His performance in SENA conditions will be the most important one and if he manages to finish the innings like get did in this ongoing series, he can be the next big thing for India.

Good observation. Surya is more of a leg sided hack. Rinku is a complete batsman as far as LOIs are concerned. (Maynot be good enough for tests)i like this batter. better than surya
Rinku should start keeping ( for IPL and domestic side) if want to play regularly for IndiaIndia middle order is good with the likes of SKY, Pandya and Rinku all proven performers in this format and the latter two are known for their clutch batting and finishes as well.
Concern is top order batting. Kohli inspite of being in the wrong side of 30s still continues to impress while Rohit has also done comparatively better than the likes of Rahul, Gill or Iyer or Kishan.
The obvious batting line-up seems to be :-
Rohit
Jaiswal
Kohli
SKY
Keeper
Pandya
If Pandya is unavailable then Rinku comes in at 6. Ideally, I would want Rinku to be a certainty in the side but not sure on whose cost it can be. 1 keeper is must and as of now, there is lack of clarity for that spot.
I suspect, India will go with a keeper who opens in place of Jaiswal. Then they can slot Rinku at 5.India middle order is good with the likes of SKY, Pandya and Rinku all proven performers in this format and the latter two are known for their clutch batting and finishes as well.

He plays mostly through backward point. He is predominantly a backfoot player being short and all. Hence i hardly see him driving through off side.Rinku needs to develop his off-side hitting.

SKY's batting is good against predictable average bowling line up. If he is up against a unit that reacts well to his field manipulation he gets found out. Sometimes he plays certain shots just for the sake of playing. Rinku mostly reacts to the length like MSD without predictability. That is why he is good. He is a combination of Raina and MSD.I rate him as a better finisher compared to Sky because his execution is on spot down the order.
How about rinku at 5 ,jitesh at 7.India middle order is good with the likes of SKY, Pandya and Rinku all proven performers in this format and the latter two are known for their clutch batting and finishes as well.

. 4 bowlers and pandya/Jaiswal/Rinku can bowl remaining 4 overs. In that way we will have batting depth.
Yeah I agree, but if not rinku we are doomed .Rohit and kohli became white elephants and knocking out the deserved. There is no place for part timers in T20Is. 1 bad over for 20 runs and the game would be gone.
he must have been selected, way better option compared to Shivam DubeHow could BCCI not select this guy
Not really. Both have a different role. Both should be selected. Rinku finisher. Dube middle over enforcer. There are way too many spinners in the squad.he must have been selected, way better option compared to Shivam Dube

4 spinners in the squad is useless anyway.
Because they wanted to make space for Pandya and Jaddya. How could BCCI not select this guy

Tbh bro, almost every team even Australia seems to be favouring old guns.Rinku was India's prime finisher before this IPL and all of a sudden he was dropped. Looks like Indian selectors are inspired by the neighbours as well.
How could BCCI not select this guy
He should learn to bowl properly or perish. Indian team has too much competition if you want to play as a pure batsman or bowler. What an injustice to him! Just read his father's reaction
====
His father opened up and made an emotional remark saying that they had sweets and firecrackers ready as there were “too many” hopes for his selection in the first squad.
“There were a lot of hopes, but there were disappointments as well. We had got sweets and firecrackers with the hope that he will feature in the playing XI. Still, we are very happy," Rinku's father told Indian media.
He further revealed that he was not heartbroken but was pretty upset as the 26-year-old had hoped he would be in the main squad of the Blues.
"Yes, he was upset, he was talking to his mother. It is not like his heart has been broken. He was telling to his mother that he would be going with the team, but has not featured in the 15-member squad," Rinku's father added.
Earlier, a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told Press Trust of India (PTI) the reason behind Rinku’s exclusion from the first squad.
“No doubt, Rinku paid the price for the Impact Player Rule. He is plain and simple unlucky. Hardik might be in poor form but he is still India’s best seam bowling all-rounder and it would have been a risk dropping him considering he is the only one who has bowled,” a BCCI source told PTI.

After a long time India found an MSD like finisher and they dropped him. What a blunder by selectors of Team India, he was the real deal and would have performed so much better than the hack Shivam Dube. Right now Dube is just a passenger and he cannot be trusted in that middle order.
That's untrue. Rinku played 2 T20Is in SA and he averaged 82 at a SR of 167. He is not a typical T20 hitter, he has an impressive FC record with an average of 54.Rinku was good today.
But, he is quite untested outside of India. Let's see how he does away from India (India's next T20I series is in South Africa).

Only 2 games? Very small sample size.
Also, South Africa are going through a transition phase. They recently lost to Ireland and Afghanistan. Almost lost against Nepal too during the World T20.
That can be said for any team. All T20I teams go through transition every few years. Rarely players play for a long time. Even if they do most of the top players rest for bi-laterals. I feel Rinku will do well in all conditions and he will very soon play in all formats for India. His averages in both List A and FC are very good, so deserves to get longer run in ODIs as well. He is better than Surya that way as the latter has an ordinary List A record and decent FC numbers (according to Indian standards). India tried to push him into ODI setup with no success.Only 2 games? Very small sample size.

Except for Babar and Rizwan. They plat all bilaterals to keep their ranking. That can be said for any team. All T20I teams go through transition every few years. Rarely players play for a long time. Dont think Ind will substitute because it looks like Rinku will come back after the visit before India's match against WIGet iyer in . India needs a middle order batsman with calm head
If Rinku cant comtemp substitution. nsubstitution. Iyer is a good fielderDont think Ind will substitute because it looks like Rinku will come back after the visit before India's match against WI
Aint no way they are dropping Abhishek. He can be a game changer and should Ind qualify for SF, batters like him can be dangerous in a knockout game.Axar will come in for Washington, Samson for Rinku, and Abhishek or Kishan will move to #3 and rest will move down.
If Rinku still plays, they might sit out Abhishek and bring in Samson to open and rest stay at their positions.
Iyer should be batting at 3 or 4 and he's not even in the teamGet iyer in . India needs a middle order batsman with calm head
So SAd... May GOD give him and family the courage to bear this loss.Rinku Singh's father Khachandra Singh passes away after battle with liver cancer
Rinku Singh’s father, Khachandra Singh, has died at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida after battling stage 4 liver cancer. As per reports, Rinku has left India’s T20 World Cup squad to be with his family. It is unclear whether the flamboyant batter will be available for remainder of the World Cup.
Grief has struck Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and his family. His father, Khachandra Singh, passed away at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida after battling stage 4 liver cancer.
In the final days, his condition had turned critical. He was kept on mechanical ventilator support and was undergoing continuous renal replacement therapy as doctors tried to stabilise him. The deterioration had been swift, and he remained under close medical supervision before his passing.
The news comes at a time when Rinku was away with the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. Ahead of the clash against Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, he had suddenly left the squad and travelled back home after being informed that his father’s health had worsened significantly.
Notably, Khachandra had been fighting liver cancer for some time, but his health had recently declined sharply, leading to his hospitalisation in Greater Noida.
Rinku was dropped from playing XI vs Zimbabwe
Rinku was quick to return to Chennai after a quick visit to meet his father. However, the team management altered the combination as the Suryakumar Yadav-led side made two changes to the playing XI, leaving Rinku out of the equation. Sanju Samson was reinstated as an opener as the hosts needed a right-handed batter at the top of the order. To adjust to the situation, Ishan Kishan was moved down to three, while Tilak Varma’s role changed to a finisher.
Axar Patel, on the other hand, replaced Washington Sundar. As things stand, it’s unclear about Rinku’s availability for the rest of the T20 World Cup 2026. The BCCI is yet to announce any development and more is expected to come to light as the day progresses.
The Indian team, in the meantime, will now travel to Kolkata for their marquee clash against West Indies. The winner of the match will join South Africa to qualify for the semi-finals.
