathered outside the Oldham Road premises in what the paper said “appeared to be a stand against asylum seekers currently being housed in the hotel”. Manchester police dispersed the crowd after protesters started throwing beer bottles at officers and members of the public.

The protest in London was staged under the banner Enough is Enough. Demonstrators wearing England flags chanted “We want our country back” and “Oh Tommy Robinson”, referring to the rightwing activist. One man wore a shirt with the slogan: “Nigel Farage for prime minister, Tommy Robinson for home secretary”.

Aldershot appears to have escaped the violence seen in other parts of the country, but a demonstration there was still met by riot police. The local Labour MP, Alex Baker rebuked the violence in her community, stating there was “no justification for disorderly behaviour and the scenes do not represent Aldershot and Farnborough”.

“I have visited the scene myself this evening and have been in touch with the chief inspector … We all support our shared right to peacefully protest but we will not stand for people coming into our towns determined to stir up trouble and divide our community.”

Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, was criticised for appearing to give credence to conspiracy theories about the attack. In a video on Tuesday he questioned “whether the truth is being withheld from us”.

Neil Basu, a former senior Scotland Yard officer who was in charge of counter-terrorism from 2018 to 2021, said there were “real world consequences” when public figures failed to “keep their mouth shut”.

“Nigel Farage is giving the EDL [English Defence League] succour, undermining the police, creating conspiracy theories, and giving a false basis for the attacks on the police,” he said, referring to the far-right, Islamophobic group whose supporters are believed to have been involved in the rioting in Southport.

And not the BD Canadian poster forever egging on non Muslims? Lets not forget his contribution to the great satanic fire Captain.

I don't know which threads you are referring to but he has not done that in this thread. Off topic divergence for no good reason.

More than 100 arrests as disorder after Southport attack spreads

Dozens of arrests have been made as disorder following the Southport knife attack spread to different parts of the country.

More than 100 people were arrested in central London on Wednesday evening as officers clashed with protesters on Whitehall, close to Downing Street, during a demonstration.

Unrest also broke out in Hartlepool where eight people were arrested, several officers were injured and a police car was set on fire.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will meet senior police leaders on Thursday to offer them his "full backing" in the face of ongoing unrest.

Dal Babu, former Chief Superintendent and firearms commander in the Met, has blamed the disorder on the "reckless" spread of misinformation about the identity of the suspect charged in the stabbing.

Speaking on BBC R4's Today Programme, Mr Babu said the police have taken the "unprecedented" decision to confirm the suspect "was born in this country".

In London, demonstrators were seen launching flares towards the gates of Downing Street and at a statue of Winston Churchill.

People could be heard chanting phrases such as "stop the boats" and "save our kids" as they threw bottles and cans at officers.

Earlier, the Met said conditions placed on the protest had been breached.

The Met said it made arrests for a range of offences including violent disorder, assault on an emergency worker and breach of protest conditions on Wednesday evening.

In a statement, the Met said officers were deployed to "ensure disorder was contained" and that some "suffered minor injuries".

Several officers were also injured in Hartlepool after violence broke out in the town, Cleveland Police said.

Eight people were arrested in relation to public order offences after glass bottles and eggs were thrown at police by protesters. A police car was also set on fire.

Ch Supt David Sutherland said of the Cleveland arrests: "At this stage we believe the protest is in connection with the incident in Southport earlier this week."

The force said they "expect further arrests to be made in the coming days".

Disorder was also reported in Aldershot. Local MP Alex Baker said a peaceful protest "descended into intimidating behaviour" at a hotel in the Hampshire town.

"This incident was exacerbated by people from outside our community who came here determined to cause unrest," she said.

"We all support our shared right to peacefully protest, but we will not stand for people coming to our towns determined to stir up trouble and divide out community."

In Manchester, two men were arrested for violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker.

Greater Manchester Police said protesters were dispersed in the Newton Heath area after "objects were thrown, towards the police and public".

Wednesday's disorder followed unrest near a mosque in Southport on Tuesday night, during which the building was attacked.
Merseyside Police officers were also pelted with bricks and a police van was set on fire.

The unrest came after Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were fatally stabbed on Monday while attending a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club in Southport.

Eight other children suffered knife wounds - with five of them in a critical condition - while two adults were also critically hurt.

On Thursday, Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust announced two of the injured children had been discharged.

Five children are still being treated by the hospital and are "currently in a stable condition", Alder Hey said.

Early on Thursday morning, a 17-year-old boy was charged by Merseyside Police with three counts of murder, ten counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Liverpool City Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

During the hearing, it was announced the defendant will appear at Liverpool Crown Court later on Thursday.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that the 17-year-old was born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents, that he appears to have no known links to Islam, and that they are not currently investigating the attack as terror-related.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister will welcome senior policing leaders to Downing Street to discuss the resulting unrest.

Number 10 said the meeting would "offer them the government’s full backing following multiple high-profile incidents of extreme violence and public disorder on our streets".

"[The prime minister] will say that the shocking events in Southport this week serve as a reminder of the bravery of our emergency service workers and the vitally important work they do to keep the public safe," it said.

"While the right to peaceful protest must be protected at all costs, he will be clear that criminals who exploit that right in order to sow hatred and carry out violent acts will face the full force of the law."

The 17-year-old boy who has been charged in connection with the Southport stabbings has been named as Axel Rudakubana.

Judge Andrew Menary KC, Honorary Recorder of Liverpool, lifted a reporting restriction this morning (August 1) which had previously prevented the boy's name from being made public due to his age. He made the ruling at Liverpool Crown Court after an application from the media.

It was revealed that Rudakubana would have lost anonymity when he turns 18 next Wednesday. The teenager is from the Banks area in Lancashire.

He is charged with the murders of Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, after a fatal stabbing on at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on Hart Street on Monday. Eight other children suffered knife wounds – with five of them left in a critical condition – while two adults were also critically hurt.

Glad he’s named .

Two children injured in Southport stabbings discharged from hospital

Two of the children who were injured in the knife attack at a dance class in Southport have been discharged from hospital, and five others are now in a stable condition.

In an update published on Thursday morning, Alder Hey children’s hospital in Liverpool said: “We are delighted that two of the children involved in Monday’s awful incident have now been discharged.

“We continue to treat five children involved in the devastating incident in Southport on Monday, including one recently transferred to us from Aintree University hospital. All the children in our care are currently in a stable condition.”

Three children were killed in the attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance and yoga class at the Hart Space, a studio venue in the Merseyside town.

Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, were fatally injured when a male entered the class 10 minutes before it was due to end on Monday morning and attacked the children with a kitchen knife.

Two adults were also injured in the attack and were reported to be in a critical condition earlier this week.

They are the yoga teacher Leanne Lucas, 35, who was running the event, and John Hayes, 63, a businessman working in an office building next door who tried to disarm the attacker.

Alder Hey hospital declared a critical incident in the immediate aftermath of the attack due to the number of casualties staff were dealing with.

A 17-year-old boy appeared in court on Thursday charged with the murders of Bebe, Elsie and Alice, and 10 counts of attempted murder. He used his jumper to cover his face and did not speak.

The attack prompted widespread grief and horror across the country, with hundreds attending a vigil in the town. Taylor Swift was among those to offer her condolences, saying the attack had left her “completely in shock”.

It has also led to two nights of violent unrest after far-right demonstrations were organised on the back of false claims on social media that the attack was carried out by a Muslim asylum seeker who crossed the Channel in a small boat.

The prime minister was due to host senior police leaders in Downing Street on Thursday afternoon. Keir Starmer was expected to stress that those who perpetrated violence and “sow hatred” should face “the full force of the law”.

More than 50 police officers were injured and five men were arrested after far-right riots in Southport on Tuesday night, where an estimated 200-300 people threw bricks, stones and bottles and set cars alight, near a mosque close to where the attack took place.

On Wednesday night violent unrest broke out in London, Hartlepool and Manchester. More than 100 people were arrested in the capital after protesters in Whitehall hurled beer cans and glass bottles at police and threw flares at the statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square.

In Manchester, about 40 people gathered outside a Holiday Inn hotel in what appeared to be a protest against asylum seekers being housed there.

Apparently , he was just 6 days away from his 18th birthday. He needs to be tried as an adult and I suspect the judge will agree as he agreed to the naming too

Some claiming they went to school with him & he was expelled, in contact with social services. A disturbed dark individual.

What are you basing that assessment on? Can you give some examples?

A lad who could be from any place in Asia and the fact that the person who captured is called George and has a Northern accent and a native photo on his profile and was brave enough to post the video.... the poster you are are replying to is proven extremist right wing muslim hater...wonder what he looks like

The prays of the loons are not answered. What a horrible life these cretins live, if they celebrate the murder of innocent people to further their hate of Muslims.

Boy tells murder trial he stabbed 15-year-old girl

A teenage boy accused of murdering a 15-year-old girl has told jurors he did stab her.

Holly Newton was stabbed multiple times in an alleyway in Hexham, Northumberland, in January 2023 by a boy who she claimed had been "stalking" her, Newcastle Crown Court has heard.

A 17-year-old youth, who was 16 at the time and cannot be identified, has admitted manslaughter but denies murder.

He told the court he could not remember the attack.

Prosecutors said the boy followed Holly for about 45 minutes after she left school on 27 January 2023, before attacking her in an alleyway next to a pizza shop at about 17:00 GMT.

Appearing via videolink from the unit where he is being held, the boy was asked by his barrister Nigel Edwards KC who stabbed Holly.

"Me," the youth replied, adding he also stabbed another youth who was trying to break up the assault, although he has also denied wounding offences.

"Do you remember that happening?" Mr Edwards asked.

The boy, who the court heard has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, replied: "No."

The boy told the court he had been abused as a child, self-harmed and attempted suicide on multiple occasions.

Mr Edwards asked the boy what he wanted to do in Hexham the day Holly was killed.

"I wasn't going there to hurt her or kill her," the boy replied.

When asked what he wanted to happen that day, the boy said he was going to "try and take my own life again".

Jurors have previously heard he told police he had been trying to stab himself and his mind went "blank".

On the morning of the attack, Holly had complained to friends that the boy was "stalking" her after he turned up uninvited at her home in Haltwhistle the night before.

Her mother had arranged a meeting with police about the boy, but Holly was killed hours before it was due to take place.

Holly had also been "nervous" of leaving school that day because she thought the boy may be outside waiting for her, but she walked into town after he lied about his location, the court has heard.

Jurors have been told the knife the boy had taken from his kitchen broke during the attack, which passers-by eventually managed to stop.

It's still a non white person so they just refocussed their hate in a different direction.
No, the right is focused on us. Look at the disappointment of the Hindutuva on here. Literally praying for the perpetrator of this horrific murder of these innocent children to be a Muslim. They showed no sympathy for the victims but wanted a ruckus to attack Muslims.

Either way it was a daft idea to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda in first place where there is lack of human rights and an appalling genocide took place which was a product of colonial caste system in that country

They came from 3rd world countries anyway. Rwanda may not look alien to them.

UK is small island. It cannot keep on taking all these millions of people that enter the country illegally every year. This will completely destroy the native culture and race of people.

There aren't millions entering illegally every year

Most of the migration is through legal routes , student , skilled / work visas and the biggest beneficiaries and numbers are you and modern sardar ji honey singh types. You have flooded the country and are doing every menial job .

@Bhaijaan has specifically called out Pakistanis as having "crap two faced nature" and needing the priveleges of the host nation while carrying a deep rooted hatred for them.

That's a pretty serious charge, and if he's serious about wanting to look at the reasons for this alleged anger, then he should be able to back it up with some reason.

I exaggerated when I said millions. Its thousands every year.
"In the year ending June 2023, there were 52,530 irregular migrants detected entering the UK, up 17% from the year ending June 2022. 85% of these arrived via small boats."

This is government statistics and the boats that get caught. There will be equal number that don't get caught.

People who come on student visa don't end up doing menial jobs usually. Its the illiterate people who do those jobs. The link I posted shows the nationalities of people who are arriving. All fighting age men with ages between 18 to 30. Majority are from countries like Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Albania etc.

Nicest thing seen in England since forever.
Kudos to everyone involved.

Any kind of Terrorist attack, who do you think the suspects will be? Be honest.

The west can drop bombs in Muslim countries, loot countries in Africa, overthrow foreign governments but the moment they get a taste of their own medicine then it’s “Islam is barbaric”🤦🏻‍♂️

People’ve been brainwashed into believing that terrorism is just a man shouting “Allah hu Akbar” and blowing himself up.

Don't go into who is right vs who is wrong. I am only suggesting the initial thoughts of public when a Terrorist attack happens.

Regarding America dropping bombs on Muslim countries, it is always US supporting its allies in that country. Even in your country Pakistan, US drones bombed all with the blessings of your own leaders.

There is no brainwashing on my end.

That in itself is an indicator of how the narrative is being spun. Most "terror" attacks these days are just psycho individuals, very few of them are well organised plots. If that criteria is applied evenly then most mob lynchings in India would be classified as terror attacks. If anything you could say they were state inspired.

The initial thoughts of the public when they hear a man has been lunched in India, would be to think that a Hindutva has lynched a Muslim man. That’s what you sound like.

Everyone’s brainwashed or have been to some extent, some more than others.

Like I said, you only define terrorism as a man blowing himself up because that’s all you’ve been fed through the media. The media or the west isn’t going to tell you that Tony Blair is a war criminal, even though he is.

When the media reports of a mass shooting in the US, it’s a lone wolf who was bullied in school. When a brown man blows himself up he’ll be labelled as a terrorist, and you’ll believe it because you’re gullible.

Teen, 17, accused of Southport murders named

A 17-year-old charged with murdering three girls who were stabbed at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport has been named.

Axel Muganwa Rudakubana is also charged with 10 counts of attempted murder after eight other children and two adults were seriously injured in the attack on Monday.

The suspect, who is from the Lancashire village of Banks, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court, and also faces a charge of possessing a curved kitchen knife.

He was remanded into youth detention accommodation.

The Cardiff-born teenager could not previously be named due to his age but Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary KC ruled it could be made public following applications from the media.

The defendant is due to turn 18 next week.

The judge said he was mindful of "misinformation" that had spread regarding the accused's identity.

Southport saw a night of unrest on Tuesday following a vigil in memory of the victims, with protesters gathering near a mosque in the Merseyside town.

Five men were arrested - with one later charged with possessing a knife - after a police van was set alight and bricks were thrown, with 53 police officers injured.

Judge Menary said: "Continuing to prevent full reporting at this stage has a disadvantage of allowing others up to mischief to continue to spread misinformation in a vacuum."

He acknowledged his decision was "exceptional" but said "the balance clearly comes down in favour of the public interest in allowing full reporting of these proceedings".

Arguing against naming the defendant, the prosecution said he had an "autism spectrum disorder diagnosis" and had been "unwilling to leave the house and communicate with family for a period of time".

He attended an appearance at a youth court at about 09:00 BST, arriving in a prison van with a large police escort.

In front of a packed press gallery, he glanced at reporters before he was asked to sit down before District Judge James Hatton.

Wearing a grey police-issued tracksuit, the defendant pulled his sweatshirt above his nose and lowered his head during the five-minute hearing, in which he did not speak.

None of the families of the victims or the defendant were in court.

The accused will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 25 October for a pre-trial preparation hearing.

It is the most hostile it's ever been.

Politicians use Muslims as bogey men more frequently than I've ever experienced. This included Starmer indirectly blaming Muslims for pressuring MPs so that the speaker wouldn't have to call a vote on a Gaza amendment a few months ago, the recent comments of Farage and Anderson.

Muslims are unable to protest peacefully without being characterized as Islamist insurgents.

The right wing media is constantly spewing up Islamophobic garbage that is lapped up by millions.

I think as Britain goes into a deeper decline the next ten years will be horrible.
it is definitely not more hostile than its ever been, post the 7/7 bombings i remember the atmosphere was tangibly fraught, i felt uncomfortable in London with Londoners thinking every bearded brown dude might blow themselves up. I mostly stay in London, but even going around the country every now and again ive never felt eyes on me like back then.

Muslims just had protests of nearly a million people a few months ago for Palestine, and the right wing got bricked, its swings and round aboutss but to say Muslims cant protest is hyperbole.

the right wing media has spewed the same stuff for decades now, Muslim groomers, race wars, terrorists, honour killers, its all been in the news non stop since 9/11.

whether Britain goes into decline is up to people, if you want to cede control over how you observe the world to the fringe telling you what to think, then yes, it might just, but having been through enough episodes like this over the last twenty years its just a general bubbling and simmering of the same underlying tension.

Any incident is jumped on by these thugs. The right are smarting from the loss in the elections and the way Yaxley Lennon is given attention by the DM and DT tells you that it's not a coincidence. The EDL are thugs and anti terrorism legislation needs to be used to ban them
whilst i agree with this, banning them wont solve anything, its easy enough to rename and rebrand when your as small as them. you need to understand why this is happening, these guys are essentially in the left behind economy in dead end towns with economic standards of eastern Europe.

the economic model has failed outside the big cities in this country, and banning these guys it dealing with the symptom not the cause.
